Sherco ,
The mods ive done to my 14 are the same i did to the my 13 bike . Grind off the steering stops to give you an even greater turning circle , but you wont need this if you can hop easily. Wire on the plastic radiator shroud as they can fall off during a good ride. Grind the chain arm tensioner thinner to half its width as with the tyre of running a very low psi it can rub on the arm - only for fussy gits. Ive fitted higher Jitsie bars as well ,making it more upright. Loctite the 3 kick start bolts(do this).Put clear fablon type covering on the frame on each side at boot level to stop anodising rubbing off eventually in mud trials or get some pukka frame guards. I didnt covering this anodising on my last one , but wished i did afterwards
There are more details and photo of the mods to the JTG on my hobby site

Its true Dan. The video is all Jason Finn. A lot of Jason's inspiration came from Jordi Tarres and the suit was Jordi's as well.
-
A guy i know at motorcycle shop in Farnham has one and the engine let go within 5 minutes of starting it. It needed a full rebuild. He had to wait for weeks for it to come back . They should have replaced it , but maybe they couldnt get one. They do look nice though .

I like that new Garibaldi suit. A real modern look. Great video.I only wish my broadband was fast enough to play the Hd

thanks for the photo. That's the photo I wasnt allowed to take when I was there in April. Honda are really changing their tune and being far more open than they have ever been before .
Did you take the photo or was it from w site or magazine ??
Did people really think Honda were selling old stock bikes ?

When I clicked on the above video link it brought up a face book page of I believe the boss of SWM. You can't have seen but underneath the video are many many questions to and from the boss and interested people wondering the same thing as you. Google chrome translates the text from Italian to English automatically.
My understanding of what he says is that he chose to close the company because of trade union interference. I didn't spend ages reading what he said but I will do. You can tell immediately he is an incredibly capable man and he is still very annoyed about it. He made the move into electronics. It's interesting how the name SWM came about. It's all there. I didn't realise that SWM was such a big company. Ok they weren't huge but they make Merlin and Mecatecno with ten employees each look tiny.
I wonder if the old factory still exists ? Anyone know the address I'll pop down there

Yes Shed , i know that you mean.
Getting the marketing guys at Honda to depart from the current culture is just too big an ask.
Their company structure and ethos is to regimented.
They definitely want to sell the bikes though. This Honda launch and the sales coming from it are very important to Honda Barcelona. They have put a lot of work into the promotion. Its had more promotion than any other bike i can remember. There are now breakfasts and test days offered with Bou and Fuji in Barcelona . Barcelona are putting every ounce of effort into doing their bit to make it work. Id bet theyd want them in your local dealers.

If youve ever walked into a Honda car dealership , it will give you a clue as to why this decision has been made. Honda like standardization. Trained mechanics , dealerships with the correct technology, the same carpet tiles and telephone answering method.
Im sure they would say that their way , offers better service and after sales , which id agree with. It doesnt help with the points you have raised though , which are entirely correct.

Yes Enrico , that was a great Event so thanks to Mick and the boys for laying it out.
I was riding like Anne Widdecombe on ice skates. To much power , to little brain Thank God that shower stopped quickly !
-
The highs and lows of Laia saying shes not riding and then deciding too. It could drive a woman to madness
-
Absolutely brilliant footage - thanks for sharing
Those guys rider faster than most peeps these days on modern YZ's
Leather trousers on scrambers
A wall of top 3 models
Two assistants for the sales director
An airport the size of a small supermarket
It had me in stitches - Its Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Oh , he'll be used to that by know. That reminds me ..... i need to bug him tomorrow only a little
-
I broke two ribs enduro riding when I got speared by a branch sticking out. Luckily i was wearing body armour otherwise I would still be hanging there.
I didn't go to the Doctors as I had done some research and knew they couldn't help. If most difficult getting in and out of the bath or bed. After 2 weeks it stopped clicking and 4 weeks or so felt better.
Good luck.

Is Bou 5 points ahead ?
What placing does Bou have to be in if Raga wins, to get the championship?
Maths was never by strong point - just love watching the riding
-
I've just seen the French trial results on the front page of TC for day one and they certainly have put a cat amongst the pigeons.
Raga will be pumped. I hope it doesn't go to his head and he keeps his cool.
It's good to see Fajardo getting a good result for a change.
What the heck happened to Bou and Fuji ? Perhaps he is still suffering from his injury and stitches at the Uk trial. I know he's not fully recovered so maybe this is it.
Dabs had a good result as did Ferrier and Pol in the juniors.
Some excellent Brit results on the youth as well.
Does anyone have anymore info ?? I love this up to the wire stuff . It makes it more interesting

This is the best UK dealership ive ever been to
-
It was just my phone that took the piccies.
Shyted, Im glad its a better brake system. It looks trick thats for sure. The wheel caliper looks bigger and more solid thats for sure.
Is that why its better , i dont know.
I have also owned a 2013 Jotagas and can tell you the differences that ive noticed from riding it around the garden.
The clutch pull is slightly firmer because of a stronger spring . This was requested by the better riders who needed more of an instant grip for bigger sections.
The gearbox clicks more positively into gear. It is as good as any gearbox ive felt
The engine seems more powerful , say by about 10 percent. Its definately noticeable but the delivery is still super soft

Hi Mick,
This is tragic news. I was with Alvaro's older brother Ignacio Bulto from 11am to 3pm in Spain on the day of Alvaro's sad death. Ignacio was not aware. It was only after we left the family house and got back to the hotel. We switched on the Tv and saw reporters standing outside of the same driveway gates on multiple channels that we had just driven out of.
I had never met Alvaro , but from what i hear he loved his dangerous actions sports . He had dated princess's , super models. He had been sky diving for years and hosted a number of Tv programs , some of them still current. He is a huge celebrity out in Spain. He leaves 9 children .
Commiserations to the Bulto family. As Ignacio said to me , as least he went doing something he loved.
-
You got me in the mood for photos
-
Nice one Bones, I havent ridden mine yet either. They look super trick

Jack has a good team behind him at the mo and he has some sponsorship. He's very motivated as well and its part of the Jitsie gang that James Duxbury doors a great job of looking after. It all builds up into a great support mechanism. It's a pity that Wiggy can't ride more . The expense soon builds up. Can't he dive in with other team members to keep the cost down?. Was he asked?
Id guess getting a place depends on many different factors not just that your the best rider. Dougie and Graham wouldn't want to ride that's for sure. Moved onto pastures new. I'm sure no one suggested they would of course.

It looks a great venue Thanks for the info jandyb. I'd come myself but just can't unfortunately. Hope it goes great and I hope Eddie is better and wins

everyone one this page has hit the nail on the head. money is at the heart of the issues. Tim that's exactly what gasgas did when they bounced many of the crew out who started jotagas. Marc told me that there was an over night change in culture and the management wanted all of the white collar workers to have fresh degrees in relevant subjects. If they didn't they were out . It made no difference that the new guys had no experience with motor bikes at all. the important thing was that they had the degree. So they kicked out the guys who had spent their life in the industry and obviously had all the experience and all the contracts. this was the time of gas gas' major refinancing when I wrote online here that the company was up the creek and everyone lambasted me for in correct info:)
Since then gasgas has been owned by the bank entirely.
I don't think this is what is happening to jotagas. It's about wasting money and there not being enough of it. So the same problem as ours happening everywhere else with all the other manufacturers.
Im very careful what I say on this thread as it obviously involves people I know and get on with
the truth is that it is all panning out right now as we go about our day s

Hopefully the boss will realise that he needs Jordi Tarres. A big swaying point for me buying JTG was that fact that it was the Jordi Tarres bike, it was and is Jordi's creation and has his involvement.
Jordi liaises with all the importers along with Marc Arano. Importers know Jordi of old, they trust him , like him as a person , he's a winner and many of the buyers love him.
Its Jordi and Marc who have the relationships with the buyers . The boss doesnt have the same relationship.
Now Jordi has left , but he does say "temporarily" .
I believe hell be back
They are differences which can be sorted
-
They already do develop them. Factories don't develop . The big plans are outsourced
