  1. So True ; I've got four sets of 35mm Marzocchi forks , All supposed to be from 83 240 pro models , No two are exactly the same ? From sliders to clamps to brake cable anchors to dampning rods... But they are all the same overall and interchangeable ....
  2. Too Cool ... Dark age memories Love it ! I've never even heard of one !!!

  5. Nowhere near enough ... ! yesterday wore my butt out ....!!!!
  6. That may be a reference to the STRA's scoring system , Compete in the morning , observe in the afternoon or the other way round ...
  7. If it moves under it's own power , buy it ! 200 pros are the bomb ! You can fix most all issue's easily !
  8. HMMNN ... a 240 there without lower frame rails and a radial head ... I may have to get his contact info from you when I start the teardown on my 240/300 swap to send him some photo's of the few different things on my 240 , to find out if it was one of his ... 'cause it sure ain't quite normal .... And it's origins are kinda blurred ... Thanks Again James for the work you put into these FANTASTIC interveiws . Glenn , Gotta go load up and give the bike a once over , I get to go compete tomorow !!
  9. A out of round rim will do that , Or a bent rim flange ...
  10. I still like my Belstaff I've had since 1972 .... But that is a proper ad
  11. I go thru the same all the time ; Even on late model stuff , OE gaskets and other maintenance bits and pieces are crap ! I'm coming to believe quality control is a lost/forgotten art ? Glenn
  12. I thought she was "Dirty Gerty " ? Glenn
  13. I hope it is Bernies bike . another lost relic come home ... And as I start to tear apart my unique 83 240 pro , I hope I can find out what it was / is ... I've got a few interesting leads ... But I think Bernie would have to ride / spend some time with it to know for sure . Are there any #'s anywhere that can help ? A sit down with the old neighbor might help ....Too ? Glenn
  14. Ya just gotta love T.N. on a little 4 stroke ...

    300 - No Spark

As Furse Said , Check The resistance and check the trigger too , The Dansi ign. is much stouter than the Motoplat used in the early 240's , Like he said , late model CDI coil and go from there , The primary coils usually are good or bad/open not much in between , if it loses spark when hot then go for the rewind ... fantic_240_electrisch_schema_1982.pdf These should get you started , all the fantics are about the same ... Have fun , I know you love the bike or you wouldn't of bought her back ! Glenn , The one you have to download is a colored schematic ...

    Fantic Clearout

What the heck is a score ????
  17. OK ; update due ... For the last month I haven't done anything to my fantics ! My kids street bike got stolen last month , and to be a nice dad , I threw a motor together for the Miata I had laying about for the donor car for my Exocet retirement toy ...And put insurance on it and gave the ungrateful 19 yr old the keys , Burns oil like a pig , should've had a bore and pistons , but oh well other than massive oil consumption it runs great ... I've rounded up all the gaskets and seals to do up the 300 motor , along with a 300 expansion chamber , my neighbor (the fabricator guy) is already working a airbox to take a bit larger K&N than the one I have in the 240's box ... But the whole project get's put on hold , ' cause there is a ITSA event at TTC next month and I need to give the 240 her last romp !!! and I need a weekend with my buddy's ... Glenn
  18. I heard Helium in the tires and suspension ... Makes floaters easier ! Glenn

    Fantic 200 Pro

Is not the 200 pro the same frame ? And I'd rather be a little too wide than to narrow ... And I think I paid 30.00 usd for it , and I have yet to see a aftermarket one that is as thick and any where near the same quality of material .... Just Saying The fit was worth the effort . Glenn
  20. THERE ARE 2 N's IN Glenn ... As they say never debate with a ....

    Fantic 200 Pro

Here you go , excuse the dirt ... And you can't see it , in these but I added a hole so I can change oil without removing the skidplate. , And those are some trick Flush surface mount bolts , with the allan head hole way up inside . So you can always get them off without fighting damaged bolt heads ... Glenn
  22. My Great Grampa worked as a young man for Indian , His first Indian had pedals! ...The photo is on my toolbox or I'd scan it for you ... Escorts ... Based on a production shell ... WELL HELL YES !!! we'll just add a bit of tubing here and there to increase the structural stability ... And maybe we can use the block with a few tweaks ... the stock tranny ? lets see when it will break ... Shelve the stock suspension , I know a guy ... I've been building race cars of all types , from Spec miata's to winternational final's cars ... MONEY and R&D is the tool !!!! A 1.6l miata I built held the lap record @ Roebling road race track for about 3 years , I built a 440 sixpack challenger F stock car that got a invite to the winternationals in it's first season (only to redlight by 11thou of a second in the final !!!!) On that one I spent about 40 hrs @ palmdale dragstrip playing with the suspension to get the 60 foot times where they had to be . (renting a dragstrip for a weekend is fun ) And I still stand by my comment that the TL125 is most likely the most produced/sold trials bike world wide (international market !) No doubt most of them never saw a trials event , but they are everywhere .... You meet the nicest people on a Honda .... So Stuff that in your crack pipe and light up ... And what do you do for a living , besides p*** people off ? Cheers , Glenn And we just finished a resto on a works Mini Cooper winning Rally car , you know, velocity stacks for the carb thru the firewall , and a rollcage/frame that makes getting into the drivers seat a 3 minute ordeal ...But get the clutch set up right and from about 0 to 80 , it's will take out just about anything , (unless a front wheel lifts ! )
  23. But aren't most of the extreme enduro riders trials folks ??? in one form or another ?
