  1. Just bought a 300 floating front backing plate for my trusty 240 ... I just hope they work as good as I've been told . But the price was right so I gotta try it ! ... Right ? Glenn
  2. Crankcase breather/oil separator ... Surprised it's still there !?! Take it off and plumb to the airbox for safety and deep water crossings or just stuff the tube under the swingarm shaft like someone did to my kids reflex ... I never even noticed it before ! And the shop manual shows it , but never really explains it !. emission controls ... Glenn
  3. Jimmy ; As a kid in New England (early 70's) I got to ride everyday for hours and learned how to control my tl125 with my 80 to 110 lbs balancing it . So slow turns and smoothness was what I had to practice ! 'cause if I lost my stability on the bike I didn't have enough weight/inertia in my body to correct ... Now after getting back into trials in 04/05 after a 30+ year break , I find the basics are still the basics . EVERY Time i fire up one of my bikes I spend 5 or 10 minutes just doing very basic full lock turns / figure 8's to get my 53 year old mind and muscles clear and relaxed and in trials mode ... And I find if I overthink a section or line I usually screw it up . , Sometimes for me it's just easier to look at it , decide where I want the bike to be , and just do it . And I do find that the NO FEAR thing we all had as youngsters , fades away with age ... I really can't afford to get broken ! But no matter what is going on @ work or in my life , I always feel better after playing on my bike .... So as I approach 54 , I still go out and play in the mud . And I hope to for quite a few more years . Age isn't a passage of time , it's a state of mind ... Glenn
  4. Different brand , But I find that the Airoh trr Helmet I got a few months ago is absolutely superb for me , lightest helmet I've ever owned and quite comfy too ... Glenn
  5. Jimmy , some days I ride like a pro , smooth and effortless , And then at the next event I'll start the day off with a well executed face plant down a rocky gorge into a stream ... . You look fine , just keep the smile on and have fun ! And relax your mind when you ride , and breath deeply ... It's stress relief for me Glenn
  6. So Find another aircoupe .....? I liked that
  7. Best I can do is copy the page for you from a factory 86/87 Honda reflex manual ... I've not had my kids forks apart yet , so I can't vote on what the springs look like ! IMG_0006.pdf Have fun ! Sorry it's upside down ... Glenn
  8. He just replaced all the lexan ? windows and repainted the cockpit section , hasn't got around to adding the stripes back yet . And the sea-bee is way cool , except for the sun damaged paint that plane has been minted out ... The hand pump that raises /rolls back the gear leaks slightly into the hull , so he won't take it up for good reason , the gear may go up , but it may not come back down ....But it has been used around here for search&rescue on our many lakes , with positive results Just a really unique craft Glenn And Copey ; Were the little Grumman Americans good craft ? There's one at the local port that needs a loving home ... I seem to remember them being little hotrods ?
  9. Glad it worked for you , Do you still use it or did you get your carb set up better ? Weren't they supposed to store vacuum to improve low rpm throttle response / help maintain some intake velocity ? Wish I could find a add from back in the day ... Glenn
  10. From my Factory Reflex manual ... capacity ; 204.5 -209.5 cc or 6.91 - 7.08 US oz. or 7.20-7.37 Imp. oz. And the small diameter (tapered) end of the spring must face toward the bottom ... Glenn
  11. Good luck with the move , and hope the best for your future here ! Have Fun , Life is a adventure Glenn
  12. Well I just have to share with the Flyers out here what my Boss did out of the blue for my turned 15 today son ... He took Tyler up in his Cessna (sp?) and let him fly it (well steer it ...) Pretty cool for a kid that has never flown before . I'll wait till after I help fix the hydraulic fluid leak in the pump to fly the totally cool Sea-bee he's got too ... Makes me wish I still had my Aircoupe ... Pretty Fun day for the kid ! Glenn
  13. I never felt any difference , A properly set up Flat slide gives much sharper response and performance . I don't even remember what all the claims were for the "roost boost bottle" , besides the psychological benefits .... Glenn

  16. Interesting ... I've stopped riding at more than one event due to muscle cramps , To the point of not being able to move fingers and.or walk ... And I eat a banana a day , and hydrate religiously . Where did you find this stuff ? I get cramps in my hands sometimes at work , and nothing is worse than being a mechanic whose fingers lock up and stop functioning !!!! Thanks for the info Billy , or is it just part of getting older that we have to learn to deal with ? And I'd much rather be in the southwest than STUCK in the southeast were you have to add 85 to 100 % humidity to your temps ! I'm a desert brat at heart .... Coachella Valley raised .... (palm desert) Glenn
