  1. Jordi doesnt agree with the major 70 % investor on the way the company is run. The problem is between Jordi and this man only. The company will continue making bikes with out Jordi still working for them. In many respects Jordi had completed his job in developing the bike. Future development may take place in house and by a 3rd party. The same 3rd party that develops GasGas and Ossa. It makes more financial sense that having a development guy employed all year around. There is a strong chance that in the not so distant future Jordi will own Jotagas with his amigos and can run the company how HE WANTS. Dont mean to sound like im shouting , im not .Im crying instead

  3. Hi Scorpatic , I think youve answered it yourself. Traditional trials technology works perfectly and the bonus is you can work and service it yourself with basic tools in your own home garage and with NO cost. Its a no brainer for me , i wouldnt buy FI on a two stroke . Ive had experience with no less than 4 fuel injected 2 stroke bikes going wrong , on 2 different brands of bike. Aprilia and Gilera scooters. They were spluttering or just wouldnt start.Often they give you no warning , just start failing badly. After checking the basics on the bike , EVERY time it came down to me having to replace FI parts. Ive mostly had to replace the generic Bosch injectors at £115 each. They milk or clog up , its common. Washing them in petrol or solvent and blowing air at them doesnt clean them enough and get them working again. Thats why they recommend 110 to 1 . I dont believe for one second that thats enough 2 stroke oil for an engine to last a good time. Do the companies want to keep their injectors clean for the warranty period ?.Thats my suspicion. Ive also had to rectify compressor pressure problems on an FI bike. These are all moving components and they wear.Imagine what a hostile enviroment that injector is working in. Sure in the first year or two you will probably be fine , but after that your on borrow time.
  4. Oooohhh , interesting . What could it be about ? Surely its got to be good news considering they've just released a new bike ? Is your source reliable ?
  5. Fb, Honda have always built bike that last longer and they have obviously a reputation for it. Hopefully Honda will bring release a price that entices the masses like the TLR250 did. Whilst they obviously have the knack at building quality bikes , ive come to the conclusion that its often at the expense of competitiveness. Honda,s standard bikes are significantly heavier than the likes of Gassers , JTG, Sherco and everyone else.Personally i like a light bike as it makes it easier for me. For some others , this isnt one of the primary concerns and the Honda isnt that heavy to them. The side effect of a light bike is that the components just wont have the resilience and strength and over time this will tell. The 2 stroke manufacturers could no doubt produce a bike , gaining ground in terms of quality if they had another 10kg to add into the mix , but they are not in that market. For many people , they arent bothered about the extra weight , but for many as well , this is a big issue. So you pays your money and you take your choice.
  6. Sorry to hear about your trouble . Its no doubt down to old age mate. Theyre not built like they used to be with the strength and size of components. Ragas bike will only be a few months old. Shes obviously going to need a strip down before you rider her again Good luck
  7. Thought you Honda Montesa boys might like this
  8. I agree with all of that. Id bet the FIM have had this subject around the board table already and discounted it for one reason or another. The fact is that organisations these days think like businesses and they dont want to spend. Imagine if their net income this year was less than last years .....there would be all hell to pay. Id imagine that Live results section by section would be have extensive set up / annual cost. Yes its not these private sites responsibility to do so but they do it for the love of the sport , and because they want to , although at times it might feel like a chain around their necks. It goes with the territory . You cant be a all singing and dancing trials website offering most things to most men if you dont have the results on. Theyll get a bit of increased traffic from it to help encourage advertising but thats all. Its almost if theyre obliged. Im sure they still all enjoy it. In an ideal World the FIM would provide us with this , that and everything else that regularly gets through the ringer on these threads , but as we all know, it isnt . The private websites fill and niche and take up the slack in a way
  9. Sherpa, I do know what you mean about the official FIM website.Office staff wont work Sundays and as the trial clubs cant change organising bodies , they are stuck with it , and no doubt the FIM knows this. Dont expect any changes soon:) To be honest , i never go there for the results anyway and get them pretty quickly. Certainly within 2 hours of Trials end . The various trials web sites around the World including this one have the results up very quick. Heres the link http://www.trialscen...mpionship-italy
  10. Yes, he rode Ossa I was told that by Vesty 2 days ago. He said "The manufacturers have to pay a fee to the FIM to be listed. If they choose not to pay then the box for the bike is empty!" You might have actually learnt something
  11. The factories have to pay not insignificant sums to have the bike type displayed in the results. Given the financial climate id guess this is the reason why on the why its not displayed The 2nd observation is even stranger. I wonder if it ties in with Dani missing the USA round ?. If what im thinking is correct then that would explain the bike name not being displayed
  12. End of lap one .Bou's whipping them , but there a long way to go.
  13. No idea . Hopefully he's alrightnot hurt and can ride tomorrow. This was the first women's round wasn't it ? Confirmation that Laia is taking time out from trials. Shes not the first woman to win the WC and not carry on I think. I suppose it was a bit ground hog day for her winning all the time I wish I had that problem
  14. Yes . I bet he wish he hadnt bothered. Ha ha

  16. Steveo I'm sure he would get a good reception down under. He didn't mention coming down under but he might be.I'm not sure. I know he's at the Andorra World trial next weekend. That should be a cracking event
  17. Wobble Anyone could come along .All the advertising for this was on the Jotagas uk webpage and also on Facebook . Jordi was in such a fun mood and had a real crack all weekend. Its what memories are made of Hope this helps Ill put some more photos up soon
  18. I just thought id post up a few photos of the Steve Saunders and Jotagas UK Training day that took place this week end. Im a Jotagas owner and love my bike to bits. I feel really proud that this relatively new company have gone to all this effort of staging this superb weekend of hospitality. The weather was kind to us , which made the Spanish guests 7 times World champion Jordi Tarres and Jotagas main man Marc Arano feel more at home There was an excellent turnout by riders and folk visiting. There were trade stands , new Jotagas bikes to try out , all day Trials training sessions divided into 2 groups. They were run by ace riders Joe Baker and Simon Welch. At my age i generally dont learn a lot , as im stuck in my bad habits . The trainers gave me lots of one to one and i feel i learnt a good bit. The younger guys and kids i could see really benefited and were like sponges soaking it all up. There were lots of the latest bits for your bike as well as some freebies. Did i mention the free chocolate cake as well - nice and moist , just like i like it . The new model bikes were there to test ride. My early 2013 is superb , but i could feel the small changes for the better on the later 2013 bikes when i rode the the same model as mine. The highlight was seeing Jordi Tarres riding. Although he didnt do special displays , he was on an off the bikes like a jack in the box.He was helping with bike set up and just there for a chin wag , which everyone loved. There were some serious Tarres fans there , including one guy with a huge Jordi Tarres riding picture tattooed on his arm. Near vertical typical Tarres pivot turns , 270 degree flick turns. He is still so good on the bike. It was superb fun and great to meet so many other riders there as well. Jotagas certainly feels like one big family , thats for sure. Here are the pictures Trials freestyler Jason Finn also popped along , to make us all look really pasty Jordi and Steve having laugh. A real fan Just JTG owners for this photo line up Joe Baker made everything look easy Jotagas meal with a cake for the Boss Jordi after only one whisky as is traditional after dinner in the Uk we tell him Jordan Baker , Birdie and Joe Baker A nice photo - Jason Finn, his mate Steve Saunders , Jordi Tarres and Marc Arano This afternoon and a Jotagas riders photo. Sorry about the clarity. The best trials weekend ive ever experienced One more photo A great photo. I didnt take it , a mate did . This took 2 attempts to get it right. Noone crashed thankfully
  19. Typical .......as soon as I say no the 2014 4rt teaser video is released http://www.trialworld.es/pruebas/modernas/1211-montesa-cota-4rt-2014.html It remains to be seen if its much different .Afterall I'd have expected Bou to have been on it for a good while. You may however be entirely right Martin
  20. There are no new models in the short term pipeline Martin.
  21. Guess what ?............................... Jordi won ha ha haaaaaa Sure there were other classes , but this was his first time at a competition since 1995 ish so was a bit of an occasion. Greeves , its looks such a good event . Im going to have to get down there next and ride my old Merlin
  22. I was wondering about this as well so i contacted someone i know down at the factory . The reason why Dani Oliveras didn't go to USA was because the import license didn't arrive at time and they were not able to get the bikes into the country.I know that other manufacturers had problems as well and it was only by last minute efforts that many of the riders got their bikes in time for the trial. This was the only reason. An administrative nightmare , like Eddy Lejeune's flight to Spain from Belgium being cancelled resulting in him losing the Spanish Championship one year.
  23. I didnt think id ever be seeing this. Its brilliant to see Jordi back on the Beta just having fun. I bet hes still keen to win Great photos
  24. These are pictures from this weekend "2 dias trial clasicas de All" Jordi Tarres does suffer from a back complaint but despite this he competed in his first trial for decades. Surely its a case of the rider that changed the sport , on the bike that changed the sport Practise for next weekends Robregordo 2013
