They got it just right, heavy shower just after the start didn't make too much difference, was really enjoying it till my clutch started slipping. Thanks to all involved
-
I would be checking the ignition for a good spark and then the timing.Piston looks fine, good job it didn't seize up,would have been a lot of money
-
We had 2 of these,my sons was on the original map, mine wasn't but I don;t know which map it was on.Mine was less aggressive at low revs, revved higher stalled ,much less easily and was the better bike.Back then the easiest way to change maps[choice of 4]was to send the cdi to Gas Gas UK and they would alter it.I suggest calling them to see if they still can do this
-
Just fitted one, works perfectly, wonder if those that have trouble have a weak spring.
-
The formula stuff has a bad reputation for reliability, not sure theres a market for secondhand stuff.Gas Gas fitted them for a year and returned to AJP,now made by Braketech.Only Sherco still fitting them, might now be OK,but alot of people don.t trust them
-
Maybe a 250 would suit your needs, rather than making the 300 less powerful/aggressive.My 2011 250 has more than enough power/torque to deal with anything I've come across, and its less tiring to ride and easier to kick over than a 300.The 300 is a great bike, but more suited to top riders who can use the power to their advantage
-
I would be concerned about a 2013 bike coming out of gear, can't believe you mis shifted that many times in one meeting

-
Can't see anyone beating him to the world title for years, must be frustrating for the others
-
10/41 or 10/42 is generally best, standard 11/42 gives 1st that is still too high and 4th is too much on a 250 unless its really slippery
-
Does the fluid level in the master cylinder drop?if it does it's the seal in the master cylinder, pull the boot back and see if theres fluid there If not it;ll be the seal in the clutch casing.GasGas Pro clutches normally slip, not drag when worn
-
Doesn't sound bad to me,you might be able to get it for less, try you have nothing to lose,£770 ok anyway.Won't cost much to sort it,seems all the costly stuff is ok 'you could pay more and get a worse one
-
I'd try and save up and get any recent 250 at about £2000,cheap bikes can turn out to cost more than you think to sort out,and they're not worth much more when sorted,If this isn't possible a Montesa 315 is the best bet at your budget and buy on condition rather than age.If you don't have much mechanical knowledge take someone who does when viewing, its easy to get carried away and make an expensive mistake
-
They are fine with dextron 3,don;t know about dextron 2
-
thanks Baldilocks, will do as you suggest
-
I broke my brake pedal last week[7 sections in]how annoying,it was a good trial.Ordered and fitted aftermarket one, rode it today and it twisted and became useless after 2 sections.Found it was possible to straighten it with a pair of small pliers, what a load of c---p.Am I unlucky or are they all this weak.?
-
Thats less than dealers pay for them, why would you let them go for that?maybe they came trom a duff batch. You normally get what you pay for
-
Remove the airbox, and turn it upside down. Its made in two halves and screwed together.Take it apart and seal the joint with some Stickaflex from a motor factors and screw it back together
-
Chalk and cheese,Mont is beautifully made and has a character an Evo doesn't,but is less competitive.Try both.see which one you like best and is most suited to the events you ride and your style and skill level
-
There's a company called Langcourts, they're in the West country[Google it]they will be able to fix it Definetly cheaper than new barrel, give them a call.
'
-
What happened to the Crowborough venue this year, one of the best venues we go to.
-
Shaft is hardened steel, you won.t drill it.Even if you could it would be considerably weaker.Loctite 270[as above and degreased threads] is favourite.Check it every trial to see if it loosens, but I don't think it will
-
Unfortunatly you get penalised for loyalty with some insurance companies. It's always worth getting alternative quotes whatever you're insuring,a lot of people get ripped off if they just accept the renewal quote
-
Check the ignition timing
-
Kicking back is the ignition timing too far advanced, try your mates carb on your bike to see if it runs better on the weaker jetting.Mixture screw is along way out, suggesting an idle jet a little too large,
-
Isn't it about time Beta sorted this out, virtually every other manufacturer uses the same design clutch with no problem.Ive done all the mods on my 2010 290 which has improved it hugely[thanks for your info guys],but still not as good as my 05 yz250 one
