It's www.manchester17.org.uk

Yeah unfortunately sounds like similar problems to my electrical problems, a CDI unit fixed it for a short while, but it still wasn't right and I had to have a new stator fitted. Give Lampkins a call, they're very helpful
-
Sorry to bring it up again but have you checked there is play in the rod. No play gives the symptoms you describe.
Also check that there isn't any play in the pivot for the brake lever. It needs to push squarely towards the master cylinder.

Yeah, this is seriously p*ssing me off now too, I replaced the master cylinder as I said, the fluid is coming through in big spurts with each press if you bleed it off, there's just no pressure and nothing I do seems to work,
I took off the caliper and split it, fired out the pistons with an airline, they came out only after twenty minutes or so's persuasion and plenty of boiling water, they fired out like bullets!! cleaned them all up inside, checked the seals and it all looks A OK, pushed them back in and they're still giving me grief! All I want is my back brake back!
Found a cheap caliper here :

From an earlier thread.
I'm chucking

Nightmare, spent ages trying to get this working today, replaced the rear master
cylinder which has made no difference (
-
Right, a full day trying to get my rear brakes working to no avail, looks like I'll be spectating tomorrow instead

What's the difference between the club and the beginners, is it that the beginners has no middle/hard/expert routes? will I be able to ride on the 29th as I'm not a member there yet?
-
You got that DAMNED right mate!! see you there

According to the TC calendar there is

Nice one cheers, what's the deal there then, turn up and pay? Is it a proper practice place or what? What kind of terrain?

Expect to fall off
Expect to see kids putting you to shame
Both happen to me on a regular basis

Hulk Hogan had a hip replacement and got back in the ring.
No I don't like wrestling, but it was on MTV -Hogan Knows best (funny as)
-
Could be the valve, or maybe it's not beaded entirely properly?
-
Have trials parts now gone the way of auto parts?
Can you no longer buy the rubber bits to freshen up a master cylinder?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I dunno, they never mentioned, I'm a bit of a noob to fixing my own bike but I'm having a crack at it, they relieved me of about
-
Spoken to Lampkins who suggested a new Rear Master Cylinder, so I've ordered one and I'll see if it rectifies my problem!

Yeah checked that too, the pedal's got full movement, it goes all the way down with little pressure by hand
-
Surprisingly I didn't fall off at that trial, however I did come off big style the trial before buy it landed on the side of the chain not the caliper.
Next door neighbour put a lorry brake bleeding kit on it (he's a lorry mechanic) which ran off my car battery, so I assume that thing had enough power to bleed it forcefully enough.
Do you reckon I should try a new master cylinder on it? How much are they roughly?
-
Excellent, Thanks guys. Now if I can just get my rear brake working I'll see you all there
-
Yeah I can see it moving in and out freely, I'm getting some friction onto the disc so if you pull the wheel round by hand you can stop it, but if you get on it, there's not much there to stop you. I recently changed the rear pads, but that was before they stopped working.

Hi All,
Few weeks ago at a trial I lost my rear brakes. Had a quick look at the fluid (full) and then took the caliper off and had a look, there's no pressure on the foot brake and the cylinders weren't pushing out.
Got back home and bled the system out fully, still having the same problems, anyone got any ideas what I can try next?
Cheers
Andy

Great stuff, thanks mate.
I'll definitely see you there, look out for a big skinhead paddling through the sections.

Hi All,
Is anyone on here doing the Barnsley trial on the 29th? Not too far from me and I used to live there so gonna pop over and give it a go. One thing though, can't for the life of me work out where Dovecliff woods in Worsbrough is. been on multimap/ordnance survey but can't find the bugger.
Anyone on here know where it is/how to get there or a website/email address I can find out from please?
Telecat, I presume you'll be going won't you?
Andy
