  1. Click on this link ... http://www.fantictrials.co.uk/ . Then scroll down the page a little and you'll find downloadable info on your trusty Fantic .! Good Luck with the old girl... Glenn And PS. All of us old Fantic riders would love to have a Real Shop Manual , But Unless you were a Fantic dealer back in the day , I don't know if they ever made such a thing ... All I've ever found for my fantics are parts books and some torque spec sheets . If they are out there I'd love to be able to buy a set too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    New Ossa

Reading some of the info on ossa site ... Direct injected , 40mm inverted forks with a 40mm conventional fork option, 67kg dry weight ...Wow , just too cool , If you waste some time there you can get all kinds veiws and some info . Pain to use though ...

    New Ossa

But didn't yamaha beat them to the punch on the reversed layout engine ... ? IE. the already been tested wr450 mx'r. Another technoligical marvel though ... Maybe they will release a new MAR too , The tooling still has to be about somewhere ... I know quit dreaming outloud ... Glenn

    Flywheel Puller

I'm not sure if all the Fantic built Fantic motors are the same , But my 240 uses a 26 x 1.5 puller. Glenn
  6. I agree that no stop , less severe sections may help the longevity of our sport . Trials for me has always been a individual thing . Me against that rock /muddy spot/offcamber/slippery log/tight turn section . I also agree that watching some of the top level riders can get pretty intimidating . But I don't understand where the fun is in having some guy yell at you while your concentrating on riding , on where your tire has to go cause you can't see the next step/hole/turn/obsticle to position yourself in the proper spot . And the whole concept of needing someone to spot on almost every section cause even at the top level you've only got about a 50% chance of getting thru the section clean , and if your offline by a inch or two , you and or your bike are gonna get broke ... Without someone to catch you . Well maybe not quite that bad , but still ... Glenn
  7. But the other side of the question ... Well worth the 18hr drive , And your son and hubby will have the time of their lives ... A fantastic venue and some of the nicest people you can find on the planet . But I wouldn't want to be there for a week without a way to get into town... If you could pack a street legal bike along ,that would be about perfect. Then you could leave them with no worries . Glenn
  8. So did it work ? And did you have fun riding ? Glenn

    A New Ossa ?

And I completely missed the previous post too ... Life in the dark ages !
  10. Obviously a future time traveler ... , Trying to figure out how to get the bike for some twinshock events !!!

    A New Ossa ?

Not to stir the pot about new bikes and the rules regarding bikes in competition , What are we going to do if the new Ossa (release nov. 10 ... I think ?) http://www.ossafactory.es/v3/index.php#home Is a twinshock ,Watercooled ,manual disc brake machine ... Or if it is just a new twinshock ? Does it get to compete against the old twinshocks like mine , or does it go up against the modern bikes ? Only clue I see about the bike is TR280 injected ....... And is this the same folks that closed the Ossa factory doors in what 1985 ? Glenn

    2010 Xispa

Gee Whiz ... I'd just like to SEE or Ride one ... Glenn
  13. After searching for months to locate a shoi? trials lid over here , I too got a shiro from Mike , Comfortable , great fit and washable liner/padding . @ a fair price , Works for me ! Glenn
  14. I know I have a one track mind , But I still think the Blonde in the extra photo's is the best feature of the post ... Although I like the unconventional fuel tank and exhaust , I would really like to some proper drawings/photos/details of the fresh setup ... New Ideas are almost always Doubted until shown to work . And I doubt sherco would have released the bike without some proper testing of the concept ... Glenn
  15. I would like to see some info on the exhaust system and fuel tank ... Looks pretty clever to me . And is the hottie a sherco rider ? Glenn
  16. Yeah we have a load of fun And you'll get to see some of the best (restored , customized , homemade , Tricked out , State of the Art ...) Twinshock bikes on this side of the pond getting thrown at rocks and logs and whatever else is available just for the sake of doing it and having some old school hardcore FUN ! And I don't think any of us truly cares who wins what , As long as your smiling while you do it ! Just ask my kids ,I get real depressed when I can't afford the trek to a ITSA event . Trials by Trials riders For Trials riders ... I think the motto say's it all ... And on a side note , one of a kind twinshock bikes are kinda encouraged here ... Glenn
  17. Not to jump on one side or the other ,But You have to give credit to the ingenuity of some of our ITSA members .... The bike pictured has been converted to fit ITSA modern twinshock rules . Drum brakes , air cooled , Twin shocks... And knowing the owner/builder of this bike I would have have to say that it will only be ridden in good old no stop twinshock events ... And it was probably built just to see if it would work ... Follow the link ! Montesa 315 (220cc Yamaha Blaster engine , Fabricated Drum brakes , Sano Twinshock instalation !) Glenn Better yet , look at the photo below ... Thanks doug , I couldn't get it to load correctly ! (not the sharpest tool in the shed and all !!!)
  18. I hope one of our bay area brethren snatch that one up ... Glenn
  19. Ain't that the truth ... I'm currently wrenching at a little motorcycle shop (Until I start teaching this coming spring at a local tech. college ...) , And maybe 1 out of 100 people that come thru the shop/store and interrupt my work by asking questions about their riding lawn mower or something else , always ask what kind of bike I ride . And the explanation starts ... Very few have any grasp of what trials is . Always amazes me that self confessed motorcycle enthusiasts , that "have been riding and racing for years " Don't have a clue as to where the sport started . I mean am I wrong or isn't the scottish About the oldest form of motorized competition there is ? Not to Derail the Bultaco thread or anything ... Glenn

    North Florida?

Just how far From Charleston SC. are you guys ... I've been going to NC and TN to get my fix ... Glenn
  21. Coming into this discussion Late , But that sure looks like a worn out KNOBBY back tire in the photo ... And what type of dirt bike tires cost That much anyways ... But if it runs decent it may be a great project bike , for a little less cash than he wants ! My two cents worth ... Glenn
  22. His next two articles should be quite interesting ... The TR85 Drawing is a beutiful design . Very Talented man . Glenn
  23. Didn't mean to be rude or anything , But AHRMA won't let "modern twinshocks " compete for points ... But get to a local event and just ride exhibition , I can't think of any groups that would tell you that you can't ride ! Unless the bike has knobby tires on it and/or looks to be unsafe to ride ... But truly , just get out and ride .................... Gotta go load the trailer and go play

    Ossa

So I take it my current bikes are gonna have to be the modern twinshocks for me ... But I agree with the statements above , That a well though out NEW aircooled , drumbraked , twinshocked bike would be a good seller ... As we all know it gets expensive adding modern technology to our old bikes where we can !
