  1. Aye those French sections were the worst id seen in years. Technically challenging but repetitive junk and OH SO BORING. At least the Spanish round had some decent hill and bull ring sections. Id recommend Arnedo for sure.
  2. I've no idea what happened there , but link is now working.
  3. A while ago i interviewed 3 x World Champion Thierry Michaud about his Trials career for my hobby website. He had a long career , so its a long interview . I managed to track down the owners of some of this Fantic factory bikes for photos . This photo of Thierry was taken by my friend Richard Baker at 1988 Uk World trial at Butser Limeworks near Petersfield. Even today , this root covered steep section is absolutely untouchable for most riders. The interview is here http://www.retrotrials.com/exclusive-thierry-michaud-interview.html
  4. The Witley clubs Boxing day enduro on the 28th at Bordon is a great way to sweat the nosh and booze out of your belly after an over indulgent Christmas. Spectators are needed to help the riders out of the mud holes who will be cursing the very thought of entering Can't wait
  5. You hit the nail on the head there. Fingers crossed..........
  6. I've been told that there are 3 head inserts that Steve supplies that are all gold. confusing the neck out of everyone. I can't remember which gold one I have but it did the trick. The lowest compression gold head insert would be the correct one
  7. Go for the 250 if your an average rider. The 300 is more of a hand full.

  9. Jack Sheppard, official driver JGas The British driver Jack Sheppard firm JGas for 2015 season. Jack participate as an official driver in the World Championship for next season riding a 300cc Racing JGas. Jack is pleased with the new phase will begin: "The opportunity to be the main driver for JGas in the World Pro category is too good to refuse. I am very impressed with the quality of the bike and easy to carry. I am eager to start working with Steve Saunders, Jordi Pascuet and the rest of JGas team. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John Lampkin for all the support I received during my years in Beta. " On the other hand, the team manager SXS Jotagas, Steve Saunders says: "Jotagas UK is delighted to have Jack on board and look forward to working with him, Jack has always been good for the sport and great driver. His presence will improve the JGAS brand in the UK and around the world. " We wish you many successes Jack!otagas / Jgas has signed Jack and he will continue to compete in the WC.
  10. Some top riders dont like fuel injection power delivery. They consider it just to sharp and crisp off the bottom and feeling for grip isnt as easy as with a carb. Where with a carb on initial throttle opening you can really feel the initial fluffiness as the power creeps in , some say the injections bikes are to quick and run away ....just a little bit more. Fuel injections systems on two strokes also suffer from reliability problems after 5 of so years. The injectors milk up as the oil mixes with the water drawn through in the air. Its very difficult to service this without quite a big strip down. The compressors operate under high pressure and seals perish making them fail. This has happened to me numerous times on FI 2 strokes. If my experience with FI bikes is anything to go by , then FI bikes will have a shorter life than carb bikes----that is unless you want to throw money at. £100+ for an injector. £250 for a compressor as opposed to a carb with Zero of these costs. I love progress , but in my opinion FI bikes will not have as long life as a carb bike and will be confined the breakers earlier...because thats whats happening right now with other scooters that run similar systems

    Trs Engine

It's going to be quite a while before any full bike will be seen let alone sold . Looks very trick though with a striking design and colour scheme. Trs already have a proto. that they're testing and this testing will continue for months and months to get it right. The company has the private funding and there is an onus on getting it right and testing it properly to make sure its reliable in every way. That takes time.
  12. So bikes are getting good press right now with Carl Fogerty winning Im a celebrity get me out of here. So will / should Dougie go for the programme in the future ?. Is this the exposure our sport needs ....or should he stay clear ? Would it do any harm ? I'll take punt that he'll be on it in the future , but perhaps I'm wrong . What do you think
  13. Becky Cook is now JTG but that wasn't who I was referring to.
  14. His garage is full of Shercos and he genuinely thinks it will stay the same ... but he also knows that anything is possible. A Scorpa ride sounds unlikely. Has a new Italian minder- nice guy and they manage to communicate very well . The minder knows what is required and was just ready and all was good .... but it'll be interesting to keep an eye on .Chocolate cake with a liquor centre at 9am was a bit rich. Pol practising hard with Bou and Fuji watching.
  15. Yes , to be rigid , or not to be rigid That is the question . There seem to be arguments for both rigidity and flex. It makes no difference to me . Trials bikes mostly make little technological baby steps in the direction of progress. I think Vertigo does this + a little more. As a full package however , the Vertigo might just blow the others into the weeds. Its always 80% ish down to the rider anyway so smaller marques like Ossa ,JTG really never have a chance to fully prove themselves to anything other than their owners.
  16. Aye, you have a point there about Sherco which I forgot ... but we'll see. Id love to say but I just can't because he might be spinning a few plates at once and I dont want to mess it up for him , which is obviously right. It'll all come out on the wash
  17. Andrew , no chance of Tarres to Scorpa. He's with Sherco for another year straight from the horses mouth . There are other moves a foot though. Just heard direct again, that a certain someone is testing a Jotagas. Time will tell what really afoot.
  18. When adverts were proper , contained a bit of detail instead of just web addresses and prices. God I'm sounding old lol
  19. Steve Saunders registers mine and others and doesnt charge anything on top.
  20. And..........were off again
  21. Josep Xiu Serra is a little known man but never the less he has designed and created the modern Trials bike and engine to what it is today. He created the GasGas pro , the new Ossa as well as others that are not so public. I was introduced to him earlier in the year and later visited him at his design studio. This interview cuts through the marketing gloss and is very revealing. You just have to think about whats being said and also read between the lines. Its all there. Its on my hobby web - http://www.retrotrials.com/xiu-serra---the-secret-engineer.html
  22. Are the tcx and sidi trials boots ? . If not stay clear unless you want blocks on your feet
