  1. The ones from inmotion are very good. I have a brand new MAHLE in the box but it's 84.75 i also got a new MAHLE piston for my 199b witch is in and awaiting to put in the bike. I can get MAHLE pistons but need the port holes putting in and the skirt needs trimming down as there pursangs pistons.
  2. I have a spare 198A (250) barrel and head
  3. Be a nice bike if you made it into a 250 iv'e just rebuilt 2 x 250 engines.
  4. It's easy to do make sure you don't hit the fine threads on the stem or you will never get the nut on i use a nylon block to hit the stem or a block off wood should not need alot off heat some can be more stubon than other's. To slide the new bearing on the stem only needs a small amount off heat then will slide on with ease. Hope this helps.
  5. I had 1 and got a good price for it i also have a spare 198b frame S/Arm and forks and yokes. There nice bikes but nothing special about them just that they didn't make alot off them however i do have it's big brother the 340 witch is curantly under going major restoration. nice bike tho.
  6. Yes i use mikuni never had any trouble with them easy to set up. However i do have a bing on my 199A it dose work well on it so i leave it on but i had a 198A same as your's it had a Amal had nothing but trouble with it but now you have the new jets may as well try it but i did the same thing and i just had no joy hope it works for you but failing that mmikuni are good and a popular choice for many.
  7. Throw the Amal carb in the bin and replace with a new mikuni carb is a good way to go i really wouldn't bother wasting money on new jets. on a old tired Amal carb.
  8. I only ask about the seal as the spacer as to push throw it with the top hat lip facing the bearing.
  9. Did you replace the seal behind the front sprocket? Also as above the clutch Arm won't work correctly 1 off my bikes had same problem so i had a new bit alloy welded on.
  10. Order a new front sprocket from inmotion no need for a washer as i said above may be the spacer is missing?????
  11. The socket size is 32mm and the front sprocket nut unscrews counter clockwise as you tought. I see your ignition case rear Arm is broke. Also iv'e had the chain catching on the tab washer that locks the nut some times iv'e had to trim it down on the 11 tooth sprocket there should be a spacer (TOP HAT) behind the front sprocket.

And 1 or 2 other things are slightly different. i do know the kick start return spring gets half a turn i half done it correctly the Arm has worn on the end i was inqiring if any body could let me if any other stop Arm would be ok for this model. have a grand day Larry.
  17. Hello yes as above am having some issus with my 199b rachet stop lucky for me the Engine is having a over all the stop Arm on mine as worn a groove on the end so it's not allowing it to keep the rachet in fare engouth away from the starter cog there for i will have this same problem as you if i don't fix it
  18. Hello 1973tr6 thank you for your input i can't see any differents regarding the complete kick startshaft and rachet mechanism on my 199b to my 199A witch i not long rebuilt i also have a 198A witch is apart and the stop Arm is same as the spare 1 i have the end off the stopper is slighly thicker and the the lenth abit shorter any way thank you anymore help would be wellcome.
  19. Hello can any 1 tell me if the kick start rachet stopper on my 199b is it different to any other?reason i ask is am rebuilding my Engine and noticed it was worn i have some spare but are abit shorter in lenth they do fit the only difference i can see is the hook bit that keeps the rachet in place is abit wider i need to know before i build it so any help would be good.
  20. Depending on witch kill switch you have if it's the original style made from metal then it will earth on the bars most others have 2 wires 1 will need eathing the other goes to the black wire. Iv'e just put a new electronic ignition on my newly built 199A Engine all i did to water proof the the wire was fill the rubber gromit with silicon and run the wire on the inside off the down tube.
  21. When i try my clutch out on setting it up i just replace the case and only use 2 bolts this stops the ATF oil flinging all over th engine once clutch is set i wipe edge of clutch case replace gasket top up with new oil. to get the pressure plat run true i tie wrap the clutch leaver in then turn kick start with my thumb on the edge off the pressure plate i check for run out and ajust each nut untill it runs true. Then put lock wire on the nuts.
  22. I have 4 barnet plates on my 325 also i had the clutch case modified to lighten the clutch.
