    2013 Evo

Ive ridden the 2012 and the 2013 250 Beta. The 2013's are much much softer that the 2012 bike. My first impression was that it felt low of power , but it wasnt it is just so flat on the bottom and mid range. It felt as though it was a 125. Open it up though and it goes well , but only if you open right up.Its unlike other bikes because of this. Its a much better power for clubmen than most other 250's. Its very easy to control and is ace in trials due to this. The side effect of this smooth flat as a pancake power is that for me ,it is so boring to ride. Steering lock is slightly less that last year.Riding position felt the same.
  2. Hi Matt, You could have put to much oil on , yes. I prepare my filter like you do , but you just have to be careful in not drowning the foam. I give mine a good spray , but its not dripping with oil. This might have caused your problem. At a guess I put on about 50ml of oil on a small filter,if thats any help. What is very common cause of your problem is you getting water in the carb when you cleaned it.This can easily effect the bike and stop it idling. If you havent been crazy in over oiling it, id take the float bowl off and blow out the jets well .This should do it , but to be honest it is difficult to diagnose over the net Give this ago. Theres a good chance this will sort it out.
  3. All working now but very slow
  4. Freekin heck. If that was a Beta , John would replace that frame.Unless its been doing crazy stuff perhaps try calling Gas Gas tomorrow and asking them for a new one. Mark Watmore snapped his Scorpa in half leaping a ditch. It doesnt happen often so perhaps Gas Gas will help. Keep us posted
  5. Evostik impact adhesive should do it well. Just apply a layer to the sticker and another to the mudguard then leave to dry for 20 minutes. Then apply and hold for a few seconds. Any residue will rub off with your thumbs How many times have you washed it and ridden it?
  6. I AGREE I managed to get a few photos of the 125 in the OSSA R and D room for my eyes only but they told me "No photo please" immediately. Its their bike and they can release it when they're ready. It does look a very trick bike though. All the best OSSA.
  7. It must have been a great laugh to make
  8. Thanks for telling us all how you really feel
  9. Its all about the money. It always is. JTG are selling all they can make. Its a superb bike. Why do they need to spend 100k euro pa (guess) on the junior Wc? The co profile is big enough to sell em all. The Wc is one expensive ego trip when the company isn't going to immediately benefit.
  10. Its hit and miss bondy The golden rule is DONT LEAVE FUEL IN THE TANK AND LEAVE IT VENTILATED with cap off in garage. Id recommend its sprayed in 2k and with a sealer first then primer, top coat and Laquer. All 2 pack resin Internal sealers eventually pickle. Im not aware of any that work permanently when soaked continually. Oh, one more thing don't aggressively take the existing paint off. Its another layer that can help you. Oh - Don't leave FUEL IN THE TANK Best of luck. You will need it. Its the biggest pain in the a i have to deal with.
  11. Kramit - you are right - Is Dabs old enough to be classed as eccentric , as he's loveable enough Your right - this press release was sent out by the factory last night following the natural rumors that would follow Pol going to Sherco . It confirms what youve said above " He says the brand plans, if Pol Tarrés and some new Marc Arañó, Josep Rigau, Joan Claudi Obrador and Freixas Following the signing of Pol Tarrés by Sherco have arisen all kinds of rumors and gossip about Jotagas , which in many cases are furto of ignorance, which Marc Arañó, director of sales and marketing of Jotagas, wanted to tell us the future plans of the brand as well as the case of Pol Tarrés and some new features like the development of a bike tour. Arañó Marc tells us: "Jotagas been on the market as a company (since that was incorporated) 2 ½ years and only 9 since leaving the first moto of the assembly line. During this period, we have manufactured and used 500 units, equivalent to more less 10% market share, could have been 1000, we had orders, but the development of the factory, its chain and suppliers need time to consolidate and we are giving. This three people have been key, Felix Casas (production), and Paco Roldán Claudi Obrador, who was together with Jordi and Jotagas since the beginning of the bike's father, has known bad not being able to supply customers and importers all the quantities ordered and what I do is hand out've tried them all and equally among all the countries with which we work. The 2013 in its three current displacements, is a motorcycle that already offers excellent performance and we do not keep up with the demands received from countries like Japan, UK, Austria and Germany, France, etc ... On a sporting level, we could be present with equipment and importers in almost every country where trial activity has a significant weight, and considering that the bike was just entering the market very positively surprised me the results, starting precisely by Pol, and the title of champions in France Sandrine Juffet and support Berlatier Philipe, several podiums in England with Ross Danby and Steve Saunders, and success in countries like Switzerland, Austria and Belgium and several classic titles with Pascuet Jordi and David Millan, more than enough to be proud and to be calm and confident about the upcoming season. On this last issue, we still have time to see what approach we take, we will undoubtedly maintain current sports structures in each country and are assessing whether or not bet something stronger stepping forward or otherwise, we more time on the latter, I repeat, we are evaluating, but we have not spoken to anyone, whatever they say the rumors. Our priority as a company is to consolidate the production and maintain sports facilities covering a minimum in each of the countries we work with. On the subject of Pol; Sherco is a trademark friend, we have an excellent relationship with most of the people who integrate and respect the decision of Pol, it is logical that this decision has raised rumors and chatter, however, we must say and say from Jotagas, that have little to do with reality. Jordi Jordi Pol Pol is, the role of George in Jotagas is develop the bike and support the entire structure, the Pol train to compete and if possible win, the biggest problem has been that we have asked Jotagas Pol not only train, but will also work with the tweaking and evolution of the bike, no doubt, responsibility for which is amply prepared while acknowledging that it has taken time for his main task, training and racing. The economic issue ... little to say, there are people who years ago took for dead to other factories (our partners) and end reality always will gain the fiction (in this case we could substitute the word fiction by hearsay, ignorance, lack of information, and in some cases, and pardon the expression "bad blood" . Future plans for the brand, enterprise level, we plan to achieve production of 2,000 units of trial watching the current three displacements (300, 280 and 250 cc) and the present 125 by December 2012 and they are working Claudi and Paco. Furthermore, and with respect enduro model, still working on its development, we have three prototypes that work perfectly and will also be the company in December when the final result of this project, I am told, although we can not yet set the date of commencement of production. We are also developing a model that will be born and will catch excursion based on the platform of our trial bike. With this product portfolio, we plan to reach 4000 units / year in 2015 and, to pull ahead with this business plan we have all of the current team and mainly with Jordi Tarrés. " Hope you all had a good trial today. Joe Baker is Jotagas mounted i hear. Was he riding the Normandale today?
  12. Off you go again with your usual mo. I dont doubt for one second that you would have. Shoot first. ..aim later. Hey Dabs Good luck JTG.
  13. Dabs , your tripping yourself up You say - "this was due in the main to the stringent labour laws more than any mismanagement of Bultaco, and there inability to downsize.Strikes were due in the main to lack of cash flow caused by too high costs and the inability to make workers redundant" Bultaco knew the laws ,they knew the stringent labour conditions.............. but still they hired. It was mismanagement. If you know the laws and tie yourself up with to many job for life workers ....then you've mismanaged The Bulto family readily admit they made huge mistakes is hiring too many people. The family knew they were hiring too many but management kept hiring and the family didnt put their foot down and say stop How is hiring too many people on a job for life not mismanagement ? . You also say "Strikes were due in the main to lack of cash flow caused by too high costs and the inability to make workers redundant." Yes , we agree - You would run out of cash with 150+ too many employees , and inability to make them redundant. I spoke with Ignacio and other senior workers for several hours earlier this week. I went there with a good Spanish mate who knows Bultaco backwards. None of this was a surprise to him. Mind you some of the things he did say about Bultaco days were surprising. Ill get round to writing it up and you can pick it apart trying to make it fit your argument
  14. Dabs , Im surprised you dont know the history of Bultacos last years and days. They are very very interesting. Now i dont have my own business but knowing what i know of the World id guess there are huge lessons to be learnt from Bultaco and the years and months preceding the collapse. Simply putting it it wasnt just the Spanish goverment stopping export credits and not just the death of Franco that caused Bultacos problems. The company was built to way big and had a very poor ratio of workers to motorcycles produced. When business went bad the bills were too big each month. The strikers just waded around in the problem already created. I would correct myself and should have said its best to have a reasonable amount of staff. So "It is better to be too small than too big as Bultaco proved". Being to small no doubt can cause a whole range of problems as well no doubt My sources for the above are impeccable and were top men there at the factory as it happened. I hope this helps.
  15. That's good to know. He's got me out of the Poo a few times. Bradford ignitions/malaga. I wonder why he came back to foggy Blighty?
  16. There must be some cheap Jtg up for sale in Rellinars. Arf Arf
  17. Hes a professional who thinks about winning and doing well above everything else. Good luck Pol. Speaking to Joan Friexas earlier they have no other rider immediately lined up but are talking to some. At the mo the company is distributing all it can make. Getting some top rider wont help them with production. They do want to increase but supply chains arnt perfect. Its a constant battle. Im sure Its better to be too small than too big, as Bultaco proved
  18. Ive been in Catalunia for the past few days for my site. There's shed loads going on in the trials World. It'll all come out through the proper channels-i think ;o)
  19. If its alloy i think you'll be able to bend it back after heating it right up with a blow torch and save yourself cash in the process Good luck
  20. Its a brilliant bit of footage. Thanks for uploading it. What ever happened to the winner. He rode for Honda later and then?
  21. I've tried cheap tyres before just hoping some Chinese factory found a way for knocking out a quality tyre for half the price. Unfortunately they haven't and they were junk. I think they were called Midas. They look good in the photo but that's where it stops. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. I do however hope i get proved wrong
  22. If you can easily push your bike all the way down with your hands at the back end,and it wasn't like this before, it sounds to me like your spring Or linkage has snapped. Give it a good look over If it bottoms out when you bounce up and down on it then it just needs rebuilding. Take it along to a shop if your not sure or get a knowledgeable mate around Good luck
  23. Sparky, please keep us updated on how they perform mate. Hopefully theyre better than the other alternatives out there. Chewy - Do you know if Michelin will still make the x lite ?
