Your best bet is to ride each manufacturer , they have different power deliveries . Sherco probably the smoothest power Curve Beta the sharpest but you really need to try to see what's best for you .
If your Stator did go but these we mostly on the Rev 3 beta would replace it free.

I got adviced to do the same from a Beta dealer.

Take your measurement with the spring out and fork compressed , some of the manuals are a bit misleading.

Mine is on Non DIsk Side .

Do you mind me asking how good condition wise it is and what you paid for it

I have a Rev 3 I liked it till I rode my sons Evo.
-
If you can get it close enought , I bolted the back of the sump guard on then managed to get mole grips on the front .

We have had a dodgy kill switch giving similar symptoms. Is it the original kill switch, I know some dealers are fitting after market ones to brand new bikes as the problem is that common.
-
Scorpa is a pretty reliable bike for a grand, Yamaha engine. Beta Rev 3 are pretty hardy beasts if your willing to look you will probably get a nice one again for a grand.

Trading In a 2011 to highland leisure next week for a new one if anyone's after one he should have it for next weekend. Not a thing wrong with it .

Some youths ride up to a 250 when riding AMCA trials, they then come to ACU, and have to ride a 125cc,
I understand the best route is progression, 50cc, 80cc, 125cc etc but if there already used to the 250 is it any benefit making then ride the 125cc

Best bike on the market for an average rider, only man pride would make you buy bigger.

The bike's power delivery can be a big thing. If you have smooth power delivery throughout the rev range helps a huge amount as your not on off the throttle.
Why some of the old bikes with experienced riders are able to ride slippy sections easy and the bike that's an animal is on off and the riders working hard.

My sons birthday is 24/04/96 , to save you doing the math he will be 16 in April.
Would he be able to ride as an adult when he turns 16 and would he just get his license changed from Youth A to an Adult?
Or are you a youth till the year ends of the year you turn 17.

The Quality may have changed , lucky if my sons lasted 6 months.

Yep try the kill switch a lot of the times it could be this , you still get a weak or intermittent spark . We thought it was the Stator at first.

I'm with Greeves on this.

I took it out yesterday and had a nightmare, but there is a Sherco dealer that comes to our trials. There appears to be a problem that is probably carb related.
Stripping down the carb this morning to see if it's muck, water, or different jets. They all agreed there is something wrong , so I'm actually quite happy I know there is a problem just have to get to the bottom of it.
Will keep you posted on what the problem is.
