Have you tried another stator?
-
If it's still got the Formula brakes on avoid it,they were a nightmare, used to stick on.Most would have been replaced with AJP or braktec by now,it's an expensive upgrade tho.Welding reinforcements to the frame where the fork yokes hit isn't a big deal, neither is replacing the fuel lines,it's a far better bike than the 06 that you mention
-
Is the crankcase full of premix? All the fuel that's gone into it has to be somewhere,it hasn't burnt it
-
Get a rawlbolt of the appropriate size from somewhere like Screwfix and tighten it up in the spacer.Youve then got something solid to knock out from the other side
-
Sometimes known as the bulls--t switch.Alters the ignition timing very slightly at high revs, the sunny mode is the most powerful but most people won't notice the difference.
-
Front or back on the Triumph?
-
When you reassemble it ensure that the carb to air box boot is fitted correctly at the carb .Its not unknown for it to be sucking air at the back where it's hard to see if it's fitted correctly
-
Sounds terrific,we don't get many events like that. How far do you have to go for your trials then?
-
Spray it with WD40 for a few days, then try heating it up.You can't make it worse
-
Well done.Id fit a lanyard kill switch too, saves a lot of damage in an off like you had.
-
It's probably less hours than that,a lot of time at a trial is spent looking at sections and waiting your turn, even though the event lasts 5 or 6 hours
-
Full lock both ways,if the cables snagged you won't hear the slide hit the bottom.Slide can be in the groove properly,it's a cable issue
-
3 mm is enough, you're only taking the spring pressure off the plates to allow them to separate and break drive to the wheel
-
When you've put the carb back together open and close the throttle, you should be able to hear the slide hit the bottom if it's all OK.Check it on both locks too
-
Depends a lot on how it's ridden and maintained. For your type of riding, with your maintenance, clean air filter and a top grade oil,way beyond the quoted hours.Conversely a top rider frequently holding on the stop before dropping the clutch in 3rd and throwing it at a big step a lot les than the quoted hours.Ridden hard like that they feel tired at a few months old
-
Definitely worth a try if it's no good as it is
-
Nice idea, don't think it would work round here as the skill level difference is so great now.Even club level experts can ,and want,to do the trick riding which will always be beyond the o/40 o/50 riders which are the majority of riders here,a lot of which have come to the sport fairly recently I think 2 routes would work, the top in each class wouldn't lose many, the ones at the bottom would lose more,as long as there wasn't an increase in injuries or bike damage it's worth a try. Some of our events have 8 classes which is ridiculous, where's the satisfaction in winning a class with 5 competitors in it.
It also takes longer to lay out so many routes which puts off some from helping out,and adds confusion where you're meant to be going
-
Also remains to be seen who will be in the financial position to afford it after this, whenever that might be.Cant see it being less than 2 months, but I'd love to be proved wrong
-
-
Has the idle gone up just because it's now run in and loosened off? What oil mixture and fuel are you using?
-
Wonder if these CDI use cheap components and have poor quality control and assembly,It's not always an age related problem.
-
It's definitely going to be over hard with that amount of oil in.Think the correct oil quantity will sort it
-
Have to absorb the landing with your legs.A really good rear shock helps too.Definetly want the arch of your feet on the pegs on landing
-
We have more freedom stil than France, whether they,or we,or either are doing it the best way I'm not qualified to say.Im obeying the guidelines and hoping for the best.We are facing something we can't see, hear, feel, smell or taste that can kill us that hopefully will be defeated sooner rather than later.Im missing riding, fishing, socialising ,living normally but that's where we are
-
Are you saying 100 mm of rear static sag or with you on it?Think the rear travel is around 180/200 mm so it's too soft. When I had an Evo I had to get a heavier spring, the standard one was way soft for my (heavy) 85 kg,don't know your weight.I found it balanced the bike out really well
