  1. Yes I was impressed by the teams at TRS. Jordi Tarres keeps a step back from the teams and let's them keep control but obviously steps in should it be needed. Pol Tarres team is very good , but Ragas team is so professional. It's very much boss and employee. It all makes sense that this should be the case. He pays them well , more than they'd get elsewhere and they know Adam wants no excuses. .. Just get it done. These guys do it. No messing about , no coffee breaks ,no siestas .. Just getting the work done. Ragas face tells it all . This service from his employees is what he expects. He obviously lays it all out for them. Whilst social media portrays him in one way , he's a cool and serious cookie when it comes to Trial competition.
  2. Im sure you would be able to top it up in place if you had a bendy nozzle on the bottle . There's space
  3. Yes its the nuts mutz. On day one the rear caliper came loose and flapping around in the 3 spoke wheels broke . Luckily i found the caliper on lap 3 , but in the meantime had to ride the 10 severe course with no rear brake - OUCH. There was one particular downhill where i could only stop by running into trees or race crashing bad !! Pol runs a Keihin with an enlarged float bowl. Apparently the extra space in the float bowl is only needed for large splats and jumps offs.....or perhaps he's just copying Adam. There are a lot of mind games going on and riders insisting in miniscule changes to there bikes such as filing the circumference of the bars down by .02mm (as the mechanic whispers - its just in his head - lol) - but trials as well as other motorsports needs the head to be in the right place.
  4. I recently spent 4 days with the TRS team before and during the Spanish World Trial at Cal Rosal. It was a bit ironic as i was trundling around after latest bikes on on my 1988 Merlin , which was a a bit worrying on the downhills. The whole weekend gave me quite an interesting insight into the way the teams operate , the dynamics , servicing schedules and top rider approaches to their work. I was quite surprised .Ive put it down here on my hobby web. http://www.retrotrials.com/the-inside-story---ragas-team--preparing-the-factory-trs-motorcycle-of-adam-raga.html
  5. Yes . All true. I have interviewed Jordi Permanyer the Montesa boss before , during and after the Honda buy out. He confirms this. Nice little stories surrounding them. I'll get round to uploading it soon.
  6. I could see Jake keeping you busy . You have a good production line going there
  7. He was incredible . That bike had so much power. He demolished so many of the sections. Good on him !! . Pol , who i was down there helping had a good 8th place yesterday . The team was real happy. Unfortunately it was not repeated today. 2 crashes and he just wasn't quite on it. Very upsetting for him and his team.
  8. Unfortunately this was rider error on this section for Adam at the first part. I remember it well. It was a good natural section.
  9. There is more to this than meets the eye. Is the observing consistent ?. Unfortunately not always
  10. Bou was 2nd today. He's just amazing. His shoulder is def injured though but it doesn't seem to matter to the results to much. He wouldn't hold his trophy up at the end like the others. I'm told this is the movement that's the issue ... so not as important as it could have been. He just can't get anything out of the kitchen cupboards back at home. The sections were mostly on the woods with only a few spectators. Big jumps and leaps.Huge huge climbs going on forever . Really imaginative thought out and much better than a lot of the World trials ive been to. The sections looked and rode really well. I think they were a little easy though to be honest. Not for me obviously .. but for those guys. I wiped my rear caliper off on the first lap but luckily found it on the 3rd. It's like an enduro between sections. Just flat flat out with some pretty hairy downhills with no back brake. Great fun. Roll on tomorrow
  11. Bou is out practicing but is clearly suffering and was neither practising the huge stuff and not out there for as long as the others. He's accessing according to the boss. Based upon the fact that he was put there I recon he'll be out tomorrow but at much less than 100 %. There was a minutes clapping and remembrance medals given out at the start in memory of Martin Lampkin.Good job by Jake Miller
  12. From what I'm hearing Toni's injury after training is nasty. I'm hearing he's not riding the opening WC round in Spain and it won't mend on its own.Might be a surprise turn up , but I doubt it. It's clearly a pity for Toni and throws the opportunity of a rare win to someone else.
  13. Was there a new model out ?
  14. I blxxdy well miss mud ... and stop allowed on a time limit straight forward sections and Big big hills and Sections actually worth watching and The days before this rear wheel hopping bs.
  15. Yes get a TRS . Given the choice I would.
  16. Exactly Andrew. Nothing is simple and straight forward . Just one perfect example of this are the so called 'bike orders' to the factory that were never fulfilled. The factory say their requests were NOT satisfied. That's WHY they didn't arrive in the Uk. It's only when you get both sides of the argument that you start to see the full picture , but this is just one point. As Jotagas don't talk a lot you don't hear their side so people just go with the uk slant on the story. I believe Jotagas / Jgas will continue just fine. I'm told this bankruptcy relates to old matters being finalised now.Time will tell but my monies on Jotagas surviving . The boss isn't a quitter unlike some. I know that the truth and finding the full story gets forgotten in journalism but you'd have thought that todotrial and tmx would have picked up the phone or emailed the factory . But they didn't bother. If they'd done so they'd have been told the other side of the story and that there is hope for the marque ...... but they didn't bother. Tmx didn't even contact Vince not so far away and a stalwart of trial. I guess jotagas don't pay for advertising .... and money talks loudest ... and others do. I wonder where they got the story from ........I can make a good guess . It's strange that a Catalan based website finds an article in an Aragon newspaper lol. Get my drift !. Sure the story was true ... but it was fed .... but they just reported the doom , not the factories view. I'm told and I believe there's great hope. Ssdt factory entries. A new 17 bike. This morning a recieved photos of 6 more prototypes. The boss won't relinquish control and jotagas I believe won't go anywhere. Stay small .. focus on r and d is what he loves and does the trials side for. You'll see .....I hope

    Trs Bike Unveiled

I don't think there's much doubt. It will be an excellent bike.
  19. The factory are telling me that the upshot is that they are still producing bikes and will continue to do so. Jotagas won't die ... Just continue producing in small numbers as they have always done. A statement is due from the factory soon.
  20. I saw this. I'm very sad if its true . Will see what the boss has to say. Might be strategic to lose debts .... Just a possibility ... More out of hope than any knowledge of mine. Here's hoping. .... thinking aloud ...... was there any point in continuing as it was . I'll hear soon I'm sure
  21. Buy them before they're gone
  22. I prefer the feel of a dellorto . Keihin are a little too good for me and are too instant ie not ideal for clubmen in my opinion
  23. I agree with some of what you say , but whether it's 6 or 10 pounds is not going to make a difference to whether people ride trials.
  24. The cold and wet mornings ride up to chair lift seems to last forever. Christ !!... that ride wakes you up
