  1. Just for fun Can you name these riders on this cracking poster? They must have all had to travel home separately like the royal family LOL Good luck- its not that easy I recon Please don't spoil it , if you have the poster at home(with riders names)
  2. What are the best National and International Shows for the off roader? Ive only been to Telford and the Dirt bike show so dont have much of an idea of the others. Id be interested to know what Bike Shows there are here and abroad that are good in the off road department Thanks
  3. Copemech Its a suggestion ,but its closing the gate after the horse has bolted. If the vapours through the f/glass ,external sealer wont stop it , unless its thick and neither will 2k anything.Petrol will bubble 2k easy. If there was any external sealer that was worth its salt, it would be so thick the preperation after it was applied to make it look half decent ,would be horrific. I would only consider a thick internal sealer and stop the petrol even touching the porous f/glass.Ive had huge problems with this recently and believe im right on the money with my advice
  4. I know a quality sprayer in Liphook , Hants. Hes a motor cycle nut as well. He doesnt do airbrush work , but standard paint jobs, metallics ,pearls ,etc Have you made sure you have thoroughly sealed the tank internally as your paint job will be ruined by vapour coming through the fibreglass and bubbling up the paint.Dont think i wont happen.Saw a lovely Bultaco the other day with beautiful tank paintwork with huge blister in the middle - gutted. I have had experience of this bubbling in both fiberglass and plastic tanks. Its especially worse these days due to the increased ethenol found in petrol. From experience i wouldnt consider painting without sealing first.
  5. Monty , Vee rubber are good tyres.Ive been riding for 25 years and have experience of all brands. Vee Rubber grip very well and i wouldnt hesitate in recommending them. Ive tried them on a twinshock bike of mine was very pleased with the results i had.I ride mainly on mud , not rocks. They wore very well , but i dont tend to rev the hell out of my bikes , spinning tyres out at the start of sections etc. 3 club trials later they still have a sharp edge
  6. Thats the best trial video ive seen in years. It had me in stitches. Twas when men werent nancys like them are nowadays with them Zboxes and and things LOL
  7. A wonderful video. Some of the clips are from elsewhere with an ELO background track. So many unusual bikes from tiny companies were buzzing around then - facinating
  8. The Randonne is good value.Id almost consider getting one ,but then i realised i dont qualify as im not quite an old duffer yet
  9. This is a start and a beginning of what might come, but .... Most men are competitive. Men aged 15 to 70 are all pushing for their best chance at a class win. Does this bike have a competitive level of power for anything other than twiddling around the woods?. If you can afford the petrol to get to the event , then you can the afford the petrol to ride around. Why would you buy an ebike when you want to be competitive ?. If the land owner is happy with petrol bikes on the land, then again why would you buy an ebike , if you want to be competitive?. If the clubs and centres arent telling you to buy an ebike , then why would you , especially as you want to be competitive?. I do understand that they have less noise impact and certain land owners will favour that , but the noise isnt mentioned when im talking to land owners for the event i run. They are just concerned about soil erosion . Eventually , there may be e bike classes ,e bike trials but its going to take ages and i dont see the demand. Maybe im wrong? Discuss
  10. Contact Bill Pye on 01642 722378 www.Frankfieldfantic.co.uk or Bill Wight www.fanticTrials.co.uk (0)1934 510333 If anyone has info and parts it will be these guys The clutches were hydraulic, they used cycle parts from what i remember. They are a capable bike in the right hands. Good luck
  11. Monty , there arnt any rocks down here , just mud and roots.I get your point though. I think and hope itll be fine Re the bike - I love the design overall. Its got a beautiful frame with good lines and the quality looks great . To me it needs to shout its brand more with a different colour scheme. Saying that the colour scheme looks good . These are lowish quality photos and the colours are off , but we cant expect any more on the day of release within 30 mins of release , can we. Thanks to Steve for sorting them out. Im 100% sure itll pop more in the flesh. Red always looks great against white. Its not a daring colour scheme though - but do people want that? Where are they hiding that petrol tank?.I think the exhaust front pipe will look better in the flesh when you can see the welds like the Ossa. Its not chrome and thats a bonus. Ive heard that it will weigh 64KG. Will it be fuel injected? Hopefully easier to start than the OSSA. Would have prefered a tiny tiny silencer.I know there is back pressure and thermo dynamics to consider , but Sherco seem to get away with it. Surely theres a weight saving there. Overall , its a great bike. I think looking at it , the price deserves to be in line with the normal bikes - Gas Gas Beta , but i think theyll ask Ossa money Does it rock the Trials world like the new OSSA did ? - not quite as much me thinks , however the fact that Tarres has designed the bike and its niche in small numbers makes it desireable for me. Releasing quality studio photos asap would be a good move
  12. Pol Tarres in the official rider The bike looks sweet. Available in small numbers i understand. My order is already in.
  13. Yep , we know........LOL . Im really looking forward to seeing the spec and pics.....later today !?
  14. I know its a pain , but draining tanks and carbs after each ride would stop the symptoms. It's not to much bother
  15. This cut and paste from Steve Saunders website cuts out some of the speculation going around. Another reason to go to Sheffield. JTG trials and enduro bikes will be arriving in December, starting with just a few bikes to be used as my demo bikes. then moving forward to the new year with small shipment each month arriving. these bike will be in short supply. I will be announcing test days around the country, that will take place early next year. We are hoping to get a bike up to Sheffield indoor trial for display purposes. These bikes will have their own designed and produced engines, we are not using another manufacturers motor. Jotagas is nothing to do with Gas Gas, the word GAS means go in Spanish, jota is the initials of the directors
  16. I can understand the arguements , but i for one would hate to see the weight race stop. It'll be a sad day if bikes get heavier , not lighter. Making bikes lighter wont effect reliability as the factories know we wont buy and as for sections getting harder.....they arnt at my club and centre trials and thats all im bothered about. The WTC is a good show , but has little bearing on my life
  17. dadof2 thats a pretty commonsense approach but new bike buyers and factories wont agree Most peeps want technology to go forward not backwards , whilst keeping bikes reliable.2nd hand bikes are always available for a less costly ride. Weve all bought bikes on the grounds of them being better and lighter. If they arent getting lighter there will be LESS of a reason to buy a new bike every year or so. Manufacturers might struggle with sales as therell be less of a reason to upgrade. If the FIM weight rule is scrapped , in 10 years well have a 55kg bike .
  18. In my opinion , theres no need for an alloy frame.Sure they are well crafted and look nice but... they are more expensive to produce, they dont offer any benefit as they need more bulk and mass to acheive the same strength. 1 - Having an alloy frame is just manufacturers differentiating themselves from the competition. Could you imagine Beta without an Alloy frame - nope. Its just there way of remaining different .If they had a steel frame they could pass the cost saving onto us 2- Steel does the job at a better price and when the bikes a few years old and you want to weld some new footpegs on , or mend a crack , you can doing yourself with a cheap arc or mig welder. 3- The minimum wieght of a trials bike of 66kg is already upon us , so whats to point of an alloy frame anyway? We should scrap the minimum weight rule, but keep the rules in place banning titanium and carbon handlebars , which would of course assist only the wealthy race teams.
