  1. Top end is the same but that's all
  2. Anything modern is going to be so much better than your present bike.Trying as many as you can may leave you confused as to which is the best for you, there's not a lot to choose between them and they are all good.Ideally you need to ride a few sections, test riding in a dealers car park doesn't tell you much? Can you scrounge a ride on some friends bikes and end up with a short list and go from there
  3. There's a filter on the fuel tap inside the tank as standard, but another can't do any harm
  4. Is not disengaging at all,or dragging?Does the fluid level drop,if so I would look at the slave cylinder,if not I would do as Nigel says and check the clutch pack thickness, should be 9.85 mm.
  5. Are the clutch plates fitted in the right order?
  6. Apico will be fine,Putoline GP10 is good in the gearbox
  7. What fuel are you using, mine runs perfectly on super unleaded?
  8. Wait till you receive the cylinder and see if your reed block fits, bet they're the same
  9. Thought the parts would be more,as for jetting try it and see how it runs, nothing to lose
  10. Definitely piston and cylinder new base gasket, pretty sure the heads the same just change the insert.Finding the parts in good used condition might not be easy or cost effective tho
  11. Got an 18 280 rr,fitted slow throttle otherwise standard.Very controllable low down, plenty of go when you open it up,love it .300 is too much for most, brilliant if you're good enough,250 I found not hugely less powerful than mine
  12. Set it to where it runs best,1.5 turns out is weaker than 3/4 turns

    300 pro power issues

Flywheel weight and slow throttle works for me.10/42 gearing i found too low, mines 11/43
  14. It's done a lot to wear the black off .Id look for another bike
  15. I'd replace the clutch plates
  16. Are the areas on the clutch basket and hub where the plates touch smooth, any notching will give a terrible clutch
  17. I wouldn't wear a helmet that old ,they're not able to give effective protection that long.A new one doesn't cost much, certainly less than a head injury
  18. Not as above. If for example the spring is 200mm long uncompressed,8 mm preload means turning the threaded rings clockwise till it measures 192mm
  19. You could take the shock off your bike and compare it
  20. Id check the cylinder head O rings again, that's the only thing that would pressurise the rad to that degree.Does it have a pressure release valve in the top of the rad?if so sounds like it's faulty
  21. Racing and Gp are the 2 different models of a gasgas pro trials .The Gp is a higher spec, carbon airbox, better shock are the main difference, the racing is plenty good enough for anyone outside of world championships

    2019 RR Vs One

The 250 rev 3 did grip well, mainly down to having soft power. The modern 250 is much more powerful and has less flywheel weight, great for steps and climbs with little run up.Once you get used to getting your weight further back you'll be fine ,bit more damping on the shock helps grip, standard is quite bouncy.IRC rear tyre is best when it's muddy
