Stick with NGK,there's nothing out there that's better
-
Check for play in the shock mounting bushes and that everything's tight
-
-
I'd look for a second hand AJP,Braketec quality seems variable
-
Spares availability for Jotagas is fine and cheap.Ossa got dragged down with Gas Gas and putting the bike on sale before it was ready. The 2014/15 models were ok but the damage was done and not many riders wanted one.Think the Trs is what the Jotagas would have evolved into if Jordi was still there,I'd be interested in a Trs if I was looking to change
-
Not the best choice from this era, unless you particularly want one. This was the first model and it was ok rather than good.Spares availability poor.id buy something else
-
In the UK it would be about £3500,maybe second hand prices in US are higher.Brilliant bike, check for general wear and tear,if it's not done much there shouldn't be anything to worry about .Id want it for less than advertised, the new ones will be available soon
-
The water trick works, don't know why
-
Have you ridden both? The Beta is the sensible choice,I feel the TRS is the better bike but it's too soon to be certain.
-
Reliability at 2 years old is very much down to the maintenance a bike has received and where and how it's been ridden.I feel Doug must believe in it or he wouldn't be involved
-
It's not a road bike, different makes of tyre front and back is fine.Youre not the first to report this problem,Michelin is the answer
-
None to avoid, they have improved year on year, there's quite a difference between a2009 and a 2015'get the best you can find and afford
-
Enduro tyres grip far more than trials tyres do in mud,but your tyre has gone well past its best before date .Get a new Michelin,it'll be miles better.Once the square edge wears off the grip diminishes noticeably
-
It's a feature of the model and nothing to worry about. Its the fingers that operate the clutch rattling when there's no pressure on them until you pull the lever in,plenty of others have asked the same question. Its been there all the time, just that now you have a new(quiet)top end it's become more noticeable
-
Wonder if the staff are only employed when there's bikes to build?Does Spain do zero hours contracts as we do?
-
slow action is a longer twist, calms things down a fair amount and is easy and cheap to do.Itll grip better with more damping and with the spring set so it sags to 1/3 of the travel with you standing on it .Probably the most powerful bike out there, you'll need good throttle control to benefit from its ability,be patient.
-
I've left the bung in by mistake and started it up.Ran badly for a little while and fired the bung into the rose bushes.Scratched my hands retrieving it and learnt a lesson, more careful now
-
100/1oil mix may well give minimally better performance over 70/1,and that's probably the reason the factory states that ratio.I feel happier with a bit extra oil when I've got it on the stop in 3rd for several seconds burning up muddy hills we get round here.I don't think the gear oil lubricates the main bearings like the GasGas as the factory says gear oil changes every 100 hours which seems far too long to me.Comes out pretty black after 6 trials..I maybe over cautious buts it's my bike and my time and money that gets spent to fix it and oils cheap as opposed to engine rebuilds.
Gone a bit off the original topic now but the only trouble I've had with mine wasn't lubrication related
-
I use GRO light gear oil,it gives a progressive bite point and minimal drag, and GRO 2t at 70/1.Expensive compared to some I know but you get what you pay for.I did try ATF in the gearbox and found the gear change less smooth and the clutch too sharp.Great bike aren't they
-
There's surely people that would be interested after a test day and firm delivery dates.Feel sorry for Steve Saunders,Jotagas didn't work out.he must be wanting bikes to sell,it's been a year since he had any.Wonder if Trs employ the same PR people asJotagas did or just don't care
-
Would have thought they should be concentrating on getting bikes out there to sell, they must have spent huge figures to get this far.Theyve already got one of the two who can win a world round, they don't need someone who I don't feel will make the top 5 as well.Be better if they were seen in other countries competing for national victories. The various importers must want bikes to sell
-
ECU wouldn't accept not having info from the EFI if you fitted a carb, tho I reckon you could get one to fit.Probably possible to re write the ECU to accept it by someone who really knows what to do,but it wouldn't be cheap and you'd have to set it up on a rolling road
-
I've flushed boxes with petrol too, surprising what comes out.Dont start it though
-
Clutch fix well documented on the Beta forum, otherwise as above.Do remember it's 5 years old and it won't be like a 15 model but they are basically a good choice
-
If it's ready for factory riders, what's holding up production?Potential customers won't wait forever, they'll go elsewhere ,be good to have an official statement
