Or at least scaring yourself once in awhile , But it is a fun ride ...

Greeves , The last thing that little Bugatti is , is a "kit Car". It is a extremely accurate replica that was built in France , one of a numbered series .

Dear Sir; I have been doing this for over 4 decades ... And my services at the facilities I do restoration work and engine building is taking pending appointments about a year in the future ... And it was a ground up restoration on the XK150 , and then after delivery the owner came back and said he wanted more oomphh ! So he paid for a different intake manifold , cams , and a trio of webers . I'm more than willing to do what the customer wants to pay for . But I take ZERO shortcuts . And Jonv8 at the start of this thread was asking a question about some detail he wanted the particulars on , so voices were heard , and although I'm across the pond I can speak proudly of Jon's knowledge , as I contacted him a few months ago about a customers Bugatti type 37 replica , with a rover powertrain that I had never seen here in the states before ,with a strange drivabilty problem and in 2 e-mail conversations , I was able to deliver the car back to a very happy customer . NON OF US KNOWS EVERYTHING !
And the only stupid question is the one you are afraid to ask .!!! I went to the one person in my world of contacts that I thought would know what I needed , That is part of the beauty of the information age we live in , WE CAN SHARE THOUGHTS AND INFORMATION ! And if you haven't noticed , we share all kinds of thoughts here , world politics , the economy , GREAT jokes , saving endangered species and the list goes on . Yes this is a Trials website , and undoubtedly the best one there is , But we are ADULTS (for the most part ?) and can converse with our friends and expand our knowledge base .

And Yes that is Cooper / MG #1 , I get some fun stuff to play with ...

Can't vote without measuring the barrel ...!

TOO COOL !!!
keep the critters safe !

I use my front brake more than the rear ... ? And would the weight of a extra pump be viable ?
-
laird387, A color tune , had one years ago !But trust me , I still do MY bikes by feel ... ( and I can't afford to replace my wideband sensor array after two stroke tune ....!) But multi cylinder cars get the full work up . You would appreciate the XK150 I just finished , 3 webbers, starts like its fuel injected , hot or cold , and will slam you into the seat and it's air conditioned too ...
And keep your photo's and stories coming , it's not history if you don't share it !

As a "tuner" ,engine builder , Licensed emission technician with about 40 years of twisting wrench's under my belt , I wouldn't think of taking someones money for tuning their motor for peak performance without my 4 gas analyzer hooked up and sniffing ... What comes out the tailpipe tells a amazing story if you understand how to interpret what you see .

It would be nice if the powers that be would just declare open season on all / any poachers ...
It happens everywhere ...!

All that being said, wouldn't the mechanical type used on PWC's and ATV's serve the same purpose ? and spare tethers are readily available ...
Yeah I've been to Glamis and the CO. river more than once ...
-
Change the fluids and then ride it hard to find out what it needs !
Great bike too !

As the title states I'm amassing more unique parts to refurbish my ever faithful 240 pro ... When done it'll be truly worthwhile .
But I have one question to put to you all ... My fork sliders and clamps and swing arm have all been powdercoated recently in the standard red , I rattle caned the frame when I first went thru the bike in red . But this time I think I want the previously powdercoated pieces to remain red , But maybe the frame in something different ? It will have a special one piece seat/tank unit in red , so maybe a black base frame ? or should I just stand true to the Fantic colors ....
And all the pieces for the aluminum tank on my section have been made , just got to weld it up and polish it . I can't wait to use that bike ...
Glenn
-
That's so true ... Just like 7/8 of the folks that buy gxr's and the like , can really even grasp what the bike is truly capable of ...
We always want the newest and best , whether we can use it or not ....
I'd just love to see a proper entry level bike on the market ...
But then again I'm getting old a grumpy too !
