having looked at the pics some more I would inspect a little more closely as I believe all the factory bikes had green frames and this one is black and does not look like it was originally green and then painted unless it was stripped and re-coated. The serial number should be by the headstock and should indicate it if is indeed a 2013 factory R (like this) or not, or possibly a 2012 model.

zonetrial.com, lewisportUSA, http://nonstopmotoren.com/parts/ossa-tr-parts.php you just have to search a little, even Joa may still have parts!......that is one hell of a colour scheme though! test ride it an ask as many questions as you need to, ultimately buying a used bike is always a gamble as you really have little idea what is going on internally
-
I ride a300 factory and it is simply a fantastic bike. Yes they don’t make them anymore but I have not had any issue with parts, granted some parts will be harder to find but they share a ton of parts with gas gas so I am not worried
-
It is because the chain is rubbing on the tensioner block.....hence the rubbing noise!

Did you make a homemade puller? If so let’s see it, I like to marvel at ingenuity
-
Is your oil low? Were all the bolts on the mag side crank plate tight? I have seen the gasket fail, you cannot tell until you remove the plate, seeing as you have to go in from that side anyway I would remove the plate and check before pulling the crank. With the plate removed you may also be able to See if there is any excess oil in the crank case
-
Take the flywheel off and look for residue or loose or sheared bolts on the plate that holds and seals the crankshaft, gasket can go and lots of smoke is a sign of this. I would check this side first

Gas gas ones from same year are direct fit

Does Xavi have any custom factory 300 maps lying around that are not part of the package generally available?
-
Software and cables freely available so remapping and adjusting are not an issue
-
Buy the ossa if it is a good price and in good nick. I have had 2 and they are brilli@nt bikes to ride so I dont know what Faussy is talking about.
-
did this issue get resolved?
-
Mmm.........helpful......

Made my own from central vac pipe, bottom ones are especially good as the simply snap over the bottom of the fork

Right hand side as you sit on 5he bike, towards the front of the engine case. It will always get hot with coolant being pumped through it but in my case it was too hot to hold your hand on for a moment. All that being said your fan should still kick in
-
For coolant testing just use regular car stuff, cheapest you can find. I doubt fuel mix will have anything to do with it. Is the pump actually circulating coolant? With the engin3 running and the rad cap off can you see coolant movement? Hav3 you checked the pump impeller to make sure it is not worn or sheared? I had a pump that had a worn impeller (rubbed on the outer casing and wore down) that caused similar boil over issues. Went through a whole load of head off, replace o rings etc before figuring it out. In the end I had the bike running and noticed th3 outer casing was too hot to touch due to rubbing, this is what led me to the impeller issue.

An excellent and informative video.
-
True of the early ones but I would not suspect for a 2013 model although you never know
-
Take a look at your coolant, if you are getting blow by from the cylinder into the cooling jacket you should see oily residue or carbon in your coolant
-
What does your coolant look like?
-
$800 is the cost for parts to make your own
-
How much is it actually up for at the moment ( not the Msrp), $1500 off the msrp for a 2 year old bike is not a good deal. I would not go in any more than $7000, and would likely start lower than that and see what I can get away with, it’s all about haggling!
-
Hit the dealer up for a bigger discount. I would be putting all these points to him, it is only depreciating more the longer it sits in his showroom. The worst he can say is no, and that is the time to walk away.
