He's got a Fantic bicycle like me too ! Makes me almost want to add the red and blue fantic stripes to my white Nissan NV1500 van ...
Interesting build , alot of work .

No Batteries in these ones ... We'll see how long they last ! No big loss either way
-
And That they should !!!!

You may have to massage the lower frame rails for clearance , but if my memory works the basic mounting points are the same , may have to play with the back/swingarm pivot clamp mount . But I think it is a basically bolt in swap , and then set up a exhaust that performs correctly ... and a airbox inlet ... But I do know the reed valve motors fit , just takes some love ....

Well I got a couple of the 'bay for 6 dollars apiece ...
Hooked up and functioning but not finished mounting yet ...
And the section already had a spot where the long ago broken wire out of the OE. hour meter/ clock resided , although if and when my custom aluminum tank unit ever gets finished , I'll move it ...
And I even found RED ones !!!
Now for laundry , and the race ...

Geezzz , do I have to make some well edited twinshock hop videos ? Ray Peters is the BOMB !!!! And I can hop enough to get myself into trouble at times .... ( ya just gotta laugh )
-
I love my gaerne's and my fat ankled kid loves his hand me down novagars ...
-
Slow mo is cool to a point , the back ups and effects are un needed for these , your a master editor , but let the riding and sound be as it is .
Good womp on a 125 ...

Find a event , go to it and talk to folks , Somebody always has a bike for sale ... Just check all the basics before you settle on price ... Inspect rear suspension play/movement close , high wear/ neglected / easy fix ...
Have fun and let us know .........
Glenn
And if you've never ridden a trials bike before , even though you ride and race , BE CAREFUL , completely different beast .....
-
Of course it is possible , but why ? the better option would be to find a 240 chassis that needs a motor and bolt the later engine into it ...
Converting that mono to a twin would take a bit of well thought out welding and fab work , for not much benefit ... Make the bike work as it is and enjoy it , or get ready to spend alot of time and money on a bike that will never be finished .... No harm intended , their are just so many better things to do with any old Fantic . Why make it into something it's not , especially as they are getting slightly rare ????

3 hrs north of LA ? Contact http://www.lewisportusa.com/They 've got shops north and south of you ... And if you really want to learn bike control , a 125 is your game . Trust us , going fast is really easy , I've done the Mint 400 and the Barstow to Vegas ... Even a old tl125 honda will teach you things ! A modern 125 will blow your mind what it can do with proper technique . And just remember , Jim Pomeroy , and Malcom Smith and a host of other go fast legends all rode trials for practice too .... IT IS the best training you can do on two wheels , Don't worry about the video's you see of the world class guys (aka Bou ) , go to a event and meet some folks and start having some fun ... YOU ARE YOUR Hardest Competition in Trials ...
And as Mags would say , "balance your life , ride a trials bike " . (I need to get some stickers made that say that , and send him a few )
Glenn
And PS ... I lived in Vegas for a few years , and trust me aces CAN win ...
And a double PS. , Cleaning that 3 foot log followed by the 180 degree turn into a 4 foot step (all within about 18 feet ) beats stuffing your buddy into a berm at 40mph any day ... (or getting stuffed !).
But be forewarned ... Trials is ADDICTIVE ! Challenge yourself ....
-
What ever works for you in any given situation ... AKA when the skills are there , you won't even think about it , it will just be a reaction ...
No harm intended , I ride a old Fantic , and she'll do anything I ask her to do , and makes me look better than I am ..... Practice all our basic skills religiously , they will save your a$$ more than hopping about ... Finesse and know your next move ...
Rant over !

I had some built by these folks http://www.worksperformance.com/html/home.html , And I couldn't be happier with the way they work (well maybe I could ride better !)

Scroll down thru these pages and all will be explained http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/40955-show-me-your-twin-shocker/page-3

From stories I've heard , that's how Ryan Young started ... And his dad still rides

Find a early Quatro and put escort emblems on it , Or a Renault alpine . Best and easiest would be to get that lancia stratos and gas it ...

The only map switch I've used that makes a marked difference is on a friends 05' 4rt with a 300 kit and a trick ecu ... in the soft position it's like a tl250 with a bunch of extra torque , in the power position it's kinda like a well tuned XR500 ... aka hang on !

"PS Zero gear box failures on my many GG. The bell curve starts looking more like a symbol with every one. "
And that from a guy that is paid to test/destroy components/parts for a major manufacturer ... (if my memory works...)
Glenn
Can we get back to the Vertigo now ???
-
Or find a top yoke from a 200 , like I did....
-
Yup , Fox Shox's . Back in the day on twinshock elsinore's and rm's and a Maico or two , they were the bomb . If I remember correctly they were rebuildable . I don't know how good their trials shock worked , as back then I chased smoke bombs in the desert ....
Maybe contact http://www.worksperformance.com/html/home.html and ask If they are worth the effort , they'd know !?

12 step programs don't work for trials riders .... We're always looking for the bigger step to go up , the first ones are easy !
-
Thankfully we didn't get any snow this year , just alot of cold weather . Last winter Charleston shut down for 4 days due to snow ....
And except for being dirty , nothing wrong with the fins .... It'll look new when I ship the top end off to Langcourts in atlanta to have it replated to fit the custom forged twin ring piston I've got laying in wait ... But she doesn't need it yet . And the angle of the shot makes it look worse than it is , flash and all .

Just went out and torqued the motor mount bolts on the 240 , put some redline gear oil in her , cleaned up my mess and fired her up and played in the yard for a few moments .... Let her stand for a little bit and checked the oil in the sight glass I like this change !
Now to watch the boys go around in circles for a while and have a . Except for laundry my work is done for today !
Glenn
And I need to play in my yard more , but it just started pouring down , and the race is coming on ....
