I'd be willing to bet that at the most the top riders may have a choice of rubber compounds available , but the actual tire construction is the same . And as to the silk screened logo or decal on the sidewall ... that's just advertising for mich... It's common practice in any race series .
Trials is such a small market (even at the world level) that changing construction methods is cost prohibitive , but changing the mix poured into the mold is easy and cheap . Changes in density , adhesion , and porosity can all be made quite easily , and will have drastic effects on what the tire will do under certain conditions .

You may need someone there with hands on experience ... Kinda hard to diag. and explain how to adjust over a keyboard ... Just load it up and get it to Bill to sort out for you , it will save your sanity and prevent costly mistakes !
Good luck

Check the Swingarm for excessive play in the pivot ... other than that pretty bulletproof ...

Contact B&J Racing in TN. Or Mike at the Trials Shop , And I believe Adrian at Lewisports has a fondness for TLR 's. Mike at the trials shop has Ariette fork seals and I don't think you'll find a better seal , if they make one for your bike .And I may be mistaken , but I think the XR 250 of the same vintage was the same as far as basic gaskets go ...
Have fun with it , I'd love to find one !!!

Check out http://metrolinatrials.com/ , our core group is in the Charlotte area , I'm down near Charleston , And there are some folks around greenville and I think the Clemson area . Also check out http://www.stratrials.com/ We are out there , and always welcome new riders . The whole Trials crowd will be a completely different motorsports experiance than you have ever seen . Overall the best folks on two wheels .
Come on up to Lake Houser on August 26th and ride with us . Just jump on in , you won't regret it !!!
