Hi ; Being in Knoxville check out http://www.stratrials.com/ there are members in your neighborhood and they have classifieds on their site too. you maybe able to find a Yamaha TY or a Honda TL / Reflex for cheap if you just want to play in your yard .
If you've got time Sunday , take a drive to Shelby NC and meet some MTR folks . We are having a fun ride tomorrow and a Ryan Young Trials school at the same location in March ...Details can be found here
http://metrolinatrials.com/ Great people and a guaranteed good time !!! I'll be the grumpy old guy on a Fantic 240 pro and my youngest son may be on my Fantic trials bicycle ...
But be forewarned ; Trials is ADDICTIVE !!! and it will make you a better rider in all discipline's on two wheels . In trials your hardest competition is yourself ...

There is a metal insert in the airbox , so just remove the broken bolt carefully . I've mounted mine with Thin rubber spacers so the old box can wiggle just a bit , And if you want to a K&N air filter PN.E-3211 will fit the stock air box with some self adhesive rubber weatherstrip on the edges Quite comfortably ...
Breathes alot better .!!!

If you look at the edge of the rings ,(may need a magnifying glass...)you will most likely see the edges are shaped differently , as in there is a 1st and 2nd ring and a top and bottom to each one and they may be different thicknesses too. Just follow the instructions on how and where to install them and all will be good ...

(and sometimes they are made of different material )

Starting sometime in the 240's production run the factory doubled the down tubes,Tube in a tube , for more strenght , But I don't think you can tell when looking at a frame , as they still bent/cracked...
These days you will most likley want to steepen the fork angle a little anyways ,so a crack or distortion is no big deal...
If your anywhere nere Classic trials in the UK , contact them , as Chris has a chassis jig set up to make them right ,and knows the time proven method of strengtening that weak spot And can set one up to compete with the modern boys if you so desire ...

I lived in Palm Springs in the late 70's thru the early 90's ... Used to be able to ride all over the valley , And you could ride up to the high desert too . But with all the land closures and OHV registration laws , I'd check with some local bike shops and or clubs to see if you can even ride a non green sticker-ed bike without the law taking it or fining you , and just wrecking you vacation !!!
Good Luck ...
Glenn
PS. There was even maybe a world round?? in the desert below Big Bear back in the 90's ,And there may still be a riding area off highway 18/247 around Camp Rock Road ? Google it ...
PSS. Contact www.socaltrials.com And they can tell if they still ride in the Lucerne Vally and what the laws may be ...

Paul; Maybe just the padding on your tank rubber , depending on it's condition.
Closed cell self adhesive weather strip can work wonders ...
Glenn ,
PS . and thank Chris ...

"I personally think that if the hopping rule is in place then you shouldn't be allowed to dab while stationary ( as it was prior to 1997 ) and then the true skill of hopping will show rather than being able to stand there with a foot down. " AKA parked on your kickstand ...
