  1. looking for new 38mm fork bushes for a 94 gas gas 250 i see trialstribulations do them for 98-03 will they be the same

  5. the seal is from the screw and without it it would suck air making it leaner you might after get a new screw from jitsie with the seal on unless lampkins can provide one but carb parts for the rev 4 are limited you might get one from an o ring selection box to fit ,, it sounds like it needs a larger main jet or try lifting needle with a washer or small seal , i take it theres no mods to air intake or exhaust ? an iridian plug new plug cap and hi octane fuel could also help
  6. not sure if its the same as 247 it looks the same (some on that bay site ) but could be bigger ,it will be same as mh200 and cota 200 the lock washer and nut is missing the hat (push plate) then goes on and theres a small brass piece that fits in the side case that pushes on the plate ,, its hard to describe how to set the kickstart shaft up its quite a job but if its all gone back together in the correct alignment the engager will be sat clockwise unsprung and engaged when casing fitted you then turn it anticlockwise it will then come up on the spur and disengage putting tension on which brings the starter to rest on the casing ps the gear selctor looks very low and looks like it will hit the casing when trying to select or isnt it fully in position you might get the parts from south west montesa or try google dealers in spain
  7. agree with gizza5 more depends on what you are use to, the power response of bike, your skill level and probably the type of use and terrain
  8. find tdc mark flywheel and align mark on casing and use a car type strobe light align around 5 to 10 degrees before tdc at just above tick over
  9. i seem to remember 110 is enough but what sprocket sizes are you running
  10. its possible the seal inbetween the 2 halves is failing undoe the two halfs and get it matched up with a bearing seal stockist or poss universal seal selection box
  11. you would be best taking a sample of colour or pic of colour to an auto paint mixing suppliers or body shop it would probably need to be done in 2 pak (needs to be petrol brake fluid resistant ) not base and clear as that would make it shiny ,they can add a matting agent to dull off the shine as paint is naturally shiney

  13. advance (turning against flywheel) (sparks sooner ) direction = quicker response more power higher reving poorer starting possible kicking back odd back fire ,,retard turning in flywheel direction easier starting ,flatter smoother power possibly more torquey ,
  14. it does sound like the pump isnt turning or theres a blockage in the system or poss head seals perished causing pressure biuld up ?
  15. jtservices@live.co.uk did you know if the 2nd stator worked ,you need to make sure points are insulated with the plastic bushes and the wires to condensor isnt earthing to anything ,, it might be best to do away with the condensor on stator as new modern ones dont seem to be much good ,go to halfords and see if they have a old mini or mgb or old beetle type with one wire and wire this in under the tank direct to black wire at coil it may need the body earthing to frame

  17. i dont know why people keep jumping to conclusions and assumptions that arnt right if they didnt assume, they might be able to look on things in a differnt light i wanted others views which i have now got ,and it doesnt sound suitable for what i want unless i run 2 twinshocks or swop the front ends when wanted as it depends on the type of trial and which class to be ridden or wether i just want to practice on it or put my son on it or use it on the road ,i never said anything about wanting to cheat if its allowed then others can do the same if its not allowed in a certain class then fair enough no problem
  18. it wont be much trouble converting to disc just a case of bolting parts on ,its only cheating with a mono conversion if you ride in twinshock class ,and ive already got plenty gearbox and kickstart parts spare
  19. well put ,this is more the info i was after ,so if i had 2 front ends it could work pritty well , as theres not many twinshock events you find yourself riding easy events against modern machinery so been able to keep up with them on a twinshock would be very satisfying

  21. mmmmmmmmmmmm think ive already stated i also run a modern bike ,and no cannibilising would be needed ,i suppose if i wanted i could have two front ends and just swop when wanted if i go down this route or i could have one twinshock with disc and another without
  22. i already got a bike with discs and mono iam looking at improving the braking of a twinshock so its more like a modern bike to ride and so there isnt a vast difference going from mono to twinshock ( as i ride both ) and to have good sharpe brakes even when wet the events i ride arnt easy ( not pottering around inbetween trees but going up moss covered rocky streams ) and plenty find hard enough on a modern bike so any improvements will make riding a bit easier
  23. thinking of fitting disc front brake to a twinshock to be rode in club twinshock events and blue bar richmond ,is this allowed or is it not complying to rules also whats the rules on an early mono converted to twinshock
