  1. Hi Woody yes your right Craigs ignition has a slot so you can advance or retard the static timing, the ignition from Trial and Trials has three holes and you can alter the timing this way. What I should have said was that one needs setting up with a timing light and the other can be just fitted and run staight away.

  2. I have owned and used the system Craig Mawlem sells, I have also fitted the ignition that Trail and Trials sell to one of my bikes. The only similarity is the back plate, and this is because they are both designed to fit the same bike. One has more components than the other, one has fixed timing and the other is adjustable. Somehow they dont appear to be the same do they. I also believe Collin at TYoffroad sells an ignition that is cheaper than the other two, does this make it the best. Sorry you are right, they all produce a spark when the flywheel goes round so they must be the same, therefore they should be the same price. You should ask people like Andy.T if they feel the have been ripped off after all the problems he had before he bought the ignitions. As far as Renthal bars and other such items are concerned, buy the cheapest or dont buy at all its that simple. I imagine this would force the others to reduce their prices dont you. Its not rocket science. Have you ever tried to buy off some of the cheaper guys on Ebay? They advertise items they dont carry in stock or only have one of each item. I saw some cheap cables the other week that turned out to be cheap Chinese copies of Venhill cables. Like I said you get what you pay for most of the time as quality usually costs more. ps I like your little ikons there very good, did you draw them yourself?

  3. Yes I agree that there can be price differences, its the same with milk and bread etc, so why should it be any different when it comes to products for the trials market. The answer is simple if you cant afford it dont buy it, and go find a sport you can, then you can moan about the different prices in that as well. P.s my last post was a bit of a baited trap, I knew it would be you who fell into it first. Oh and by the way I know others who post here who talk utter b*****ks so that means nothing.

  4. Aye Millers in their wisdom sent 4 and the wrong size as well as wrong brake shoes.. ;) Cheers for that...

Hi dont take this the wrong way but I ordered stuff from them for a Bultaco and it was all wrong, doesnt always pay to get the cheapest. Id rather pay more and get genuine parts off somebody who knows what they are doing.

  5. I have got a Godden Maj in bits at the moment. The frame on mine was chrome but a bit tatty I tried to get quotes for rechroming but it was figthening so I had it powder coated. Will post pics when finished

  6. Come on Pitley tell us how much he charges for the ingnition and does it work, do you know somebody who has one. The same guy offered me

  7. Thanks for your reply woody, Yes Im trying to improve the braking as Ive just picked up Fantic hub, brake plate and wheel spindle and also a pair of Marzzochi forks to go with them, Although the forks are not off the fantic and the wheel spindle needs a little work.

  8. Hi all I am thinking about having the front wheel rebuilt on my Majesty, and was wondering if I fitted a conical hub could I still use the Yamaha rim which origionally had a full width hub or would I have to buy a new rim. Thanks. (please dont reply if you are going to say that this is against the spirit of twinshock trials, as I have numerous pictures of Mick Andrews and Shirty etc on bikes with conical hubs and leading axle forks back in the day. You know who you are)

  9. Majestyman340 it seems to me that you are the pot thats calling the kettle black, as in the twinshock forum your banging on about altering the steering geometry of your majesty to make it steer more like a modern bike, but here your saying people shouldnt be allowed to alter thier twinshock. Call me old fashioned but Id call that double standards. Oh and bye the way the new Miller frame as you call it is a reproduction of the origional highboy frame for the TL125 which is a 30ish year old design, not some new trick frame, so I cant see anybody cleaning up on that can you . I know his because the frame was copied from Gez Canes origional which I have seen at first hand.

  10. Hi the forks are flush with the top of the yolks and the shocks are 14" long. I found this makes it steer better, as far as it being twitchy on the front I dont find it any different I though all 175s were like that. My friend solved this by fitting TY250 forks and yolks which makes a massive difference. I am 14 stone and I have rode this bike a few times in local club trials and have been quite impressed by its performance.

  11. Hi the bike on TYtrials web site is my sons TY175 not a 200. It was rebuilt by me about 18 months ago but has been used since thats why the head needs repainting, its for sale as you know, If I was going to keep it I would have probably repainted it. The 200 kit John supplies comes freshly painted. I have ridden a couple of TY 175s that have been converted using this 200 kit and I must say it makes quite a difference to the power of the bike. THe bike that was advertised earlier on the site for

  12. Why would you want to alter the steering angle on a Godden Majesty to a more modern setup. This would make the bike even shorter and thats the last thing you want especially with standard forks, as its twitch enough already. If you want a bike with modern steering geometry buy GasGas, beta, mont etc not a twinshock

  13. Dont know profit margins maybe. I believe he gets them from Snezzy Yamaha in Holland or Belgium, who get them from WES. But they are definatley the same make. He told me so himself.

  14. WES do a two piece system for the TY175 it is the one shown on John Wilkinsons bike in classic dirt bike magzine. The spacer he talks about is needed because the WES system was made to fit the origional TY front pipe not a Miller front pipe, which has a slightly smaller diameter. If you need to know more about the system John Cain at Trail & Trials UK sells them. Just type tytrials into a search engine and it will give you his web site.
