Long time no chat mate !

Then there are the blokes like me that have truly psychotic ex wives out in the wild (just got released from jail so I will only state what country I'm in for the safety of my children !.!.!...
And those I communicate w/ regularly here , I'm sure realize where I'm at !
Glenn
-
Thanks Lee , I was just curious ! I have a complete spare 240 motor w/a fresh build on it if I need it !
Glenn
-
Lee ; I just have to ask ! can a 300 top end be mated to a 240 bottom end ?
Glenn
-
Dan ; That is a world champ in the making !!! Just look at the concentration on his face as he decides how to
clean the section !!! GREAT PHOTO !!!
Glenn
-
All I can say is my 240 pro is the sweetest twinshock bike I've ever rode...And that I'm installing a set of 200 top fork clamps to (as i am told ) improve the already superb steering !!! IMHO Fantic changed the way trials was ridden by the masses and they built the Finest all around twinshocks out there ! Just the actual build quality of the old girls is amazing !!!
Get one and you'll see !!!!

Crank Seals leaking ? (trying to burn gear oil !?)
Glenn
Lee we were typing at the same time ! Brilliant minds must think alike !...
Glenn
-
Well Doc , You are older than I thought ! , as today is the anniversary of the gunfight at the OK corral !
It seems like only yesterday, but it was in 1881 ! But if you can still ride I think you get the oldest competitors award for sure !!!
Glenn
-
Thankyou ! have a Molsons on me ! (canadian ale. ? )
Glenn
-
But He and Matt should still come to a ITSA event in tenn. sometime so I can see firsthand what
someone that truly knows the 240 can do with one ! I'm still on a good learning curve with my 240 !!!
And besides our fantic jersey's match !!!
and at times I wish I was in the great white north ! (well Oregon at least !)
Glenn
-
Boy oh Boy !!! I wish I still had my first Tl 125 !!! with what I know now it would be a real fun
bike to have !!! But I really miss the modified ossa pioneer skid plate that was on it ... And honda parts
are a little easier to find than Fantic Bits !! Is Poweroll (the stroker kit co.) still in operation ?
I miss that bike , I think I was 13 in picture .... And the tl even had the optional factory number plate with
bracket that went diag. from top to bottom triple clamp !!! I may just have to find a tl to restore!...?
-
You folks have been running 10/40 !?
-
Brian ; and they are real nice , eventhough I was in no shape to receive one !
-
EIGER the truth is great , been there all through the inlaws at MY HOME waiting on me ....
Glenn
-
I'd have GUESS that it may be the same as your trusty 240 ?
-
UHM , yeah something like that ...
Glenn
-
OK Lee , got me offgaurd with this one !!! But I wish besides the ITSA events in Tenn. I wish I could tell her where to go !I've driven through the area she will be in but never ridden there !!! Although as posted earlier there will be some unbelievable country to ride , in that neck of the woods !!!
And if anyone cares I did terrible at the twinshock event last weekend... OUT OF SHAPE and PRACTICE and not enough banana's for energy I turned to jello on day one !!! I rode a class lower on day 2 and had a much better time riding the scot format !!! But except for my having the bike geared to low and my flat worn out shocks the old 240 pro ran perfect with the jetting changes and WES silencer on her , a little too zippy as geared ! I 'll put the 11 tooth counter shaft back on to practice with before my next event....
AND BRIAN Where WERE YOU !!!! It was a fantastic RIDE all around !! Bob , PeeWee, and Hockey Boy are some of the best folks I've met in YEARS !!!
And Lee if your freind wants to come see South Carolina From a mechanics viewpoint , she can come play with my fantic in exchange for some child watching so I can go out on a date ...!!!
And last but not least , STEVE you must come east and check out a ITSA event !!!! It's the real world again!
www.twinshock.org We rock and have more fun than should be legal !!!!
Glenn
And although I have a degree in mech. eng. , I still twist a wrench everyday for something to do ...!!!!
Too many prior commitments and lack of time to search for a real job ... and don't tell her I said compared too the Japanese and German engineers , most Detroit's should be hung , they have NO understanding of
servicing and general maintenance in the real world !!! Although Fords Diag. systems are pretty hard to beat for real world available info for those of us with the laptop to plug into their onboard systems ! Boy , the turn key car is getting complicated these days ! BRING ON THE HYDROGEN !!!!
-
That might have been me .! Ifound that K&N #E3211 filter fits the 240 pro airbox guite well .I did put a strip of 1/4 inch closed cell self adhesive weatherstrip on both edges of the filter to ensure a good seal against my slightly heat distorted housing ! But it does work great ...
Glenn
And Ish , why the rebirth !
-
I put my 240 back together lastnite after Replenishing the oil in the stock shocks , a carb go-over with a #95 main jet install , and a major exhaust clean/ soak/burn/clean some more process and a shiny new WES silencer, and some new wider and slightly longer foot pegs(OE from a cota 249 ?).
Wow , the old girl with my old man 10/44 gearing will actually launch about 1Foot into the air with just some compression/unweighting/ throttle ! I only got to play for a few minutes in the dark last nite , But LEE HARRIS
if you see this THANKS For the fantic Tips !! what a difference!
Now to load up and go to Tennessee for a ITSA/Vintage/ahrama event this weekend !!!!
I feel like it's prom nite again !
Wish I had time to practice on her ! but oh well !
Glenn
And a trick cool new number plate !
Oh , and thanks to the crew at B&J RACING , for the parts and mental support !!!! Real trials Folks...
-
When I was a kid we always wore a helmet when practicing , ... But to be cool you had to have the BELL
STROKER hat for events ! But then we didn't have minders and catchers ! And I don't remember anyone
ever getting seriously hurt , Don't get me wrong though ! I firmly beleive in helmets ! A bell motostar saved my life ! although I still spent 4 days in a coma after being run off the road by a 58 or 59 eldorado !!!!
You know the old lane change on top of you and you hit the median divider at 55 mph swerving out of the morons way !!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>....................... And yes it left a mark !
Glenn
P.S. and yes we all wanted to look like mick and sammy ...!
-
Ok While I am up tonight reading and ranting , here goes one more !!!
I seem to have it lodged in my memory , That riding trials in the NETA in the early 70's , That if you won the novice class X # of times you were moved up to the next class !!! AND you had no choice in the matter !!! And it was a big event and everyone new you were in the next class now and if you won X # of times there it happened again !!! over and over until you were riding against DON SWEET and the rest of the best AND YOU BELONGED THERE !!!!
It may just be a distant memory from my past , But I thought the whole point was to get Better at this thing we all love and compete at a higher level of diffuculty than the month before ! and if it took you two seasons to move up , so be it !!! You rode at your skill level !!!
Glenn
-
BEEN there too , and after pulling the plug and a whole bunch of kicks to clean the crankcase out Then she'd start again !!! But my vents spewed gas after a long trailer ride and a smart wack seated the float needle again to ride that day at least !.!.!
-
You folks have it cheap ! A Friend of mines son just got his license and a worn out Toyota diesel mini truck , w/ a ins. bill of 1200.00 USD every 6 months , good student discount and no accidents included !!!!
-
The dellorto on my 83 240 has 2 vents (overflows) on it ! One on each side of the bowl ...
Glenn
-
If I've got my time line right , Cycle World magazine did a really nice article on the event , or it may have been an earlier one . I remember the article because there was a full page photo of my brother in a stream on a TL125 in a ratty looking reddish button down shirt riding the support class! It was a real nice picture and why they published the one of him I'll never understand ! But it was a great event ! even if he missed the same section every loop , He still loved it !!!
Glenn
Added on edit after a call to my brother in ore. The article I refer to came out in March of 1974 ...
