  1. Mick - Were you seriously considering buying one then ?
  2. Thats a brilliant video. I really enjoyed that . Thanks
  3. A friend of mine sold his Cheney framed Ossa mono to the Zaragoza Ossa museum for a fortune.
  4. Poor compression , damaged reed valve . Partially blocked jets
  5. Trials bikes are great fun to ride is small enduros. The perfect bike is Gasgas txt 321 with good brakes and loads of power. I ride the national Snowrun on this bike and had a great time. Just enter and have some fun.
  6. Have you Googled ? There is lots about
  7. I think you can forget the carb . It's def a spark issue. I'm guessing you coil is built into the CDI and add you've replaced it it shouldn't be at fault.Perhaps your pick up on the stator is working intermittently. If you plug lead is good then I'd be sending the stator off. Forgetting your resistance readings for one moment why dont you check your stator output readings. They should be very healthily over 13 volts
  8. This has never happened to me. It depends on your riding style but I think this soreness and boot wear is very unusual. He must be pinching the bike with his ankles.
  9. Hi Dbf , The parts back up is very good. Steve Saunders the UK importer has pretty much everything in stock ready to send out . R Sprockets are the same as GG . Bolts are bearings generic standard items. Saunders has decals. To be honest you went need much anyway. They are very reliable bikes.
  10. What a champion. This was Bou on Sunday about to go into the biggest section of the day on the first lap. If he looks pensive , its because im told he fived it the day before. A new line away from the rut....and he flies out . Just incredible . Just look at the air time !!!! The roar from the crowd was something else. Then this is the moment immediately after the last section as everyone is diving on his for a hug , congratulations and photos. Just INCREDIBLE. History right in front of my eyes. This means more to me than the Magna Carta . It was my first Spanish World Trial . Get down to see one if you can.
  11. Nice video thanks - That auto focus looked a pain for you
  12. From the way I read your posts, your both right in your own way The Belgium trial looked to me , to be the best W trial in years and years. I wish I'd gone. 6000 is a good turn out for 2014 but the figures as are always inflated and I take them with a big pinch of salt. The real figure week be nothing compared with past days of trial. Different age groups will always argue thier era was better..... it's always been that way and always will be. My trial loving farther in law used to bore the crap out of me saying his years were better. But perhaps your the same age ? Putting to one side subjective opinion looking back with memories and photos , the crowds have been gradually getting smaller and smaller since the 50's. This is generally accepted. I think trials is a spectator sport , but it's a dying one. Trials is like a teenager growing up with no boundaries in life. It's done what its wanted all these years with no supervision .It's been hitting the booze hard and smoking . It's now grown up and it's out of control. It's so screwed up and now it's so bloody hard to put back into line. Will it once again attract real spectators numbers like the 50's 60's and 70's. Nope.... the World has moved on and trials is screwed up way beyond the little tickle Michaud is giving it. It just needs to be enjoyed for what it is
  13. Thanks Guys. Its great to see the step still being used. How the bikes just fly up and down there these days.
  14. Is this the one with the txt engine and Chrome frame ?
  15. I dont know what your planning but I would not paint it at all or change visible components If its the actual bike as you think and you paint it , you will damage the value significantly.......but its up to you
  16. Thats one hell of a clean 309. Very nice to see.
  17. Who knows. It's all a big secret and we can't talk about it shhhhhhh
  18. I'd put money on it the magnets are fine. Sure , they can fall off , but i've never heard of them losing so much juice that they wouldn't work. Be logical . Check the power from the source and then follow it
  19. Big hopper, You need to diagnose your problem logically starting with where the electricity is generated. Put your repaired gear back on the bike. The first thing to check is the magneto and check the voltage coming from the magneto when you kick it over , obviously with the flywheel fitted. You should be getting a good reading way in excess of 12 volts. You can use a bulb lead for this or a digital volt meter , you know ...the sort that is £5 on ebay. If your getting good volts then check your connections to the coil and frame . Then check the reading coming from your ht lead. This process should identify your problem component. Ive got to say im surprised both your coil and stator needed repairing. This is strange that both may be faulty. Also i see they are in Cornwall. Is this the original guy who has come back from Spain or someone who has bought the business. This guy may just not know his stuff like the original. Good luck
  20. Watching the videos I can only come to one conclusion. The UK riders uncontrollably fell asleep mid lap due to the incredible dullness of the sections ?
  21. I've used plenty of helicoils and they've never let me down even in really hard wearing locations , like sprocket bolts threads in magnesium hubs. Id recommend them.
  22. Woody , your absolutely right in your posting about the rules. The big thing that's changed that keeps many of the big World riders away from the SSDT is the level of professionalism that's increased. These days the riders dont compromise and riding wholly different type of events. It's all proper hard riding and all very serious .Wc sections and nothing else which might spoil the flow. So many riders have problems riding enduro and trial as it's speed one weekend , then trials and no speed the next. There's a worry amongst the top riders that firstly the change in riding style for the SSDT might undermine thier World efforts. Secondly the Honda management told me that this is another game entirely and a few slack dabs can lose him the event . He isn't prepared to ride an easier event like this where he can't pull back slack marks. Agree or disagree , these are the reasons I was told
  23. You dont look well , if that helps
