  1. Doug ...! My fork angle is not quite OE ! MERRY CHRISTMAS Glenn
  2. Chrome ... is that over nickel ? And I wish I could come ride both days ! Glenn
  3. Best post yet ... Cut right to the meat , And now it lays bleeding ... Style and finesse count in my book , Feet on the pegs , and if you need a dab , plan it and place it !
  4. Google Rubber Magic ... And poke around , and yes it will soften old tires And so do all the homemade mixtures of tulene and alcohol and atf and such ... but I'm not a chemist !
  5. So it was a wee bit cold out ...?
  6. As the Christmas spirit will be flowing over the festivities I thought I would share this experience about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many margaritas and some rather nice Merlot. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home. I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got this one...
  7. Thanks ,!!! I've always thought the WES springs I put in the Fantic a few years ago were not quite right, always felt a little to soft for my 200+ pounds and I don't see me getting much lighter ... May have to get a set of magical springs Merry Christmas Glenn
  8. I don't know about the WD-40 method ,But one of the guys at our shop is a hardcore kart racer and he uses a stuff called Trak Byte , and another new on the market brand. He usually starts about a week before a race ! He's made a stand to hold the wheel and tire , then he runs a needler repetedly over the tread surface , then warms up the tires with a propane torch attachment (rosebud) then apply's the potion to the tires with a roller , wraps them in plastic wrap until the race . I've seen him unwrap a back tire and push it onto 1/2 a cinder block and proceed to lift the block piece off the ground with the tire !!!! But I don't know if it would help in real world trials riding ,Maybe a indoor event . He is also racing on a clay oval , and when he does asphalt he has a whole different procedure ?! The tire warmers come out at times too . Glenn
  9. I have a 300 seat waiting to go on my 240 too, just haven't got around to it yet ... All you have to do is remove the stock seat and the side panels , set the 300 seat in place where it will hold your tank down correctly and you will see right where you have to weld some bolt tabs to the frame to line up with the 300 seat bracket bolt holes ...! Basically dead center of the rear side cover hole . If done correctly cover will still snap in place ... Glenn
  10. Are the magical progressive springs any stouter than the WES progressive 35mm springs ? Thanks, Glenn
  11. Cope, At a ITSA event if it's got two wheels and brakes and is SAFE to ride , Bring it on out and ride it! You should see some of the ingenious creations that have been built and work quite well ... Glenn
  12. MV... These are the ITSA riding rules copied and pasted from their website... Make of them what you will... Section Scoring Definitions Ø Clean: No points (zero). The rider completes the section without committing an error. Ø Dab: Any intentional contact (dab) between a rider's foot, or any other part of the body, and a supporting surface or object either inside or outside the boundary is scored one point. Dragging a dab is considered a 3. Ø Touching both feet to the ground at the same time while astride the machine = 2 points (one dab for each foot). Ø Footing: three or more dabs, or paddling with both feet = 3 points. Ø Failure: The following instances during a section attempt will result in a score of five points: o Stopping with a foot down o Stopping and balance will be permitted. o Ribbon out-of-bounds: a machine may ride on a ribbon, but not beyond it. There must be ground visible between the inner edge of the tire and wrong side of the ribbon to be considered a 5. This also applies to the ribbon used in a split gate. o Crossing own wheel track, one or both. o Displacement of markers within section. o Both feet on same side of motorcycle. I personally don't think it can get any simpler than That. And yes Bob himself gave me a 5 for doing a rollback but it was stated plainly in the riders meeting and I forgot ... Get out to a ITSA event and ENJOY yourself ! Glenn
  13. You need to get that bike out to some of our Metrolina Trials riders events!! We are in your backyard !!! Glenn PS... NICE Section !!!
  14. ITSA fact that itsa events are real trials events ... Bob has made a fantastic series of events ,and I believe if you contact him @B&J Racing , he can set up a club charter for you , including ins. provisions too. (I think...) The only problem is he can't clone himself to layout sections for you ... He is the master at laying out no stop class appropriate sections. I personally haven't been to TN. to see him for over a year now ,(work, spec miata racing, kids, college, etc...)But he has helped with our local clubs events and rules. Trials by Trials riders for Trials riders... Thanks Bob . Glenn And PS Tony , How is that beautiful RE ???
  15. So section 11 on the A route was tough , and the rest of the scores look like a normal day's riding among mixed competitors ... Not to high not to low and no clean loops that I saw . Looks like it worked from here . Glenn
  16. " (Took special skill too considering it was my left leg and the header is on the right side)" You still riding around backwards ???? Glenn
  17. I had to disasemble 2 triumph GT6 motors today to see if I had enough left to build a fresh one ... Man I wish I was riding ... It's that time now ... Glenn
  18. I'm still well pleased with my Trialscast pegs , they've been on the bike a few years now... Glenn

    FM330 ...?

Hey all of you fellow fantic fanatics ... Would it upset the worlds balance and sense of justice if I put a spare TY80 engine into my kids fm330 50cc , as it currently has zero compression and feels like its full of gravel when you turn it over by hand ... Been looking at it with a tape measure and it won't be a hard swap at all ,maybe even more practical than hunting down and obtaining the pieces for the little ...Unless one of you can get a line on a 80cc top end and gaskets to do the job ..? Just pondering possabilty's Glenn
  21. I'm depressed now ... Can we get back to Kenny the rooster ??? But as stated earlier , I think all of us westerners are in the same sinking ship... Obama and his give them a free ride for life followers worldwide need to get removed from power ... The world needs to get back to a "say what you do and do what you say " attitude , and earn and spend what you earn ,not more more than you can earn ... Saturday afternoon bored ... Glenn
  22. As stated above, Check Compression and make sure all is good , Then contact Classic trial and get a OKO carb from Chris and fit a K&N airfilter along with a iridium plug and all should be quite worthwhile ... Glenn
