Just changed it ,very easy Clutch cover off, remove complete clutch by undoing centre Allen bolt, two 5 mm bolts hold selector assy in place, remove these and shaft knocks out through clutch side, takes quite a whack. If it goes again I'll upgrade it to the 2015 shaft, but the 2014 one is only £40 delivered from Haven Trialsport, received it next day

I know what to do with a carb.I also know enough about EFI and engine management to know how difficult they can be to fault find and fix.Its true there are people who can fix ECUs but they've been doing car ones for along time, fixing and resetting one they've never seen before and getting the programming so it runs right is different.KTM are huge in enduro and motoX,they don't inject their 2t only their 4t,they must have a good reason

If you want one you'd have to sell your present bike, then order your Vertigo and hopefully not wait long for it.Failing that you could buy it on a credit card and pay it off when you sell the old one and pay some interest. Most customers seem to like the convenience of part x,so avoiding potential thieves wanting to locate it and nick it,also avoiding the time wasters and dreamers out there.Vertigos policy might cost them a few sales, but if the demand is there it won't worry them unduly.Got to be more profit per bike without the dealers cut

Not having a lot of luck lately,it changed gear fine today till the gear change shaft broke. The gear lever turns 360 degrees now and its stuck in first.Does anybody know how to replace it?
-
Penrith isn't very central either,Morlais quarry was awesome as I remember but we're going back a long way, would it still offer enough for this era?
-
Can't see many people being keen on this.No enthusiast is impressed by a venue that is good to get the team trucks in then try to create sections near them.If they chose a good venue and spent the money on the access they'd get many more spectators and an event with some atmosphere.Im not going to drive 300 miles and pay for a hotel to see something that has become a pathetic showcase of the top level. Was Hawkstone park not available?
-
Soft ones feel nicer but don't last long, particularly if you drop it,the hard ones I found too harsh for my hands even with gloves.Id stay with the mediums
-
Is the Vertigo a better ride than your previous bikes?
-
Electric might well be the future but it's totally soulless
-
I think TRS and Vertigo will be available before GasGas and could take some potential GasGas customers,as have the established brands.Theres a lot more Betas and Shercos locally than a year ago.The number of riders who bought a new GasGas every year has shrunk and many are quite happy with their new bikes.I don't think they are going to sell like they used to sadly. As others have said there's too much choice
-
You've got to ride them to know which suits you best, can you cadge a ride off anyone?Once you ve made your choice buy the best condition one you can,a nice 2012 would be a better choice than a rough 2013 for instance
-
Thanks everyone,it's being fixed by Freestyle, they've had to do this before, will post the outcome

I've had it all apart, there was plenty of rubbish in there.Took the clutch off which had lots of silver particles in it which are flecks of paint off the inside of the casing. The paint was flaking off inside so I've removed it all .I can't see anything wrong with the selector drum, but I'm not confident everything is right.Only thing I found amiss was a2mm dia 4mm long metal piece lying on the clutch, but I can't see where it came from, there's nothing like it in parts diagram.Ive washed the box out with petrol and put it back together ?It seems better but not right. To select a lower gear the gear lever tip goes below the bash plate, higher gears the lever goes to about 11oclock.Maybe it all ways been like this and I've only noticed cos it's been sticking.Maybe I need to speak to Freestyle, thanks for your help gents
-
thanks James, that reason sounds logical,I'll do what you suggest.Id like to see that video if you could find it sometime please.

I have a 2014 jtg 250 that has done about 25 easy trials.Riding it yesterday and the gear lever sometimes stuck at either end of its travel which seemed to be further than usual. It still selects ok but the lever has about 10 degrees of play before anything moves inside.Theres no unusual noise or jumping out of gear, has anyone else had this problem and what fixed it please?
-
Not sure what you'd use it for.Tank appears the same size so it wouldn't go far, radiator appears the same too which would probably be ok in the winter but marginal in summer. If it's geared up up for the road 1st would be still too high for some off road going..I think trials bikes have become too specialised to easily convert into multi purpose bikes
-
Don't think TMX gets read much anymore, you can read about things online before the paper comes out
-
Have to be a very clean 4rt and a fairly rough Gasser for them to be the same price with a 6 year age difference, how much are they?4rt will last forever with proper maintenance but not everyone gets on with them, particularly when slippery.Gasser is lighter and pokies, but it didn't get scratched without being used fairly hard .Bikes that look rough generally need a good going over to get them right, which gets expensive.Has it got to be either of these 2 bikes?theres plenty out there
-
BVM test day was brilliant, you could try any bike on the same ground,no better way to decide the best bike for you. Be great if the new BVM could resurrect it
-
Can you Post a video so we can hear it?Hard to describe a noise/vibration accurately
-
How can you have too many top riders? You don't let your best rider go to a rival team through choice
-
The Vertigo is better now after a years worth of development than when Dibbs first rode it ,I think it's very difficult to make a bike better than the more established factory bikes, seems a sideways step For Fajardo.Maybe he was offered more money,Wonder who's going to get the redundant Beta ride?
-
Yes,the the thermostat is just a heat activated switch, which effectively joins 2 wires together above a certain temperature
-
Can't we get back on topic please
-
You could order one now,no one can say that I when you'd get it
