  1. my new Airoh helmet is as close to a bell stroker cap like we wore back in the dark ages ... (weight wise ! ) when @ 12 years old I rode a trick tl125.... so it counts !!!
  2. not to change the subject , but as we are talking france in the last few posts , WHAT HAS HAPPENED to Ateilier BMZ or http://www.bmz.fr ? They have section parts and the website has been inop. like forever !!!! I want/need a few bits and they had them in stock ! Thanks for any info ... Continue on with the thread Glenn
  3. OH SO TRUE ... I might 3 or 5 the nasty rock etc. but I can turn around in the wheelbase of my bike at will ... (sometimes ! )
  4. As Above , timing got to be off ... Never seen a 240 or 300 do it , but the minarelli powered bikes may .... And points are not required ....
  5. Agreed , thanks for the film . But I don't know about the twinshock thing ... On a few occasions Ryan Young has played on my trusty old 240 , And he can do the same stunts he does on a modern bike , after he's been on the old girl for about 2 minutes !!! Although I don't think my bike could do what they are doing above Thanks again Glenn
  6. I figured out Bou's secret !!!!!! He's the only one with raised white letter michelins ! It's all in the tires ! Or The grin he always seems to have on ! Glenn (oopps! fuji has the same tires .... ?)

    Fantic Info

About half way down this page are different Fantic manuals you can view . http://www.fantictrials.co.uk/ and you have to contact them on the phone for parts , but there is more info here too http://www.nickandkaren.co.uk/frankfieldfantic.co.uk/index.html
  8. OK ... Well about 6 years ago my 20/20 perfect vision went in the dumpster almost overnight !!): I now wear lineless trifocals all the time . I hate it and I won't ride my bikes with glasses on , Depth perception is wrong , I'd rather be a tick out of focus than too soon or to late at a object . And I have this weird fear about crashing (which I'm good at ! ) with glasses on . Plastic lens and such as they all are these days , but I always think about sharp pointy things in my eyes .... (aka broken frame ) I'm saving my spare change for some Lasik surgery , I hate lenses !!!! I mean I already take my teeth out when competing , I'd really like to save my eyes . Glenn
  9. I don't think they taught the sit down and paddle through method when he went to school ...
  10. Hate to say it but Bou is the best we've ever seen .... Period , I'm pretty sure he could ride and win anything he wanted to ... But he gets paid to practice ! Do you ? He is a phenom and we should be glad that we get to watch him ride , he has changed our sport forever ! Glenn

    Fantic 301

And if your in the UK , Contact Bill Pye at Frankfeild Fantic . He's got anything you need . and the knowledge to go with it . and your description of the bike in #11 , just could be it ... Don't scrap it !!!
  12. Contact the Folks at B&J racing in Dickson , just a few miles from you . They can get you anything you need for the green machine . And they are the heart and soul of the ITSA ! (international twin shock association ) There are twinshock aimed events all around you . Have fun , Happy New Year ! Glenn

    Fantic 301

If the 249cc engine runs , thats worth the price of admission ... Find yourself a decent 240 or 300 ,well any 'pro' model (forwardkick twinshock) and you've got alot of interchangeable parts. I wouldn't let the term 'scrap' come into context ... And I think Fantic sold some late 300's with a dealer installed mono shock rear. But I'm pretty sure you can make just about any 35mm fork work .
  14. My old novogars and my new Gaernes both fit about the same and are the same size . My 15 yr old that now uses the novagars is like you , thick legs..... I just adjusted the straps to work on him and so far he has been fine with them. But then again he probably would say he isn't .... (mean dad and all ) Glenn
  15. My vote goes for the chest mount for sure , the helmet mounted cameras make me dizzy ... The chest gives you the impression your on the bike . I may have to buy a go pro ... and embarrass myself . Glenn
  16. So glad you had fun ! And remember in mud either fast or slow ,it's all about were your weight is ... (sorta ). In muddy climbs I tend to use inertia if possible , or you learn how to keep your forks lightly extended and the back planted . takes time to get down and every bike is different . My trusty old 240 pro gets phenomenal traction , (to the discern of a few modern guys ). my section I haven't gotten used to at all yet , but it feels good too . Just wait till you do a dry event and traction is easy , you'll love it even more . just remember always stay hydrated and relaxed , Breath deeeep and slow before you enter the section and don't stop breathing when your in it either ! holding your breath is a MISTAKE ! Cheers ! Glenn

    Tempted

How much freetime and refinement money can you afford ... If you had another chassis for his "great engine" maybe ... Just my 2 pence , from another foolish trials rider ... I'm still looking for the Cub I need ...! Glenn
  18. you need to hook up with the ITSA guys from B&J Racing in Dickson Tennessee and get some events/ rides going on out there ... Looks like you have a beautiful playground ... Glenn
  19. Double all the above... YOU GO GIRL !!!!! Relax , walk the sections EVERY TIME !(especially if wet ) , take your time , and have fun !!!! ask questions, all will help . Best of luck to you and don't ride anything your afraid of ... YET ! Hook up with Ladyraceruk and practice/compete together if convenient ! Have fun !!!!!!! Glenn
  20. If you can and their not old and stale ... Set them aside and I'll be in touch asap ... But if you can off them in the meantime , don't worry 'bout me ... Thanks , Glenn
  21. You obviously missed the point ! Happy New Year ! Glenn
