    Bultaco

if there is movment in the clutch and magneto they need changing. on the con rod its normal for side play. not the crank bearing. so you will have to split the engine.

    199B Frame Colour

oh thank you for that i can't remember saying that cheers.
  7. hello all can any body tell me what colour white the 199B is? am just tiding my 199B up shes not to bad it's just the back end needs abit off TLC i don't want to strip the full bike iv'e already strip most off it forks are having a service and paint. i was tempted to take the engine out but i can live with it ill upload some photos off my progress. cheers guys.
  8. hello i had same problem with a new alloy tank the fork tube was hitting the bolt on 1 side.you can rather buy another bolt with a allen flat head or do what i did grid the hex head down but make sure you leave enough on it to get your spanner on it. or if it.s a plastic tank you can pull the neck in alot more than a alloy 1 and cut abit off thread on the bolt. another thing i did with the new alloy tank was the stock steering stops wasn't quit long enough like 2 or 3 mm so i bought some nylon bar cut to size drilled and rounded off on the blank side did the the job nice very close to the tank with out hitting it and didn't lose any lock.
  9. am just about to put a new chain on my 199B the old chain has 1 half link and 2 split links. so i will do the same with new chain will let you know how i get on.
  10. good news mate am also putting persang springs in mine.
  11. hi have used both magicals and persang springs and both are good am 16.5 st so not the lightest rider but there ok for me. with 180ml off 15W
  12. am not sure on that 1 mate but i do think some off the 325 (350) did have the same groove in the head if so they may fit the 340 if not i should think it would be hard to find a 340 head on it's own. i have a 350 spare engine 199A but it wont fit a 340 all the 350 engines iv'e had have all been the same. with the copper head gasket iver come across 1 with out. unless it was the early 350 that had the raised barrel. is the 340 motor to put into a 199B frame? or just as a spare?
  13. the 199A and 199B won't fit each other has pschrauber says. the 199B has a raised barrel and locks into the head into a groove the 199A is a flat face on barrel and head.
  14. the copper gaskets like these.
  15. hello thick i used a flat washer and a fiber washer i tightened the Allen bolt up with a electric in pack gun did't need anything to put down the tube to spot it turning the in pack gun winds in fast. the other way is there's a slot on the damper you can use a long flat screwdriver if you have 1 it's a big hard to do this way on you'r own. but you have done it now so sorted.
  16. yes am going to have some done for my next project. to the head steady there not fiddly if you know how to put them on proper. i had the same problem when i first ever put 1 on. need to first put the cylinder head on the barrel put the 1 bolt throw the head steady this is longer than the other bolts make sure you have thick washer also. only put the bolt and nut on the head steady lose make sure tho it's turned a few turns. hat this stage don't put any other bolts in the head push the rear of the head steady up onto the frame bracket then put the bolt throw head steady and frame. leave it loose. now you can put the rest off the head bolts in and stud nuts and torq in the correct way the last bolt to be tightend should be the frame bolt on the head steady to stop any stress on the head. some do it other ways but ive never had any problems this way. but this is only the top end there is the engine and bash plate and S/Arm all need to be done in order.

  21. this is the Electronic ignition i had few years ago. from inmotion.
  22. ok ill give it ago not be for ages yet.
  23. i do have a spare 250 clutch weight and magneto would this be ok on a 350? will the 250 weigh and magneto make it more snappy? also will it stall easy with them on?
  24. oh i see what dose that do to the bike dose it make it more snappy? i was thinking off tryin a 250 weigh and magnot on a 199A engine i have.
  25. sorry to butt in bullylover when you say lightened the primary drive do you mean you have put a lighter weight on it? i was thinking off buying a electric ignition for my 340 but it's running very well on points at the moment. but would like a electric 1 for another bike am going to be doing.
