  1. 10 - 15 minutes is absolutely fine. It never tried to eat the tanks i was working on , but i cant be exactly sure which plastic you are using. Chances are its the same. Just never leave it. Dont worry 0007 is right as a general rule, but with thick coat of 2k sealer it will help a lot . Just drain it down completely after every day on the bike and leave the fuel pipe to carb disconnected so residue can escape . Also leave your fuel cap off. With this simple system , i dont get bubbling anymore. With the tank drained , petrol doesnt have much of a chance to eat in, and bubble the paintwork
  2. Hi Jon I've painted myself and had painted about 10 plastic tanks. I've generally used nitromors but but never left it. I've then scraped the old paint off. An air disc sander also works very well. These diy lecky sanders are next to useless I've found. Use a 2k sealer spray to seal the tank then primer and paint. Afterwards you'll have to drain the tank down after each ride or the bubbling will occur in 3 months. Good luck
  3. Spot on Atom Jotagas are superb bikes.Ross helps show this by the great result in Scotland SDT. Zero mechanical problems with all riders. The mags and papers tests read all the same. I love mine . The 2013 model is brilliant.Starts easily. The 300 engine is super smooth with no zippyness and is great for grip. Its not crazy power at all just smooth even if you grab a handful it comes in smooth. The clutch is very light with quite a long drag from in to out. Its not a switch by any standards.Top spec with S3 head and titanium pipe It steers really well. Suspension is spot on but MOST OF ALL it feels sooo light. The front is so easy to pick up and move around. They ironed out occasional problems that occurred on a some of the 2012 bikes(they were all covered under warranty anyway) and ive found Steve and Sarah Saunders ace support when ordering spares plastics .JTG owners even get free Jordi Tarres and Steve Saunders training days. I mean , its freeking excellent ! I really cant recommend them enough.
  4. Thanks Iron Belly. Its a great video. Does looking at these great videos make anyone else feel inadequate , or is it just me ? If only id practiced seriously instead of messing around. Dream , dream........
  5. Observers will face more hassle and intimidation over their fine calls and the riders and minders will use their tongues more this year than they ever have contesting marks at sections. On a side issue Gas Gas must have leaned on Raga hard to get him involved in the video He hates no stop and im surprised he didnt pull out a protest banner lol. Just imagine if Phillipe Berlatier was around now?. The observers would be running for cover this year .
  6. Turps, Im friends with the founders of Mecatecno in Barcelona and meet up with them each year once or twice for a steak. They still have some 2nd hand spares , so if you pm me a list of what you want ill ask them. Im currently having rear mudguards made for the Skywalker which im told will be ready for June, so again if your interested....... I think there the same as the Amigo

    Rear Suspension

Nice service JSP. Yes ideally these things shouldnt happen but stuff happens to trick new bikes . Its great that Ossa are looking after their customers when its needed.
  8. Spot on Gazza .The MT5 - Cor , now that was a good bike , almost impossible to blow up thanks to its 15mm diameter carb . The poor thing was sucking for air threw a straw.
  9. Gazza , i bought some a few years back for a Fantic and i was very disappointed with them as well.I remember buying them as they were a lot cheaper than Falcons or Rock shock. I learnt my mistake when i got them. They were only good for the bin. In my opinion they are a cheap shock for peeps that wont to save dosh. In future i will fork out the extra and get some pricey ones.
  10. Good luck Sam. Bring back chopping hands off. Bl**dy tea leafs
  11. Hi Chris Ive got a 300 Jotagas 2013 and absolutely love it.Im a novice /intermediate rider down south. I would be a novice up your way where trials are a bit harder. The Jotagas power is very very soft. Ive ridden a Gasser 300 and the Jotagas is much softer. It grips so well as it isn't over powered. Id say the 300 Gasser is a quicker with more aggressive power. Superb in the right hands but more power. The Jotagas handles really well and the suspension is brilliant. Im 13.5 stone and glad i went for the 300. The 250 would have probably been fine as well. Hope this helps. Cheers James
  12. Yes Kramit the bars are adjustable far forwards or far back. Its one of the nicest bikes i have to ride. The front end is very light and easy to pick up. Ive a few of these and Ive always heard the chain click when the suspension compressed as if the chain was jumping of the sprocket for a moment. One interesting wierdo bit about the bike is that as the suspension compresses the chain gets slacker, which is contrary to all other bikes Im aware of. So you have to tighten the chain with only a tiny amount of slack prior to riding. This clicking was the chain jumping teeth as it was to slack when the suspension was compressed. It gets ridden twice a year and isn't quite the show piece model it appears to be in the photo. Not far off though
  13. Heres an excellent new video interview with Adam Raga where he sets his stall out on the new no stop ruling. I know its all been said but authorities have never spoken to the mere mortals. Surely in this case if they had listened to all of the riders they might have listened and not made this huge change.Perhaps its not the riders voice that is the loudest?.
  14. Hagger , you may well have sorted this by now. I have the problem of gears stuck on shafts on my Merlin engines often and find the best solution is to heat the gear wheel up with a blow torch for about 5 minutes. Once it is very hot get some leverage behind it (which is even on both sides) using pry bars or something similar so you trying to pry it off. Then get someone else to knock the end of the shaft which the gear is on. The shock of the impact , the heat and the leverage are usually enough to pop the gear off. The gear should pop off. Make sure you put the nut on the end of the shaft or the gear may fly off and hit you. Protect the end of the shaft you are hitting with a nut or use a softish hammer.
  15. Thanks Jason Ill try and get there again next year. The Garibaldi gear was and still is the benchmark in colour and styling. The one piece suits were then, and still are a real icon of top end trials riding. Not only did i envy the Garibaldi gear but also the 32" waist to get in them:). Thanks again
  16. Jason , its great to hear from you. Here was the Garibaldi shop back in the 90's. Its situated right in the heart of the busiest part of Barcelona. The rent must be colossal. I went to the shop in October last year and this is the shop now. It looks a shadow of its former self. Bring back the colour !!!
  17. The price is slowly creeping up. Anyone care to hazard a guess what they'll go for? £107 i recon. Everyone who knew of Jason Finn is to big to fit in them. They'd be a nice addition to a collection though
  18. A very experienced bike nut and friend has bought one. Ot looks nice and the design has some cool ideas like routing the exhaust under the engine. It seems very narrow. He took it out for first time from Brand new. It stopped without incident but never started again. Now its back being fixed taking some time. I know this is a fairly small industry but Ktm isn't do small. It would annoy me that you don't just get an exchange and not have to wait and have your factory sealed bike opened up by someone who may and no doubt will be vastly less qualified / experienced than the factory. Apparently it is an Fi problem. Nice bike though.
  19. YES JORDI YOUR SPOT ON. It looks good. Call me an old fart but the minders are just as interesting to me. Cabestany's is Gallach as most know and Fajardo's minder is Melcior Corch the former works Mecatecno rider . Im not worthy
  20. From what ive been told , last year Raga's head was in a spin ,he'd lost some confidence and he was having his frame cut and altered regularly. Challenors yellow Beta looked cool.
  21. This is really really sad news. He was my all time favourite motocrosser and poster hero. This was when i was just 15 and hadnt got into trials. His determination to win was just so strong and he fought so hard. His bikes were amazing as well. True works bikes at a time when the factories were throwing money at the sport. He was an inspiration for me and so many others i guess. He's the star of what must be the most famous and iconic motocross picture of all time. I still cant fully take it in now. He just blew the competition away on that jump. Dont you just hate it when people you grew up loving die. RIP George - you will be remembered
  22. Ta, Ive just got to get my JTG registered. That should be interesting !
  23. Bou interview Interesting comment about no stop How has your method of training since reinstated the non-stop? I have not started my coaches for the outdoor world, now I'm totally focused on the indoor. The indoor world begin soon and should be prepared. But clearly the things I've tried non-stop and I would say that is a driving game very forced. - Do you think the non-stop rivals will tighten more? It is the intent of non-stop, group, but we will not know until we see areas of the world. - We know well that the world's top riders do not want non-stop, but still, do you see anything positive? No, I think that mark the zones will not know and will not work at all well. As for the public, enjoy depending on what you select. - Do you think there will be great controversy in the Trials? It will be brutal ... nobody will be happy. Last week at the FIM Gala of Champions 2012, Thierry Michaud told me quote "you can stop for a while ...", I was totally amazed. Michaud told me to stop unintentionally .. and not be punished with fiasco and that everything would be in control criterion, now the judge of area would be much more decisive for the outcome of the trial. With these ideas as you can imagine the Trials will .. - What do you think will happen after the 2013 season? I think the non-stop will last at least three or four years. Whatever happens, do not think it changes anything for 2014.
  24. Does anyone have a list of the Normandale Championship dates for 2013 and a general list of the major trials up and down the country? It would be great if you could copy and paste them up. Thanks in advance
