JSP, you're a Yorkshireman......no one wants to buy a kidney that has had that much beer flushed through it!
-
I would.........If only I could come with a legit way to spend the education fund on a new 300 factory R without the wife being suspicious.........
-
Map11 is definitely not the last map available for the old ecu, borus will confirm but I think there is at least a map15
-
I got the info direct fom the Canadian importer, it is for all models, not just the 2013, details at this link:
http://www.ossacanada.ca/Ossa%20General%20Quick%20Tips%20Guide%20R5.pdf
-
Only one I have seen is in the special parts book, there is a graph comparison for the racing head versus the standard one, not sure if that is of use to you
-
I currently run at140:1 as per the recommendation of ossa, that is 0.7ml of oil per litre of gas
-
-
I suggested the underside as the top side is where the welded bracket is located, my concern would be that it would potentially weaken the exhaust and bracket area if a big piece was cut out.
-
that is exactly where I meant as it appears to be the most accessible and flattest part of the exhaust.
You are braver than me, although it sounds like you were looking to buy a new one anyway so really you have nothing to lose if it doesn't work out.
Good luck!
-
Yes, I would suspect the first type of "loose" packing to be the best sort to use.
Take pictures!
I do not believe this has been done before so any documentation you can upload will be useful for the future.
where you cut, what the inside looks like, what you removed, what you put back in, how you patched the hole etc. etc.
-
It will be an access hole cut and patch job on the ossa, looking at the silencer I would imagine the easiest way in is through the most flat part which faces the rear tire. I don't know how the internals are laid out though so not sure how the clean out and repackage will go

Excellent!.......handbags at twenty paces.......
-
That's the spirit......take two hammers to the bast@rd and show it whose boss!!!
-
Yea!......thats the spirit, my workdays would be unbearable if this thread ended!
Now come on man!......get that f$%ker started!!!!!
-
what does "relible" mean........?
I used to watch scrambling at Hatherton track in the early 70's with my dad......the good old days!
-
c'mon, c'mon......I am sat here at work waiting for the beast to come to life.......
-
the suspense is killing me...........?
-
If you have to rev so much to get up anything is it more likely to be the bike or your technique?
Are you spinning the wheel too much?
Is there too much air in your rear?
Are you quite light, unable to get your weight over the rear to keep the wheel from revving out?
A 250 will be exactly the same if the technique is not there?
I can get mt daughters ty80 to pull me up hills and I weigh 13stone.
A lot of the engine issues you seem to be having sound self inflicted like th kickstart issue.
-
On my ossa on the kickstart side my kickstart hits the footpeg hangar when starting, with the trickbits frame protector how does the plastic hold up to the kickstart hitting it repeatedly?
-
Those carbon frame guards are very nice but man, I hate to think what they would cost for a pair!
-
I have to agree with b40rt, I cannot get past the mental image......
-
Woosters in Leeds sell them. You can also do a search on ebay for TY80 Tyres, there are options
-
As above, has anyone tried to fit the new style flexi rear fender on the old style seat base? If so, is it a direct bolt on or was there a modification required?
-
Yes it is very orange. Her choice, we went to the store and I told her to pick something "not pink" and this is what she came back with. I am thankful for small mercies!
-
My daughter wanted to show her twin-shocker....so here is the freshly painted TY80 dad just finished rebuilding for her first foray into trials this year. Bike is one that I put together from two different bikes, one a mint rolling chassis that came with a GT80 engine in pieces. Engine was the best part of a second bike I bought. Sold the GT80 engine in the rough chassis so ended up with this one for a little over $300.
