  1. Do a search for it on here , it's been covered quite well before ... Glenn

    5 Or 3 ?

From the angle of the shot in the vid, he had both feet on the ground at one point while rolling backwards , I'd of 5'd it ... But still a great ride ! to have saved it and got thru the section ... Glenn
  3. I know the feeling , My daughter is now this grad student with a life and my boys are getting bigger than me , I just hope in today's world they retain some of the values I've tried to instill in them .... Glenn
  4. What Year Section ??? 97's had different forks than 95 & 96 ....
  5. Kinda makes want to find a cub ... Or a BSA , or some other old lump and spend way to much money on it !
  6. I really like your playground ! Skills there boy
  7. I've got Trialscast pegs on my 240 and The S3 hardrock alloy ones on my section ... WIDER is BETTER ! , gives you a slightly bigger platform to work from , and my feet hurt less at the end of the day too !
  8. As offered , I believe the the 240 intake is a bit different , judge for yourself .... I hope you can judge from the spare engine shot's for the angle of the intake , and are you running the 240 exhaust ? Good luck ! Glenn (and yeah I haven't cleaned my bike since a Ryan Young school a couple of weekends ago !!!)
  9. I'll look at mine when I get home tonight , I think the 240 intake is a little different...
  10. Honda reflex's came with air over spring caps , but you need a very accurate gauge , as they only hold 1 or 2 lbs of pressure ... Air forks were a big fad in the 80's , they generally take a better seal too ...
  11. I'm pretty sure the 301 used the same basic 35mm Marzocchi front forks as the 240 and 300 , so springs and such shouldn't be a problem , although fantic used many different combinations of spring lengths and spacers thru the years ...
  12. TOO COOL !!!! what is the Swingarm from ??? BEAUTIFUL Bike ... Glenn and ps. How Tall are you ??? (bar risers and footpeg position?)
  13. Your never too old ... One of my best memories is of a ITSA event that I went to almost ten years ago when I got back into trials too ... The most inspiring thing I saw that day was a couple of gentlemen on some nice old cubs , They both were pushing 70 at the time (I think) and the style and grace they showed when riding was great , But the smiles on their faces while they did it was even better ! And I swear I get younger when I'm on my bike ! Glenn
  14. As a pro at this wrench twisting stuff like jon V8 and copey, I've probably put more than one tool man's kid thru college ... As of the last few years I've found Matco tools have edged out Snap-on for value and service ... And I never ever thow a tool away ! even if broken you may find a future use for it , I've got drawers full of bent , welded , customized wrenches for a specific need ... And I just got a set of Rolsen BS wrenches that so far appear to be great quality , To amend my worn King Dick and Stahlwell whitworth and BS wrenches . On this side of the pond , getting whitworth and British Standard tools can be a expensive challenge .... But spend what you need , if you plan on using the tool daily , buy the best you can . It will pay for itself .... Glenn
  15. And Lucas never manufactured TV's , They couldn't figure out how to make them leak oil .... DO NOT get me started on British Car Jokes , I've got a book ! Literally !!!! But I luv em and find them to be pure ... and thankful at times... Glenn
  16. I'm glad your enjoying life .... And Trials !!!! Glenn
  17. I bet you wish you still had the Healey , they've become one of the most sought after roadsters .... And the Prince of darkness is a big baby , just keep his connections clean and tite and he behaves ! I sanded and glassed up a much larger area on the tank last nite , I'll put some fuel in it tomorrow eve and see if it holds before I try and make it pretty again ...
  18. Yeah , I guess I'll try to repair it now , as the tank has never had fuel in for more than a few minutes and is dry inside ... And you should see the XK150 coupe were finishing up now , just have to finish the details and figure out how to mount a ac condenser in adequate air flow ...
  19. Dilemma !!!! As I just fitted a new petcock to the reflex to stop a fuel leak , and proceeded to test ride the bike before loading it up for a event tomorrow , as I was playing on the fallen trees in my yard , I didn't account for the muddy clay in my yard , I dropped the bike !!! Resulting in a tiny fracture that weeps fuel at the top of the bulge in the tank for the petcock ... 1 damn pointy little rock ! ? is do I attempt to repair the tank , or not waste my time and just get another ? and mind you , to fit this one the stock tank mounting knubs at the front of the tank have been removed from the frame, so going back to the stock layout is not a option ... Glenn
  20. Go for the Levers !!! They work Glenn
  21. I agree with jonboy above ... Except for one detail , The Fantic in "great nick" as you chaps say may cost a little more to maintain than the scorpa , but it will also appreciate in value ... I can't see the scorpa ever being more than a break even (maybe) bike , The fantic will be able to pay for itself if you get it at a reasonable price , But Get one of them and get out and play ! It's great for the mind and soul !! Glenn
  22. Yup , The nut below the top clamp adjusts the bearing preload , and the nut above holds the top clamp in place . remove the top clamp , adjust/repack bearings , install top clamp , tighten top nut first , then the fork tube pinch bolts ... Glenn
  23. I know a few folks that buy a new bike every year !!! (not that it helps ...)
