  1. Thanks ric, this actually looks like quite a simple mod for pre-2014 bikes to allow 450ml of oil to be use and involves moving the breather elbow from where it is by the sprocket on the earlier bikes to the 2014 location which is now behind the kickstart spindle. New layout is in the 2014 parts diagram at this link http://download1411.mediafire.com/utebf761ah2g/p271wz7luh8j5ur/2014+TR+Parts+Book.pdf Looks like ossa have just blanked off the existing hole by the sprocket with an m5 screw and washer, makes the breather less vulnerable and by raising it to the kick shaft level allows the use of 450 ml of oil. If anyone has done this mod please provide comment. This will or should eliminate the oil leaking issue as well. Picture of the blanked off breather is here on lotus54s explorer http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm256/lotus54/OSSA/a5731a4252a455fc04e4430a9c698799_zps64274501.jpg New location of the breather appears to be where the kickstart shaft is located which can be seen in the bottom left picture on page 1 of the document at this link, looks like an m5 size hole would need to be drilled for the breather elbow to be located in.
  2. I replaced mine with clear tubing so I could see what was going on, a small amount of oil bubbles into the pipe but so far has not pumped out. The clutch fixer rod that trialtrial refs to is a new part and was not listed on the 2011 parts diagram so I am not sure when it was introduced (2012 or 2013) which is why I am curious about its purpose as it is positioned directly behind the vent elbow so i guess if some oil is getting stuck behind the fixer rod when the case pressurizes it would be forced out... Of course I don't know for sure but hopefully trailtrail can shed some light as he has recently had his gearbox out
  3. Trialtrial, how tight should the fixer shaft and nut be? Does it seal tight to the shaft? As you recently had your box out perhaps you can share what you found
  4. I am still interested in the locker shaft and the clutch fixer nut if trial trial has any more info, but another thought for JSP, make sure the end of the hose is higher than where it attaches to the engine breather to avoid a siphoning action. Mine has leaked a little at times as well, importer spoke with the factory who did not indicate a problem or concern. I was told to refill with 400 ml of oil, up over the old 350 limit but less than the 2014 model 450 ml limit which is only possible because they have move the crank breather location to make it higher on the case
  5. I am intrigued by this now, the ossa parts manual indicates that the part is the primary shaft locker shaft ( item 35), so would this be what came loose? It does not show a nut that it screws into though I have now found te clutch fixer nut (part 11)
  6. What does inserting a torx do? Does it tighten the fixer nut? Or do you tighten this nut from the clutch Side with the case off?
  7. I don't know for sure but they look like push and twist, kinda like a childproof twist top on top of a pill bottle
  8. Just buy one of these unbreakable kits - http://www.motomerlin.org.uk/beta-evo-rear-mudguard-kit-jitsie-bosi-5105-p.asp
  9. take off peripheral bits such as carb/exhaust etc. undo engine mounting bolts, lift out......unless it is a more difficult process, although generally removing engine mounting bolts and wiggling should do the trick
  10. I always thought that the headstock/tank etc. were cast aluminum, although there is a magnesium option available but it is special order and not standard. Not sure about the glue but seem to recall reading somewhere that someone speculated that it was an aerospace type glue
  11. I don,t think so, if it helps I drifted mine from the right side to the left as you sit on the bike and reinserted the same way, from right to left, only because I found it easier to get to tat way
  12. Yes, it is a tight fit, I had to drift mine like JSP says with quite a bit of force to get it moving but once goig just slid out.
  13. Ric what part are you struggling with? I just stripped and regreased them on Saturday morning, spring washers were te only tough part, mainly because my pliers are crap other than that seemed pretty straight forward

    Removing Ecu

I would certainly try the 300i before makinig any changes, the only thing I did was put a slow action throttle on mine, I don't find it any more of a handful that my old 2011, sure it has more power but you soone get used to it
  15. Now I'm Just confused, can you explain what you are getting at so I can decide if this is worth a response or not please?
  16. The non runner is relisted and is only up to 895 so you still have a chance to bid
  17. Nice as music is a lot of people on here will tell you that they really like the sound of an engine being revved to the sky!
  18. Ossa should make the leads and software available for people to purchase. I can understand their reluctance while bikes are still under warranty but once the 2 years are up they should sell you a set as then any broken parts are on the owner and not ossa. I like to think I am familiar with the software having seen it done multiple times, and also having the software manual that explains everything in detail and would love to fiddle....

    Raw Gear

That new mots gear also looks good
  20. Fortunately for ossa owners you can rest easy knowing that if you have a catastrophic failure in the first 2 years the parts will be covered under warranty, which is a full 2 years for the ossa, and has no doubt proved to be a saviour for a number of owners, especially those that had the gearbox failure from the early models. On another note, if I was in the uk I would be all over the "non runner" as I don't believe it can be much wrong without at all. No doubt it will be a bargain for someone.
  21. Any update fron Phil, the original poster? I would like to know how or if this was resolved
  22. Post a pic of the wrapped frame I would like to see how it turned out
  23. That looks like the adjuster for lever reach in the picture so looks normal to me. If it is the plunger screw you are talking about I think they are m5 size so may just need the threads retapping Also, in the picture the end of the lever looks snapped, if it is do yourself a favour and buy a new one before that one ends up stuck in your leg or somewhere else equally as painful
  24. I said nothing about devaluing a manufacturer, I said you devalued a product which you did by stating a "resale" value before the auction had ended
