I've got a OKO set up by HWCNBM to the same basic specs as my Dellorto was (which is still in great shape and sitting in a workbench ) and I know the OKO is a copy , but I will never go back to the Dellorto , might have to adjust the idle mixture for serious altitude changes , But I've never had a issue with the copy . If Keihin had a model with the adjustment screws on the correct side , I'd be fitting one of them to my section too !

Boy have marketing tactics changed ....
Or have the times and what we infer from words ???
-
Thanks Nigel , I just got educated on what marmite is ... Love it or hate it ...
(I didn't understand your reference before I looked it up )

Well , you could call a direct injected Diesel a two stroke if you wanted to ... not that you'd be correct . But the torque will forgive errors .
-
Let's be real here ... Adam could probably fund himself if needed , The product support is the issue ....
Back to ya'all

A few ounces ??? are you ever gonna notice it ? except for the Bling factor ?????
-
I've always thought the SWM's I've ridden/repaired felt a little tankish , but I'd love to see a new trials bike from them !
And I am a 240 pro kinda guy
-
I've never needed reserve on one of my old bikes during a event ....
-
Refer to my post above ... We 're not about the excitement , we are about the SKILL !!!!
And maybe that's why it doesn't sell big time ... WE ALL KNOW going fast is easier than going slow , the rest of the world just has a problem grasping the concept !
-
And it was a different line than all the previous riders had done , one tough/trick spot I knew they both could do , and it made the approach to the rest easier ... I thought it was the way Charlie layed out the section ... you just had to see it !
-
Trials as we know it is a thinking persons pastime ... There is little to no instant self gratification , and there isn't the everyone is a winner modern attitude . Trials competition actually is a very personal thing in my opinion , until you've been at it for quite awhile , you are your own worst competition.
We all start as novices and move up when we improve ... BIG psychological block right there for alot of folks ... We don't hang out in the pits after the event and brag about how I kicked your a$$ in turn 4 . WE WALK Sections with our closest competitors and discuss how we are going to do it !!! and then many times talk about what we did wrong or right . We help each other out when we can , and pick each other up when needed ....
Case in point , The best in the world at our sport , at my section in the last world round here in the states , walking the section together on the first loop , and then asking the observer (ME) what I thought was the best line ...
And then looking at what I suggested and being the first ones to clean my section ...
Is that gonna happen in any other motorized sport ?????
Just my rant for today .

I think you need to work on foot position , you should be able to operate your brake unconsciously , just apply it , without having to move your feet around . And as stated above , your clutch is your friend .
I'm just the opposite , occasionally I'll stall on a real steep short downhill turn ,You know the front end fully loaded and about to lock up kinda thing , due to too much rear brake and not enough clutch at the right moment !
But life and the sections go on , and I usually only do it once in a event , then my brain starts to function ......

Well it's my 240's last romp before the 300 install starts ... Might bring a naked 97 section too , just to abuse a little on new tires ....

Title says it all . July 11th & 12th
If you've never been to a ITSA event , you need to !!! Mr. Ginder lays out the sweetest , class appropriate sections EVER !
It's been way to long since I've been to one ,Still keep my itsa member # 20 up to date , And I've been having hardcore withdrawal symptoms , but cabin #2 already has my name on it . and there is more room than I need ...
Great riding , Great friends , the perfect TRIALS weekend !
Modern folks more than welcome too .
Glenn
Excuse the run on sentence .... I'm a mechanic , not a english major .

Nigel ;
That was beautiful , gave me a after work laugh .
Damn heavy thick bikes ....
-
UMMM , Drunk Italian marketing guys out to confuse the world and parts people ????
-
Not to change the subject But , Honda seems to be playing hardball with their "race replica " bikes these days ... Have you guys seen the new superbike they are releasing ??? gonna be about 184k here in the states with only about 115 hp , but you folks across the pond may see alot more . !!!! The word rocket-ship comes to mind .... Full tilt street legal GP bike . I don't think my heart could take it ...

I'd love to , but I'm doing the rounds @ TTC on the 11th & 12th for the 240's last ride before the engine swap ...
My bank account and work only let me get away with so much ...
I already gave my WR. campsite ticket to a buddy , as I can't make it up there too , as I have to attend my big brothers Funeral service in CT. in August too ...
But Life goes on and I still get to ride a little
Glenn
And I'm thinking hard about selling this house and moving somewhere that I can ride alot more , Every event I attend lately is a 4 hr or alot more drive away one way ... Makes for some borderline stressful weekends and sluggish Mondays at work ...
-
-
I don't care either way ... I still want one ! Dammit !!!!
-
I've had a few pairs , Cost not a issue , Gaerne's (most comfortable shoes I own ! ) Budget minded but still Quality , Novagars ...
But as above , try some on if you can , I've never seen identical feet anywhere !
Glenn

Got a new set of X-Lites in the post today for the Section ....
Might have to mount them and see what she's like with traction ... The dunlops on her are hard as nails ...
I just love new sticky tires .... The guys at work think I'm nuts .
-
And you folks should see Tony's bike in person , and watch him toss that art at rocks and such ...!
-
Seal swell is a !itch , make sure you get it right !!!
