  1. All I can add is my Grandfather broke his in the 1930's ... Waited until the late 70's for the replacement/repair surgery . He had always wished he had done it when the technology had first become available ... RIP Grampa . And I beleive the word is knee !!! Glenn
  2. WOW ... Completely changes the perspective . Makes it look even harder/more NUTS! gotta be impressed by the ones who are that capable ! Glenn
  3. That is beutiful !!! Just how many "winters" were needed to get it to that condition ? How many of those were built ? Must be rare as hens teeth ... Glenn
  4. True , But look at the legend that is riding it ...! Like they used to say " you could put Roger Decoster on a honda trail 90 , and he'd still win ! " Glenn
  5. "I suggest football pads for practice! " And maybe a soft grassy spot to land ... Glenn
  6. One of the strangest things I ever worked on was a OLD Harley Davidson two stroke golf cart ... A buddy of mine in Lake Arrowhead owns it . Generator is the starter and achieves reverse by stopping the motor and restarting it backwards ... All automatically at the throw of a lever after the cart has come to a stop . Gear train included a electro/mechanical centrifical clutch feeding a large torque converter (aka snowmobile size) ,that would apply drive power and also stop the crank rotation to change directions ... I got to rewire it from scratch (without a schematic !) after agreeing to the task late on a friday nite and too many beers. It only took me about 6 months of spare time and alot of phone calls to my Dad ... (retired electrical engineer...) who said I was nuts to even try to make it work again . Quite the ingenious layout of Large diodes and relays , 2 battery's (one neg.ground and the other pos.ground ) Just proved to me that some engineers had way too much time on their hands and access to some really good hallucinogens ... But after it got working and painted with trick alloy wheels and such , it was a show stopper ! Glenn
  7. Hindsight is always 20/20 ... Beutiful Drawings though ! Glenn
  8. Classic Copey !!!! Reminds me of myself at times ... Right up there with UPS sending me a postcard to have me verify my address ... If my Address ain't right , How am I gonna get the post card !?!?!
  9. Got my Triton AUT53B yesterday , What a thing of Beauty ! By the looks of the welds and construction and hardware ,I'll never need another trailer And the folding ramp is even lower than I thought , And Boy is it light for the size and load capacity ! I'll be able to put all our bikes and gear on the trailer and keep the car empty ... Glenn
  10. I just received from UPS a box with a Looks to almost unused 300 seat for my 240 ... $43 usd inc. shipping ... (soft and looks brand new !!!)
  11. Those are really nice !!! But I took a freinds little featherlite for a tow , and Copey is right , with my Suzuki towing it , it works wonderful up to about 52 mph... Then the airbrakes start to apply ! (harder the faster you try to go !!!) ... So I broke down and ordered a open Triton today with a bifold ramp on back and a few other features ... I'll post some photos when it and my proper hitch get here !!! ( and the triton weighs 250lbs less than my old trailer ...! ) Now I'll just get a good tent and gear etc.... Glenn
  12. Ben !!!! That is it Mine is a 2wd 5speed . '09 model . All I need is the drawbar/hitch kit that bolts to the car . If you look at the accessory page it's on there . You are a lifesaver ! PM me for my contact info etc....Tow Bar Part Number: 990AA-01718-K02 Thank you very much . Glenn
  13. Hello to our mates Down Under ; I need someone willing to go to a Suzuki Car dealer and obtain a trailer hitch for my 09 SX4 crossover !!! The Factory Suzuki hitch available there is not to be had here in the states and is far superior to the Draw tite hitch I have now . Any help greatly appreciated , As I ordered a proper trailer today. Even contact info from a willing parts man at a dealer would be great ! PM me any info PLEASE !!! Thanks , Glenn
  14. I'm pretty sure that ain't a cub ... Maybe he means "Time Trials " aka road racing ... Thinks that one might be scary on anything but pavement ...! Glenn
  15. Good point , But I will hookup to slightly larger one than I plan to buy , and take it for a jaunt (empty) down the freeway before I splash the cash . Time will tell ... Thanks , Glenn
  16. Cope , I'm looking at 8x5's + the V nose section . Wells cargo makes a serious trailer , But weight is most prominent on my list at this point in time... I'm leaning towards a Triton , And mine will never see close to the load capacity of the trailer ... I'm setting it up to tow behind my SX4 crossover (2wd ,5 speed) . Suzuki usa does not list a towing capacity for it here , but in austrailia and europe they do ...! Mine has a 2000lb hitch on it , (not much , but still under the au. advertised max spec .) I've towed my open bike trailer w/3 bikes on it without a issue (except for MAJOR wind resistance @ speed !) So I'm thinking a little V-nosed trailer set up with bikes and gear will only be about 350 lbs. heavier (approx. 1200 lbs) and not suffer the major drag issue . And yes I'll get it built with as low a height as they will , 6ft. I believe. And I'm really tired of shelling out $$$ for hotels , so it will be a event habitat too . Glenn
  17. Hi all ; I'm thinking about getting a new small enclosed trailer for my trials travels ... I need a consensus of opinions ... Triton or Featherlite ??? I can get a good deal on either, But I want opinions on the lifespan ... (aka the last trailer I want to buy !) Thanks , Glenn
  18. Slogger ; 1, Get a new brake cable !!! adjuster just screws into the fork leg ... Venhill makes all the cables for it still . 2, Contact Dellorto.co.uk for carb bits and their website has complete parts diagrams ... Or if it's got good compression , contact Classic trial and get a new intake boot and clamps with a OKO carb from Chris ...! If the dellorto is worn don't waste time and money trying to make it work ... and yes there is a fiber washer under the fuel inlet and one on the bolt too ... Glad to here that she fired up that easy ... And contact Steve Goode for a late model ignition coil too , The stock one will fail soon ,,, Glenn
  19. Looks like a good place to start !!! Mine looked worse when I got her a few years ago ! Glenn
  20. Or you can find a local small airport and buy ave. gas ... Leaded , no ethanol , high octane rating , and you can store it almost indefinitely ... More expensive than pump premium , but cheaper than race fuel . Works great for me ! Glenn

  22. Addicttive !!!! Heck if I don't get to ride/compete at least every 3 months or so I start having withdrawal symptoms .... And my kids tell me to go riding !!! I've even gone as far as quitting a job because they interfered with my time to ride !!!! The Best sport with the best people ! period! Glenn
  23. From the info on the website , they are based on 1998 yokohama technology !!??!!! ... I don't remember a yoko trials tire , unless they were OE. on some enduro bikes ? Glenn
