Not knowing but asking , didn't some Italajets spawn from swm's ?
May be worth a look ...
Good luck

Billy ; We need to do a little research on how honda's (I believe, speed density system ) responds to inputs ...
It should ? be as simple as adding a resister or two to the system to fool the ecu ... But you would have a fat ole pig in normal conditions ...
And is there anyway to adjust the fuel pressure at the regulator ? More pressure at the same pulse width at the injector will feed a tad more fuel .
And my buddy's bike is also 300cc I think ...
Maybe Biff will chime in , being Blue oval guy he should be familiar with this setup , and how to hot rod it ....
Glenn ,
And where are you riding that overcomes the factory MAP ??? Honda wants to know ?
I used to live in So. Cal. so I am curious what area is defeating your bike ....

Fantastic service , and great pieces . Got them today
Thanks

The 315 is a solid HONDA ! Contact http://www.lewisportusa.com/ for any parts , they can get just about anything you would need ...
Get the bike cheap and love it !
Glenn
Or you can tell us where the bike is ......

Billy ; I've been tweeking fuel injection almost since it's inception ... But I'm not familiar with how the 4rt measures air . Does it have a Map sensor and intake air temp. sensor or is there a air flow meter of some type ?
But I can tell you one of my riding com-padres has a 05 that has been played with by the HRC guys and has different mapping than stock and the bike is unbelievable !!! with the flip of a switch it will go from a sleepy cub into a fighting Tiger .... And if you can learn where to use each , the bike is phenomenal . other than that it's just a perfectly set up ride
I'll see him this weekend at a event and I'll ask him to contact you and share any info he knows ... You may already know this Scottish Gentleman . And I hope when I'm his age I can ride 1/2 as good as he can ....
Glenn
And my gas caps should be here tomorrow ! Thanks ...

And I forgot the S 10 heater core ....
Goverment Motors had the issue too ...
Thanks for the refresher Biff !

Bring a spare sparkplug and wrench , along with whatever tools you feel comfortable using in the woods ...know the limits of what you can fix in the field. You most likely will get assigned to a more experienced competitor for the day to show you the ropes . ASK QUESTIONS !!! every one who can , will help . Stay Hydrated !!! You'll be surprised at what you can do . And as above , a planned dab is better than a five . And Relax and have fun ! The nerves will relax faster than you think :)And don't forget to BREATHE !!! And remember there is not a 12 step program to cure this addiction !!!
Good Luck and have fun .

Rob , it's a 1997 Fantic section
Mags , Straight hose won't work , No room , But 3 straight pieces and 2 90degree elbows will . With the elbow at the head going from 3/4 to 1/2 .
Feetup , HDPE fittings may be a better option than the copper for this application as the copper fittings I've run across all have soldered joints and I think the HDPE fittings may take the vibration better , and the cooling fan comes on when the head temp reaches about 175-180 F. and with a 14psi rad cap Pressure shouldn't be a issue , as most pieces I've seen are rated for 175-200 psi @ temp .
Thanks for the input , and boosting my confidence in following thru with my plan ....

I like the angled back fender ...... (any port in a storm) ingenuity (or desperation) !

lean the bike away from your first foot on the pegs , then slowly counter balance your way upright ... And holding your front brake with the forks turned helps alot too . The bike weighs alot less than you do , so every ounce of pressure you put on the pegs will have dramatic results . And it sounds weird , but learn to steer the bike with peg pressure ... It's a trial and error thing , but you'll know when you've got it . And when you think your good at static balance , double the air pressure in your tires and try again Welcome to the fold .....

It's a strange shaped hose with different ID's at the ends , and I've been to every bike shop and auto parts store around here seeing if something else would fit ...
Here's a few photo's of it if any one has a idea ! I've found one for the tiny 180 degree hose
I think copper elbows maybe my best bet , as the head end is about 3/4 ID and the surge tank/ top end is about 1/2 inch .
I've found pvc and copper fittings that will do the transfer in a 90 degree fitting .
Thanks again for the advice , I just want to use the Damn old bike ! It's got some serious oommpphh ...

Find a local event , meet some of the greatest people in any motorsport , (remember , we're competing against ourselves , it's not a race ! ) and ride the novice line , I bet from the bike control your showing , you'll move up a class before the event is over ...
Relax , have fun and breath deep before each section ...
And yes , head smacks @ 1 mph and 5 feet can still do damage ....
Glenn
And where are you located ??? , We hide out , so you might have a ridding buddy close to you , Practicing/riding with peers always helps and boosts your confidence ....

Get a Helmet on and go enter a event !!!

As some of you know , I've been searching for a cyl. head to surge tank coolant hose for my 97 section for what seems forever ... Now after measuring the fittings I see I can make the hose out of small straight pieces of hose and some elbows ... My only worry is will I run into a corrosion issue between the Magnesium case's and copper fittings ? Or should I use some temperature / pressure suitable high quality pvc fittings ? I'm wondering about dissimilar metals reacting to each other .
Does anybody have any insight ?

I just installed the 300 brake plate . I just putted around the yard for a minute to make sure it works and it does , quite well ... I need to add a small bend to the actuator arm around the fork tube to get the cable end inline with the arm . It's pulling the cable at a small angle ... Details , Details ....
But in the little bit I rode , it feels much more progressive and stronger than the stock plate . I've got a event next weekend , so trial by fire !

Just Talked to Vince and have 2 caps on the way Hope they get here before our event next sunday !!!
Thanks for the info !

And make sure you don't confuse your power band and your power valve ! Serious failure could result !
I'm looking for a supplier of Fantic power-bands , some N.O.S. ones would be sweet !
I've got plenty of gaskets to do the job .

Thanks ;
I didn't know V-mar made one too , H&D is out of stock and no firm answer when they'll have them again ....
I'm just know some other Honda has to use the small cap , may just have to go to the Honda dealer with part #'s and see if they can enlighten me !
Thanks again ,

Hi all ,
As both of the aftermarket tanks I installed on my Fantic & Reflex both use the same plastic gas cap as a 4rt, And my son , always in a hurry , has cross theaded his a few times ... Now making it very difficult to put back on .
I was wondering if anyone knew what other bike uses the same gas cap ? I would love to find some metal ones in the aftermarket , to help end the problem ...
Thanks ,

Now that I have it in hand , I can see the ingenious way it works . Even though the shoes are not new , they are in good shape and worn perfectly even the whole length of the lining . As you can see in the 2 photo's of the outside , the actuating pivot is on a separate floating mount on the backing plate attached by the small bolt . The secondary plate has about 8mm of forward and aft movement so the shoes center up completely when the brake is applied . I'm gona clean it up and lube it and try it out tomorrow . Will let you know if it's better than the 240 plate with a bored out spindle hole and modified as much as I can ...
Hope it works good !

Case in point ... My 83 240 pro is still on it's original piston , I changed the single Dykes type ring once ...
I've got a custom made forged twin ring piston that's been sitting in my shop for about 5 years now , just waiting for the replate @ langcourts ...
But if it ain't broke , don't fix it ....
