If you really want bada$$ front brakes go all the way and do the last yamaha front drum set up off their last moto cross bikes ...
The end of drum brake tech , or as above the last grimeca off a fantic or SWM are next best with a few tweaks ...

In the credits at the end they thank Vertigo ???

Yes but which is more resilient... fatigue cycles ... etc.............
If I remember my basics , chrome moly tube works out better ......
'cause it can flex a bit and survive

Furse ;
Let me know how they work , as I've got wes's with pvc spacers in my 240 , and I keep looking at the magicals so my front end may work as good as the fantastic works performance custom shocks on the rear ...
thanks,
Glenn

They are a fun to ride ! Get it , you'll grow to love it ....

Get your trials bike , forget everything you know from MX , go enter a event on the novice line , and have a good time ...
Trials done properly is a art form , your only competing against yourself at most amateur levels , and unless you are one of the few with natural ability like Bou , it takes alot of practice ... Going fast is easy ! Trials is not ... But it is quite personally rewarding , and when you get good , then you can amaze your friends , and kick their a$$ on the mx track too ! .......
Enjoy ,

I have to agree , I've rode them all , but the Fantic built motors starting with the 240 was a trials designed motor ... My 97 section is the last evolution of the initial concept we got to see and use .and it (IMHO) is better power wise than alot of new bikes I've tried . But I still like a proper 4RT too ..

Very Interesting ...
thanks again !

My 240 is 10/44 .I find I only use 1st for real tight stuff ...

I watched it from your link yesterday morning ... Worked for me in the deep south ... S.C.

I wonder if we'll see any trials coverage in Dirt Rider now ... Chris could revitalize the sport here with his exposure possibilities ...

The patina look is cool , but I would've painted it first !
Glenn
But in all seriousness , good luck with the project. It's all in the details ....

Yep , just checked my address book , it's still there . I'll get it sent asap ....
Glenn
And if it's a forward kick 200 pro , you guys might like it better than the 240's !!!
-
Dave , thanks , that was a couple of years worth of bagging and tagging and reassembly . From the ground up......

WAHH HOOO !!!

OK ...
I'm a master mechanic , with a masters in mechanical engineering to back up my limited thought processes ... I turned 54 today and have spent the last 16 years as a single dad raising my 3 kids , the youngest was hours old when I started . Hence my career kinda got put on hold , my kids come first .
Now I just try to have fun at work getting paid to do what I enjoy , and some folks truly appreciate ...
Started riding trials back in the late '70's as a kid , took about 30yrs off from the sport and got back into it around 2005 .
Now I've got this Fantic addiction , and it's worse than beer and cigarettes !

Doug , I've got a pristine 300 seat on a shelf ... Should I put it in a box and send it to you ? your welcome to it as, I'm never gonna use it at this point !
Glenn

OK . rebuilt/cleaned carb. Every rubber piece cracked on disassemble , choke tube o-ring was distorted .
But carb back on and bike only works slightly better ...
Took off reed block and fresh Boysen carbon tech reeds are on their way ....
Not seating as they should , may explain the bulk of the issues ...
Glenn

IT's actually a cosmetics thing , but as I had a 300 seat and a skinny tank beforehand , I can vouch that the current setup is slimmer and smother
while riding ...
Glenn
-
The Chap you speak of made me this one , And I've got one of his "standard " tanks that sits on a shelf now , due to the signatures on it ...No issue at all with either unit , Great Stuff !
