  2. So you have been exposed to the camraderie that is this website and community, welcome aboard, enjoy the ride!
  3. Thanks Andy!!!!!!!.......you have just embarrassed us all and we were only trying to help and provide reassurance
  4. I'm 47 and got back into it 2 years ago after a 25 year hiatus, never too old, and it gets me out of the house and gets me some exercise
  5. I believe lewisport in CA has them, give Adrian a call, there are also some pics if it in a bike somewhere on this site that were posted recently, try a search
  6. Depending on how and where it is broken you can now buy an unbreakable back part of the guard to be spliced in, needs some cutting etc but in the long run it looks like a good idea

    Sherco 290 2008

Yes, the switch will change te mapping, not sure which way it goes on a sherco so switch between the settings to see which is slow and which is go!
  8. If the Allen bolt is what is holding the silencer on now then just pop a rivet in the hole to blank it off
  9. The rubber bung also gets used to cover the bleed nipple when installed
  10. At least a partial refund to offset the repairs needed would be the least I would expect. I would guess you paid at least a grand if it was up for $1200 so a couple hundred back would be the right thing to do
  11. Yikes!...I don't know what else to say!
  12. It's not me, they asked but I had a conflict in my schedule, they were disappointed but understood and went to their second choices!
  13. There is a service manual which is different than the owners manual you get with a new bike, it is much more detailed in every aspect
  14. Maybe it is being blocked in canada........government conspiracy....
  15. (Sigh).....I used to love pot noodle as a kid in the UK, just not the same over here
  16. Damn!!!!........those are some big thorns!....joking aside, I would hope tat they are " viscous" so that they slide out as easy as they go in, especially if in your flesh!
  17. What is a viscous thorn? Are they really slippery........
  18. excellent references Finbar, and well worked in to the conversation.........
  19. I won't be surprised if it does cost a bundle, but hope not, there are still plenty of people out there who could use something that starts it easier and by all accounts this seems like it will be the solution
  20. The handlebar switch works pretty good especially if you use a High power 9v battery such as an energizer lithium. Ossa has a new capacitor on te 2014 model tat apparently fixes the issue once and for all. I have been in touch with John and the new part should be available I the new year, although price is unknown, I would hope that ossa do not look to profit on this part and sell it to existing owners at cost. The part will retrofit apparently bit no other details are available. I am also in touch with a dealer in the uk to see if I can get this part earlier if possible.
  21. Try someone like Lewisport, I seem to recall they sell TRP shocks that may be suitable, or may be able to offer a solution
  22. Ossa are the same, the quadrant start gear is what makes them difficult as you only have a small number of teeth that turn the crank for a short period so it needs a healthy stab to get things rotating
  23. Hi JSP, can you show a pic of where you put the grease fitting on the head of your OSSA, I have toyed with the idea but always wondered where the best placement would be
