I thought he was trying to replace the bushings with bearings
-
I understand about saving money but dealers have to make a living, they would soon be out of business without support of riders, plus you get free support and advice when you really need it
-
I still want a 1981 Maico!
-
Hi ric, I know you, and you would probably remember me if you saw me. I think we met at oshweken last year
-
Yes, the exhaust bracket acts as the spacer
-
you are right that the two bullet connectors are for the mapping switch
-
Is that a costa special parts (CSP) gas cap? Looks very nice and not at all like my ossa one...me like!
-
would an m6 be a better fit? I wondered about the m5 size as the elbow breather itself must be at least that big in diameter
-
I think the spline may be the torx head of the shaft trailtrail was referring to so I dont think that wants to be tapped.
Looking at the 2014 parts diagram the bolt looks to be very short so I would guess that it only goes into the casing, probably the 2014 bikes have this hole tapped with the gearbox out to make it easier.
I cannot get to mine until Saturday, keep me informed as to how you get on.

My part arrived today from Germany to canada! first class service from trials parts! very impressed with the turnaround of the order. The part itself looks like it will do the job perfectly and allow the use of more oil
-
use of Google reveals all at: http://www.trialsuk.co.uk/categories/jotagas
-
What are you going to block the original with?have yet to measure the hole but I am probably going to tap mine and use a small bolt and washer like on the 2014 spec bikes
-
I believe the ossa canada importer has them but a little out of the way for you, I have a set and they look and work well but are expensive! I would have used carbon wrap if they had not come with my bike.
How do you like it so far?
-
I figure ossa did it for a reason, more oil makes sense and this breather oil filler plug seems like a perfect solution without having to mod the case. I will report more when the part arrives. JSP has also ordered one and I am sure will also provide feedback
-
The only difference as far as I can tell is the placement of the breather, on theearlier bikes it is low by the sprocket, on the 2014 model thy moved it higher behind the kickstart which allows 450 ml of oil to be use for better lubrication. You cn certainly drill a new hole in the case on the earlier models but the oil filler vent part will do the same job, you just have to blank off the old hole with a small bolt as indicated in the 2014 parts diagram
-
Order placed! excellent service from Emanuel, quick responses, very helpful!
-
Ha! great minds think alike, I also e-mailed them and am going to order one.
-
Yes, I have seen one on a bike, it is a replacement oil filler plug but is at the same height as the new breather on the 2014 models so you can use 450 ml of oil without having to drill the new hole, you just blank off the hole by te sprocket
This company does not ship to Canada which is why I am asking!

I thinki have read on here somewhere about issues with the rubber between the bash plate and cases getting pushed up and moving the case causing the oil leak you are experiencing, the solution I believe is to trim the rubber to releive the pressure. Do a search often forums for a complete explanation

Anyone know where I can find one of these clutch case breathers from in the uk or North America? http://trialparts-shop.de/produkt/ossa-motorentlueftung/
-
Absolutely brilliant! Next best thing to being there for us expats
-
It can but is not recommended as you are supposed to reset the tps at te same time apparently
The btwice unit lets you set the tps once and then adjust the idle anytime you want.
-
I guess that is relatively comparable to the price of the replacement plastic throttle body then so not too bad
-
Anyone tried one or have any information on how good or not they are? and also how much they are? I like the idea of having idle adjustgment without the need for leads or the software, or having to take it to the dealer, but of course it will all depend on the cost!
-
Thanks trailtrail, I was hoping you would know! I will be doing an oil change next weekend in readiness so will check it at that time, I am also going to look at the moving the breather option to see how feasible and difficult it would be. The ability to use more oil wold seem to me to be a good reason to check this further.
