Or the seal/oring on the choke plunger seat is done ...
And on these wonderful old bikes (of any brand ! ) Always turn off the fuel when your not riding it !!! (first thing I taught my kids !!! ).

If memory works ... 249cc , reedvalve . It should basically bolt in place , but will need exhaust and airbox /carb mods to work correctly.

Mine has been modified I believe thru the years , as I don't think Fantic would have produced whats there ... But I'll go take a photo of it ... I think it used to be spring loaded and pivot , But I haven't messed with it yet ... as it works !

Yes it goes beyond "spirit of the class " But it would probably not work much better than good drums and shoes set up correctly , with a stout cable on the front ! , Most rears are rod actuated ... So I don't think you would gain much except some weight ...

Well today in prep for going to Tenn. I gutted whatever wiring I could off the section without bike disasembly . It all still works as it should , so I'll sanitize it all when I take her apart . And the horn is now off the bike !
I'm bringing all my bikes for the ITSA show tent at the world round , although I'll use my ever-faithful 240 to get me to and from the section I will be observing at . I can't wait to get there !

I went out to my shop and gutted some of the excess wiring from my 'new' 97 section , and after making sure it all still worked with a Quick putt about the yard , I had to ride my ever faithful 240 for a spell too ... And I've got to put my FM330 50cc back together so I can bring it to the ITSA bike show along with the other 3 bikes ...

As I started breathing in Nov. of 60 , I have a faint recollection of my dad getting us boys to sit still and watch the Ed Sullivan show with him ...
And there was always music on in our house , Dad had a big 'ole stereo in his photo studio , Everything but opera was listened to . I remember alot of chicago's earlier stuff real good ...
-
I'll second that notion ...!

Happy days Wayne , And Cope as we are about the same age , I used to listen to a radio station that played stairway to heaven every night at ten ...I'll never forget my first tape player and the beatles tape I wore out !

I've always left them in a solvent tank for a day or two , then done the torch trick ... Much to the dismay of fellow employ's and most service managers ...

woodstrokes , interesting video , but what has that got to do with trials ????

You did put a bit of anti-seize/heavy grease on each spoke threaded end and dab on the nipple/rim contact seat didn't you ?
It makes truing easier now and in the future ... Just a tiny bit will do fine /

From A 74 ty80 owners manual ; 85cc each , Non -foaming hydraulic fluid 10, 20, 30. wt. I think I had ran 10wt. in my son's ty80 when it still had the original forks on it. There is a drain screw on the ty80 forks so you can get get 99% of the oil out of them before refilling .
Get a OE owners/service manual for it if you can it has all the info you will ever need for the little bike , they show up on ebay all the time !

Tank Vent ? Dirty petcock ? floatbowl vent ?

And Denso Iridium plugs work wonders too ... ( better spark with our old low energy ign's.)
-
Are you gonna be there Zippy ?
-
You Can adjust and set up the rock shocks yourself ... The falcons are what they are except for the preload ...
Play with them both and see what works for you , And that may change as you get more comfortable on the bike !!
