Being in love with the build Quality on my 240 , I want a new FANTIC Too... has any news been released or leaked about the supposed
Four stroke ????
Glenn
-
I must be abnormal then ... I started on four-strokes, when honda first started building them. Just about every model produced for consumption, and had never riden a two-stroke trials bike until my thirty year hiatus was up and I bought my used 83 240 pro a couple years ago and had to learn how to ride trials all over again. The other way is harder I think... I wish I could afford a 4-stroke but at my age and commitments I'll just keep riding vintage and twin-shock events. (unless I win the lottery!!)

But remember ; we love all that you do for us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a 14 year old I was at the event in 75 and my brother @ 16 competed in it ! He was the kid with the nice full page photo in cycle world !!!
Ragy shirt and all ... So I think I may (powers that be helping) miss the ITSA championship in tn. and take my kids to visit their greatgrammie
in mass. and bring my trusty fantic and ride your event (where i rode a few back in the day !)...
But is the legondary Don Sweet gonna be there ? I bet his kids and/or grandkids ride ?
He was my idol when I rode in the netra on my mini trail yammer when i was a kid and then I moved up to a tl125.............
Boy I miss New england !
Hope I can be there !

If Bob did lay out the sections ... he always makes them class apropiate and does a wonderfull job (imho)...
Very rarely will anybody clean them all ! always out to make us better riders !!!!
Glenn

Before you get into the electrics, take off the carb and clean it good !! all jets and passages !!!! Then maybe clean up the wiring ?
Glenn
-
This is all so True !!! lol...
But I think we all do it to satisfy ourselves and nothing else !
But the freindships and fun can't be beat !
Young or old !!!

I just received a set of progresive fork springs in the post to go with my new falcon shocks and was curious as to which end of the fork spring is the top ? the tight wound end or the loose wound end ? or does it not make a differance ?
Thanks , Glenn

What martin , you have never seen the 50 mm shocks !!!!!
Lord I can't wait for my falcons to arrive !!!!
Glenn

All beginers of any age should start riding with all the trials basics !!!!! The control and feel for the bike required for trials makes any form of riding a peice of cake ...
I may be able to meet you guys at TTC this summer ?
Or Shooting creek ?

As I sit here getting older by the second ... at 46 and raising 3 kids on my own , the eldest 13 ! I am thankful for every breath I take and wish I had taken better care of myself when younger !!!!
But after a 30 year hiatus from trials (but not bikes , alot of desert racing) , I came across the 83 240 pro that I bought for $200.00 w/a parts
bike and have rediscovered what made me love bikes in the first place !!!
And I am most thankful for the ITSA . (www. twinshock.org) for giving someone like me who has major responsabilitys every monday morning,
A place to go and do something just for me , with like minded folks , who enjoy the finesse of no hop , no stop , run what ya brung trials !!!
One of the best things for me at a ITSA event is watching some of the older gents on triumphs , arials , bsa's etc , riding so smooth and gracefully with a big smile under their helmet , and hoping when my kids are in college I can find a cub to build for some fun !!!
I may only get to go compete once or twice a year but my kids seem to understand that I have to do something just for me , once in awhile...
And yes being a certified master mech. in todays world running a busy 1 man shop (w/apprentice) My body and brain hurt almost everyday !
Except when I'm working on or riding my faithful italian sweetheart !!!
Glenn
And it's great mental therapy too !!!
-
Too cool Jay !!! and my x-ray vision tells me you've probly already have some of B&J racings hodaka flywheel weight in the little hopper !!!!
TWINSHOCKS ARE TRIALS !.!.!.
Glenn

From the other side of the pond ; All I can truly say is that the " enthusiast spectators "(muppets) , Must wake up and understand that they are
risking the end of the holy grail of trials with their lazy selfish actions . Report them , have law at the trail heads if need be , Whatever it takes !
I haven't had the chance to even see the ssdt., and I really want to .!!! There is no Finer , richer history filled event on the planet to the best
of my limited knowledge ! It is one of (or the ) oldest organized motorcycle competitions still happening ...
Would pitchforks be allowed ?
-
I looked at my stuff and I don't have one ! Did you try trials nuts in Utah ! I've picked up a few strange peices from him , always more than
Fair !! Or B&J Racing in tenn. ? They have all kinds of odd parts about the shop ...
Glenn
-
Had To Speak up on this one ...
If you all go look at the classes and rules at www.twinshock .org , I think you will see the founders of the organization (IMHO) got the classes
and rules about perfect ! And speaking of specials , check out this month's bike of the month . It is a working work of ART , and is still
withen the modern twinshock rules .
