  1. I sure do But you said "You're both ignoring any contribution he makes to R&D." . Forgive me . Jordi is doing the R and D , so riders Pol and Adam dont have to. Its very unlikely their own bike mods will filter down. The riders are private and work away from the factory. Salva , Jordi's mid week mechanic and minder only visited the factory once, in all those years !. Sure , if a brilliant idea comes out of a riders mod ....maybe it'll feed down.....but that's rare. The interviews cover this.
  2. You are on another planet . That made me laugh though ...i'll give you that
  3. So right .The spaces on the trials circuit are so limited and getting smaller as the years tick by. If it wasn't for these small independent marque's the World Championship entries would be so much smaller.
  4. Photo i took at the Montesa factory , Barcelona . I presume they were Dougie's bike / s .
  5. I hope so Crazy. Pol Needs a good year this year to prove without injury that he is improving. Trs won't just carry him. Sure there are benefits to having your uncle as the R and D boss but this deal didn't come as easy as we might imagine. He has to prove himself. 80,000 euro (as I was told by very experienced team manager)including minder for one trial season is a lot of investment and the factory need results. Sooooo I hope to see an improved rider .... but track side talk is easy. Good luck Pol
  6. Pol is now fully recovered from his leg injury which he incurred early in the 2015 season . He had trained hugely both on and of the bike and I believe his riding looks stronger than ever. I think this is the year Pol will prove himself and as a sponsor and friend I hope he does ride well and show us what he can do
  7. Necessity is the mother of invention In 20 years time you Ossa boys will laugh - 'You'll never guess what we had to rig up to start our bikes' Good on you ! . I wouldn't even start to worry about spares . Your combined minds (seriously) here could overcome almost anything.
  8. Ha ha your right .. but naaaaaa. It's not my bag baby
  9. Yes the smoothest power I've ever felt on a trials bike. That's got to help riding grip.
  10. That looked the best event of last year !

    Trs Bike Unveiled

I know the situation and have said it. The importer does as well, because the bikes are not here. It's the elephant in the room. Everyone in business likes to keep things upbeat and talk of Delays isn't that. I think this is most of the reason ... but there is more There should be press releases once a month. People would be happy with that .That's what is normal. People would know what's happening .
  14. An interesting take Neil. Unfortunately there little to no chance of Ossa returning. They're good bikes, very innovative , but they did have reliability problems and they spent cash like Emelda Marcos. The business plan made no sense at all - none .It was an udder to milk the grant system.... that's all. The current Spanish Princess is up in court for a similar grant swindle. Other Mc companies down there are also at it. The OSSA guys are loyal , and i guess the troubles they had bound them closer together.Sadly id recommend that Ossa guys gather together the fancy electric injector gear bits just in case. We'll see Ossa again in another 40 years time when someone wants to rekindle the marque again. I hope some billionaire comes and snaps it up. ... but let's face it. .. it ain't going to happen.... because there is no money in Trial unless you have the market

    Trs Bike Unveiled

Great news to get the marque in the headlines , but the plan was ,as i was told by boss to send 3 prototypes out to the corners of the earth (Inc UK) , test them , obtain feedback , modify over a few months and then start production. Given that the proto deliveries have not happened and that production is infinitely harder than making a few bikes to test and that the UK importers above delivery date has past I suspect we are in for a long wait before we see any bikes to buy. Either A - they will continue as planned above Or B - they will skip sending the 3 bikes out for local evaluation My guess , is B. The financier will want income , despite any reassurances we might hear .... This will be the case. The importers will also be wanting the sales. Production is the hardest part , because suppliers have other customers and small orders won't go to the top of the pile. Then ... as soon as they arrive they'll need more and the wait starts again. The gathering of perfect quality controlled components is very hard. 50% of some products are returned. Just that one item is stopping production and imagine problems with many many parts. It's a nightmare. The Jotagas boss (ex GG boss) rolls his eyes with dismay and regards production as very hard and he's been doing it since 1980. If you have enough staff (cash) then you can employ staff to order and chase ... but if the factory manager is also responsible for stock ordering and chasing ... it all grinds to a halt and you become abundantly aware of the size of the task. Trs will be dalm good bikes and they will get bikes here to sell, but this is why there are delays .
  16. Thanks for the video. That TRS flies when he dumps the clutch
  17. Today , Derbi motorcycles doesnt exist. It isnt a company. The Spanish factory closed . All but a few of the workers were made redundant. The heart and soul is gone .It is simply a sales department and a few marketing geeks in the Italian HQ of Piaggio , unfortunately nothing more . I doubt Piaggio bought or hired 1 square foot of factory / office when they bought the brand . To me thats not a company . Interesting about the Bultaco connection . Suzuki and BMW also has ideas of taking over Bultaco, so there was plenty of competition
  18. Raga seems to have been practicing a huge amount on the TRS riding just really technical stuff..... What isn't technical these days ?. Contrary to what's been said already Ragas bike has been tuned to his liking and improved but it's not had huge moneyspent on it like Bou's Honda which is of course uber special .Raga's bike is a prototype and things will be different from the standard bike , when it arrives..... but not by as much as you might think. The team hasn't had the time and is sensible with money. Sure , it has trick suspension from his GG..... now that was a special bike , but the chassis is standard. The engine is a test bed for the production model An amazing result. I've seen the effort and this is just one of those few moments of happiness and satisfaction . Well done. .. Long may it continue
  19. Yes I would. The bikes are the best I've ridden , are trick and more exclusive from my view point than the others. The company is secure with a new factory. They update their bikes every year and have a new UK importer Vince from Haven who is a very down to earth friendly guy. On top of the others there is also a new French importer soon to be released. You can buy one now in THE UK. As I've repeatedly kept saying Jotagas won't die. It is a small company ticking along just fine and it's bosses passion. They make a profit and with small over heads they don't need to sell . My only criticism of them is that their publicity is almost non existent although they do have a new website. They don't seem to concerned about advertising more as every bike they produce is sold. Excluding the UK . I know some importers have been waiting a while for their bikes. For all the reason's I've started I wouldn't buy anything else.
  20. Just before Christmas i got the tip off that Lluis Gallach's Alfer was up for sale. Up to this point it was just one of those factory bikes that had disappeared and i had no idea where it had gone to . Neither had Lluis. So , before it got the chance to disappear once again i went down there to grab some photos and speak to the owner. He turned out to be Felip Gonzalez who built the Alfer and Scorpa bikes with Albert Juvanty. There are some nice old photos in this report on my hobby web. http://www.retrotrials.com/rediscovered---the-factory-alfer-of-lluis-gallach.html
  21. Yes , most of us have been around long enough to know this. You can still however read between the lines. This test offers just that
  22. There is a decent detailed test ride report on the Vertigo usa Facebook page. Well worth a look The biggest impression that they're putting over is that the power is just massive.
  23. Hebo who were owned by Josep Pibernat until the mid noughties never made anything , they just sourced.
