sounds like the seals gone missing ,you need the main seals to seal crankcase from the outside ,ie to stop dirt getting in and to make it air tight or it would suck air from here and not the carb , i see what your saying though if the bearings sealed you shouldnt need them ,but i dont think they would be good enough to make air tight for long ,, personally i would prefer unsealed bearings lubed from the fuel mixture
-
as above some pressure plates have to have marks to align them , failing that something must be in the wrong place or a plate missing, maybe just have someone else go over it with you a different eye might might spot something
-
too much coolant would blow out passed the cap if needed to , the hole is to let it out when an internal seal fails ,replace seals and check/replace bearings
-
from memory i think the screws are on the left ,the mixture (pilot circuit is at the front ) and idle in the middle under slide but rather than screwed straight in its at an angle so you have to get down and look up in the hole
-
give it a good clean/blow out remove all jets and mixture screw ,which adjusts the opposite to which you would think ,there is an idle adjuster , and look into fuel bowl holes for a small jet

-
the 26mm sounds right 20mm would be too small also the numbers sound familiar to some on my 200,s
-
it looks like it nice find
-
what will you do with all the spare time now you wont be fixing the sherco after each ride ,you have not gone to the dark side you have seen the light
-
yes i had that very thing about 30 40 mph on tarmac not nice ,someone had cross threaded brake plate stay mount ,bolt came out plate spun round brake locked on sending me sliding down the road , the hub was smashed and the wheel hub , so quite expensive parts ruined aswell
-
well done that man ,sounds like was a chew
-
whats the prob with the mikuni
-
you need to visit an auto paint shop supplier ,2 pak would be best as needs to be petrol resistant , hi build primer is good to fill imperfections and id say you will need to add a plasticizer so the paint can flex when the tank expands ,also use 2 part fillers and stoppers to prevent sinkage ,, if theres cracks they need grinding out and repairing with fibreglass resin or you can use a bridging filler ( a filler paste with fibreglass in ) quite handy ,make sure keep it clean and free from oily finger prints
-
can you check part numbers on a honda site
-
is this the same bike as in an older post by tOm541
-
if it has sheared again, has it been tightened enough ? has the taper or inside flywheel taper faces been damaged ? you can improve the fit by using grinding paste remove key and rock back and forth with slots half lined up
-
no in and out wont cause it ,it will sit lower to the back as shaft is tapered , i think you need to determine if key still ok ,then mark flywheel to casing at tdc and using a strobe light check the timing ( get help if no experience ) then if thats ok get a compression test done if thats ok check reeds and maybe replace crank seals if all looks ok ,, have you tried disconnecting kill switch
-
could you weld a washer on top of the hole
-
use a strobe light to determine if its sparking on each kick or failing when t conks
-
just up road richmond ,, i also have some used parts for techno,s
-
water had crossed my mind ,could be from washing bike or it could be in the fuel ,clean carb out again removing all parts possible and use an air line or aerosol carb cleaner then drain fuel out frame either check and separate any water found or replace with fresh , to replace seals flywheel would need removing on right side ,on left clutch cover and crank drive would need to be removed but its more likely the carb at fault
-
a chest from m mart would be fine snap on are expensive , but for a reason they are very good and chosen by those that dont want bashed knuckles and want to use them daily but on the other hand they are more appealing to thiefs , you could try mac bergan or facom which arnt too bad
-
is air filter exhaust ok anything happen last time out poss plug cap maybe but sounds like it could be running lean causing pinking ,so if carb and jets properly cleaned it could be an air leak or maybe crank seals but hard to say without seeing/hearing it
-
it looks like it had its work cut out ,,, you wouldn't know where to find a piston for a montesa 242 would you
-
you could try david pye Middlesbrough Stockton area uk
