  1. Re Ross riding the World rounds, ive had it confirmed today that he will...... not be riding them . LOL
  2. Sufted - Theyre not in the UK yet . I think theyre expected here by mid October Dabs - messages cleared:)
  3. No Dabs , your not reading me right. Im suggesting that Ross might sign up for the World rounds next year , NOT someone like Fajardo who obviously will be expensive. So if the announcment does come out , they are not going wrong like Ossa as its a great opportunity for Ross and wont cost Jotagas the earth as Ross is starting out on the World stage. Secondly you say "before the bike is ready". The bike is ready. Pol Tarres hasnt had problems has he? I havent had problems with my 2013. Some 2012 models had problems, but that was the first year of production and they say theyre fixed . Ive got every reason to believe them , as i havent had a single problem and neither have a couple of mates who own them. So last seasons news , is exactly that . Im not aware of 2013 bike customers who've had problems , are you? Your right on them selling only a handful though , but that is because theyre sending a large proportion of the production to Japan. The importer here wants more for waiting customers for 250's etc. Theyre a long way off, no doubt making it all pay. Given that Pol will be travelling to the WC anyway, the committed financial backer and the Spanish federation helping the additional cost isnt as huge as it might be. Like Paco Bulto said " The public follow the chequered flag" and Jotagas will know they need a rider showing the bike in the adult WC.
  4. Steve Saunders is at/just returned from the Jotagas factory with Ross. They need an adult rider for the Wc next year. There's a fair chance there might be an announcement soon
  5. I agree. Its known as bull sh**spray. Mind you....some need a bit of make up.
  6. Its time to stop This thread has lived its life. Shirty has been punished by the result and these views. Everything that needs to be said has been said.Shirty will have learnt a lesson from this whole deal. Going over this business any more is looking like overkill and won't achieve anything. So he screwed up. Him and Gas Gas UK have done good for the sport. Isn't it time to move on?
  7. Try a Jotagas as well.Ive ridden mine about 8 times with practicing . I love it and wouldnt go back. Its not given me any problems at all. A few mates have ridden mine and recon the engine is softer than the Beta. The bike is so light and the suspension is really springy and helps trick riding. The build quality is very high and everyone that sees it is well impressed. It steers better than any other bike ive had, just cuts a good line on cambers. The company produce tiny numbers of these, but with a top rider i recon they would better the other companies sales.
  8. Ive just bought a pair. They're £200 bar a few pennies. Im sure you might be able to get a bit of discount if your local dealer got them in , if they know you . I ordered mine from Trialsdirect only as they said theyd send me retro Gas Gas T shirt which was only £13, not even 10%. So i agreed. Then it didnt come through!!!!!!!!!!!!. When i phoned them they said theyd check and they emailed me saying they dont offer free T shirts !!!!. I replied politely explaining ....and they didnt even reply. I wont be using them again. Not happy . But as for the boots , they are the most comfortable ive ever owned and seem to offer heaps of protection . A certain large auction site has them for the same price.
  9. Your best bet is by contacting Jim Snell at Gas Gas USA. He has lots of old stock and has the same model as your bike. The trouble is , i have been told that he will not export as he feels he is treading on Shirty's toes(id imagine theyd be sore at the moment-LOL) so if you decide to buy from this guy it will have to be via a dealer over there or a mate. Good luck
  10. Its a tough decision for the coc to make but he obviously thought his decision was justified. Before this decision was made im sure he'd have spoken to as many persons as he thought necessary to confirm the version of events. He could have dealt with it in a warning but thought the 5 was proportionate. I have little doubt that what's reported happened. Its unlikely the coc got the version of events entirely wrong. I doubt the coc has any axe to grind. Shirty however has. Was a 5 the right decision or should the observer instructed Shirty to put the rocks back. That's not realistic. A significant penalty of a 5 was, its just a huge pity it ruined Browns year.
  11. Ive found that there's sometimes no point in starting to strip the paint. Just clean the engine. Key it up and smooth off the edges and spray. The old paint will give a good base if its on properly.
  12. The good compression causes the kick starts to snap. The engines do get rattly easily , so thats normal. The price of the kick starts is not
  13. All of the Gearnes and Hebo look the same to me. I hair a good pair of Gearnes but tried the Alpines. The grip much better. The toe caps are reinforced. They're more comfy and have far more ankle support. In my opinion the are much better than my Gearnes which did look just like the Hebos.
  14. With Xlites being so good already, would Michelin really go to the bother of making different tyres when trials is such a small market? I think not . Its not as though Michelin get the spin off sales from trials that they get from GP or Superbike sponsorship to make it worth their while.
  15. I bought some Alpine stars yesterday from Shirty. Hopefully they'll look after my pinkys. They look to offer more protection than others and the advice was well received. Expensive but they're up for a bit of a deal.
  16. Thanks for your recommendation My Gearnes offer no protection to my feet when they are wet. They go like chamous leather. I my as well be wearing slippers. Not that id admit to having any lol. Fractured left ankle 14 days ago. Big Toe nail falling off. Protection for my feet is my no one priority. Which ones are best for foot protection? ta
  17. Hebo are selling some boots made out microfibre. Here they are http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=140649265080&index=11&nav=SEARCH&nid=66743205683 They are pretty good value at 140 pounds. Im tempted, but i don't know anything about this microfibre and whether its any good for wear an tear. Im told they're light but do they last as well as leather. Will they handle being jet washed? Anyone had a pair?
  18. Im not bothered about the language. I just love the section tape LOL.
  19. Bigger footpegs madey twinshock much easier to ride. Best mod ever goes to the Rekluse clutch for the YZ.
  20. Fat b those photos are brilliant. Thanks for posting them. Thats just what this thread needs. Loads of photos. Cheers I love Ragas face as he landed from that leap - looks terrified. Id have loved to see Jarvis on the Husaberg. What was going on with Bou in the last shot? Keep em coming
  21. Last weekend we had our home World Championship round. Trials is a fairly small sport but Tc is the largest English speaking trials website. Why is it that there just doesn't seem to be much interest in the whole event?. Where are the photos from the crowd?.Where's the reports of what they liked, saw and heard?. I dont get it. Is there no interest in the Wc? Why is this thread on our round so tiny? Im genuinely wondering if there is really much interest in the Wc anymore, period. What do you think?
  22. JAMSPORT in Farnham. Wherever im really stuck on an engine rebuild (usually getting crankshaft tapered gears off or a bugger of a tight nut) they help me out for nowt. I repay the favour with business as their prices are good
  23. Copemech , you obviously have a lot of knowledge on this matter , but a number of things things would worry me about sealed bearings. Firstly when the engine gets very hot , the seal has to be very efficient and keeping the lubricant in , for all of its life, showing no wear at all. I can just imaging the lube getting out and being burnt and the bearings running dry. I would have thought Samy would be far better off for long term reliability with open bearings . As long as the design as such, allows the mixture can come into contact with them , then the lubrication is there. Samy ,like copemech says the reliability of the bike is down to your own maintenance. Im sure you do this already , but just keep your fuel cans spotless internally and clean your air filter after each trial. But this is no more than we all have been doing for decades. I dont think you've got anything to worry about and are better off now.
