  1. What do GG want you to do ? Clean them under the seal ?
  2. Pushing it back into place with Epoxy Araldite . Then add a dribble of caswells fuel tank sealer to settle around the internal pet cock area and this will help to stop the petrol getting under the araldite. This should last a good while.
  3. You can always rely in Belgium to bring back a little mud to the WC. Nice video Guys and thanks for posting
  4. Jgas is Jotagas. They are the same bike and the same company. Jgas is just the new name of Jotagas. Why do you want to do this when you can buy Jotagas plates?
  5. The Mecatecno Skywalker forks only used a spring on one leg. The other leg is used for damping . This is probably the same.If it was actually missing a spring youd have noticed that the forks were so soft and sagging that the bike would be bottoming out on the flat. What you have sounds correct
  6. Theyre all good bikes Tonad. Some of them have more aggressive power than others and they handle differently from one another. If i were you i would make the journey to a big trial and see what catches your eye. You can also try and ask for a short ride or a stand on the bike. Ideally you need to test ride them all. They're all good bikes. Of that there is no doubt
  7. The engine of course is not fully drained just because you take the clutch cover off. Much of the oil is still retained in engine crevices / bearings etc. Your over filling if you put in 400mm on an oil change. I know this is what the book says but things change and like Tarres said and i posted ages ago 350mm on all oil changes and you wont have this problem. It works perfectly with no oil being blown at all. That gadget you guys bought is a gadget for a gadgets sake , but hey its your money , just please dont go blaming the bike saying theyve got to mod it. Youve just got to mod to 350 mm I agree with you on the bash plates though and the chain tensioner is fiddly but hey big deal. Now all the heads have the lower insert i cant think of anything substantial id change . I know you guys are saying the same
  8. As you say the design is really good first off . The time has past for suggestions now to be put into place as the works all done. The 15's are ready and pictures / spec will be out soon. I wonder what the factory will have come up with. .
  9. Yes definitely open as usual . I spoke with them yesterday (Monday) .Keep trying
  10. Thanks Andy . Aye Eddie is in a bad state. One person I met yesterday said about no stop . It's a great idea but the sections these days are crazy. The sections in trial these days are like going skiing and starting on the black run.None wants to do this , it's crazy. Everyone I speak to in the know about the sport thinks the sport at WC level is dying quickly. It's the change that people disagree on
  11. Time was short on the Saturday but Information from a very reliable source there and involved ,states riders are very unhappy with the changes imposed but they cannot speak out. The decision to slow down and virtually give up on the Saturday buy many in the Pro class was a protest to the FIM. I have no doubt the tight time kicked off the rebellion on the day . I'm told this was the straw that broke the camel's back and the riders grabbed the opportunity to send a message to the FIM they must be consulted and listened to.
  12. Jason got a good income from the show organisers. He was one of the first big show trick guys and rightfully commanded good prices because he was the only one . He's a great guy , easy to speak with , and very approachable .
  13. When you house is so full of mannequins dressed in retro trials clothing that friends get shocked at every corner When your living room had a bike as centre piece . When your wife is so used to it quite likes it and no longer moans at 4 holidays a year to Spain + more ref trials . When you have more bikes than days in the month and have only ridden 10 of them
  14. Despite the wonderful effort that the organisers have made to make this a great trial it was clear from there being new organisers that it would need very close supervision . That is obvious. The FIM should have been over this trial like a rash. Can you imagine some concert or show organiser letting the new guy take control !. 'Its Tims first day today at the company and were going to put him in charge of operations ' LOL. It wouldn't have happened in any company and it shouldn't have happened here. Now I'm sure there was some experience there , so why didn't they listen or did they think the riders wanted more time for a BBQ on the beach . What an embarrassment. The FIM need to grab the reigns and take control . Don't trust the newbie to get it right , supervise for Christ's sake.
  15. Yes your right Guys . I read a Facebook post from someone in the know earlier this evening stating that the riders had approached the organisers about the time being short but the riders words were not heeded. This post had now been deleted. I'm betting that Thierry has got involved to make sure the same doesn't happen tomorrow. From one PR disaster to another. If the riders want more time , why not give it to them ! ?. Ok the official reason isn't out but from what I'm hearing and reading between the lines the inexperienced organisers got approached by the experienced riders/ minders and asked for more time. The organisers thought they knew better and didn't give them any more time . Just give them more time. Its not as if its going to get dark. What's the big deal. Sounds like It wasnt an idea that the organisers thought of, so it can't be a good idea . The eloquent write up attached to the front page of this web site does not explain the reasons why the riders decided to sit out the trial and not doing so gives readers the impression that they did this for no explainable reason . Reading this report gives this impression . Surely they sat out for a reason. Why was this ?It's not fair to the riders because of this . Perhaps the writer did not want to blame anyone for the mess up at this trial, but in being so vague they have unintentionally pointed the finger at the riders as I have explained. .I hate to see my sport being messed up and i would like a report that laid it out , not skirted around. This is entirely objective . Reports are always great as is TC .
  16. I think Steve's getting some in next week. Dont know about Johns delivery You need to grab a test ride . What's good for me might not be good for you. For example I occasionally ride a freekin Merlin
  17. Devo , its interesting you thought that . If you look here http://www.retrotrials.com/the-jotagas-diary but look for the posting on 01/30/2014 The rider actually ended up with a Sherco but whats ridden is exactly how the day panned out and he thought the delivery was to sharp and came in to quick. He reconned another bike was entirely different and that's how he ended up with a Sherco
  18. I rarely get any fancy motorcycle doos in my calender . This was a great opportunity, so jumped at it. For me the sentimental rose tinted look back videos from the Bulto's family collection were just priceless and the highlight of the launch. It brought a tear to many an eye. Ive been promised some videos from the night ,so am just waiting for those. I managed to capture the tail end of this video and and have uploaded it. You can find the link on a short report on my hobby website ive created about the night . http://www.retrotrials.com/2014-the-new-bultaco--the-launch-party.html What a location. The bikes looked impressive and my favourite was the one to the left with the alloy side casing. Ok ,its not trials but it is Bultaco . Impressive power , 200 km on a charge .At garage forecourt charging supplies the new Bultaco will charge in 15 minutes whilst your having a coffee. A Comerfords Martin lampkin championship winning Bultaco. The Spanish shapely media Bultaco Metralla There gathering was 95% Spanish with only a sprinkle of Brits and a Fin Daniel Bulto and Pete Hudson . Pete was competition manager at Comerfords. He really enjoyed the night. Daniel is a top top guy and does his Grand Father Paco credit. Ines, Paco's youngest daughter was also there. Top Man Sammy was one of the guests of honour Yours truly trying to get his leg over , but as usual being rebuked http://www.retrotrials.com/2014-the-new-bultaco--the-launch-party.html
  19. The Bulto family last night launched 2 electric road bikes at St Pancras Renaissance hotel on Euston road in London . This area of London was like Barcelona on festival night . It was absolutely an absolutely brilliant night. A lot of the old Bultaco factory faces were there , World Champions , snr FIM representatives ,Comerfords staff ,financiers , collectors , the girls, the rose tinted beautiful old family videos , the bikes . What a night !! Best doooo in a long time .... well, since the last good do . I'll post some pics up soon
  20. Ive seen soldering iron type devices that do this sort of mend. They have adjustable heat settings. From what i remember , they are glorified soldering irons , but a little better and some come with different coloured plastic pellets to insert product where needed. Heating / melting plastic to mend breaks does work , but no matter how hard ive tried to get it good the joint is still only 10% of the strength and is brittle. There might be some trick or kit that im missing out on, but i have been to bike shows and watched these plastic welding guys work. The end result isnt that good and certainly not as good as a replacement. Search it on U tube and youll see them im sure.
  21. Ref the pinking and tick over - After lots of suggestions and lots of tinkering with all sorts, i changed the cylinder head insert to a lower compression gold coloured one. This eliminates Pinking completely. The engine is smoother from Tick over up through the rev range. It now revs higher and is much smoother. It revs higher as well. Its a massive improvement. The engine just feels happier. I rode it in a trial yesterday and there's a dramatic improvement. Ok ...the pinking wasnt all t time before , but it was a little annoying. Now ...its all sorted .
