  1. I'm abroad at the moment so can't come to the trial (thanks for the offer) but am hoping to get out on the bike when I get home. Thanks for your help its much appreciated
  2. Well that was useful information I didn't know any of that. To be honest, I really just ride the bike for a bit of fun as I don't have a lot of time to practice and I work abroad and never know when I will be away so would find it hard to regularly enter trials. I have a 2006 sherco and its been sat in my garage for over a year since it was new as I just haven't had the time to use it, so now I have the move sorted I am just trying to find a good place to ride and make time to use it!
  3. I have just moved from the north east where you are spoilt for choice for places to take the bike, I am now living in Peterborough which I think must be the flattest place on earth I have seen the odd bike around on trailers though so just wondering if anyone lives in peterborough or knows where I can take the sherco??? Thanks

    Flywheel Cover Update

How did you make it then? Looks good anyway
  5. Are all of the bolts tight? Does it only happen when you dis-engage the clutch maybe it could be pushing out too far? Have you had the clutch apart? How do you know it is rubbing, are the marks on the inside of the cover? maybe the noise is coming from somewhere else. Just use a 8mm spanner to get the botls out, if they are tight you might need to hold the basket still.
  6. There is a washer that goes on the end of the shaft of the water pump gear. Also what colour is your gearbox oil, if its milky the water pump seals might be leaking

    Flywheel Cover Update

How much did you pay for the cover? It looks good I think a clear one would look good on my sherco
  8. Make sure that you put everything together in the right order, If you have put something in the wrong place, eg. a washer then something could be rubbing, check the back of the clutch basket isnt touching the main drive gear or that the clutch isnt rubbing the clutch cover, etc
  9. I e-mailed trialstar a few weeks ago and they got back to me the next day. They said a full sticker set for my sherco would be
  10. It seems that curved, U shaped brackets are a bad design, It would be a good idea if possible to make a new bracket with the sides as close to the fork legs as possible so it is as close to being a flat style one as possible hope that makes sense
  11. Is your bracket a U shape or is it flat, My gas gas had a U shaped bracket and clogged up all the time but my flat sherco one has never cloged up. If you can try making a flat bracket

    Lost Gears

Sounds like the same problem I had, Make sure you find all of the spring or it could change from a cheap job to a very expensive one Check the shifter shaft isnt worn, there are two curved sort of spikes on the end which turn the barrel, thats what snapped off on my gaser.

    Lost Gears

To take the gear shift selector out you need to take the gear shifter off then if i remember rightly you need to take off the clutch basket and it will easily pull out through the engine. I think if it is the shift selector you will need to replace the whole thing but i remember on my gas gas a tiny piece of metal had snapped off so i just got it welded back to normal.

    Lost Gears

I know this seems obvious but have you tried changing your gearbox oil? Does the selector always go back to the centre as mine sometimes gets stuck and I have to push it back to the centre before I can change gear. If not either of these sounds like it could be a worn pawl, drum or fork. I would get it sorted before carrying on using it as the shift lever spring broke on my sherco and a tiny bit of it must have got caught between the main drive gear and clutch basket and ripped up the cogs, get it sorted just incase anything has broke inside as you will cause more damage by using it.

    02 Sherco

I got the mudguard from white brothers, yea it was brand new and it looks a lot better than the 04 one did. I'm not sure if you could fit a 290 cylinder but all the bikes from 125 to 290 seem to have the same specs except from the size of the top end. Just ask in your local bike shop shop I'm sure they can tell you

    02 Sherco

It should spray ok as your front mud guard doesn't really bend like your back one. I bought a 05 mudguard yesterday for my 04, it was only about

    02 Sherco

Try bvm (01453 762743) or white brothers (01325 483121) or malcolm rathemell (01423 772885) they are in my opinion, the best places to try, just see which one gives you the best price

    02 Sherco

If rubbed it down then used plastic filler primer, from halfords (the yellow stuff) I would think it would stick well, mite eventually start to wear away were your foot rubs on it but you could just touch it up.

    02 Sherco

I am spraing my tank back up to the 2004 silver colour. For the head I would just use hamerite bbq paint or halfords do a high temp engine paint, I used it on my gas gas because all of the engine was painted red. Look for more of a dark grey than a black though. I would think a flywheel cover would be expensive as most sherco parts have stupid prices! Supose you could just paint it with the paint that you use on the head. Or if you keep looking on ebay I have seen a few 2004 flywheel covers sell on there for around

    02 Sherco

The tank on the 02 bikes is blue and will need to be changed to silver I am in the process of re-spraying my tank look at my post here do you want it to look like a 04/05 or do you just want it to be different? If you want it to look like a genuine one you will need the black flywheel cover, silver front disk guard, black cylinder head.
  22. Its pretty easy to inspect it yourself, Drain your radiator then take the four bolts off joining the head to the engine and the part on top of the cylinder joining it to the frame, disconnect the water pipe from the top and pull the cylinder off, you may also need to remove your fan and radiator or just move them up in the frame. If your lucky you may just need new piston rings (about
  23. The paint underneath my petrol cap on my tank keeps running, I have repainted and re-stickeded the tank twice, once using five coats of laquer (which didnt help), and again using see through plastic (which melted) Does anyone else have this problem with their tanks? Mine is currently stripped and coated with plastic primer and I just thought I'd see if anyone on here has any ideas before I finish it? Thanks
  24. I've decided to order a new silencer, as the threads in the holes are also rounded off and the exhaust is a bit tatty. I found a company in TMX news (TP Off Road Sports, tel 01502 731627) who do a sherco repacking service, haven't phoned to see how much it is but I will give them a try with the new one when it needs doing.

    Clutch

Is it only when the bike warms up? my front brake did the same thing and locked up once it got warm, I just loosened the bleeder valve and let some of the fluid out, never had a problem with it since. Also make sure there is some play in the adjuster on the clutch lever.
