  1. WOW thing have livend up around here See you later RINGO!!!
  2. I'd say it would last as long as a BETA Barry and at the moment your BETA is just as quiet....... Get well soon mate and for the record two of our West Aus riders have lost digets, both in the rear sprockets and both still ride.
  3. Scorpa not running!!! I find that hard to believe......... Wait a minute thats a Rotax engine not a Yamaha "there's your problem" Sounds like your float heights are wrong, I don't have the correct heights but i'm sure somebody on the forum will be able to help!! Good luck mate.
  4. Style does come into the equation but I would say skill level is the biggest factor, if you have a 2m undercut rock step and zero run up you need some pretty instantanious zap to overcome it. If you are a mere mortal doing figure of eights on a sandy hill side having a zappy motor will get you in the poo pretty quickly. Most riders of limited ability would do well to go for a 200cc motor or below my preference being the 175 scorpa then once happy with throttle control/balance/body language and basic hopping move up to a big boys bike. A lot of riders seem to stagnate on thier modern 250/270's because for their grade the bike does most of the work for them. Riders should have a go at downsizing or riding a twinshock for a few trials and if they still finish high up in their respective grade then its time to decide if you want to go up a grade or rest on your larels and stay where you are......

    Scorpa Sy 160?

Don't run your bike with a dry air filter mate thats asking for trouble, maybe you have put too much oil on it!!! check for airleaks around your carby, make sure all the jubilee clips are done up. All I have done is follow the Birketts mods and she runs great all the time infact shes the smallest bike in my grade and still gives the big boys a run for their $$$$$$$$

    Scorpa 125f

Slow action throttle (black one) helps smooth out on those tight corners, and helps with grip.... Selastic the flat area prior to the airinlet in a (sargents stripe patten>>>) this helps drain any water away from the inlet..... If you have the KTM type clutch master cylinder check out the after market prices for the levers. ($A13 Vs $A70 in australia)

    Scorpa Sy 160?

My only bugbear with my 06 175 is the rear mudgaurd it is just too stiff and eats cable ties with the slightest knock. My cure was too cut a 2inch strip of 400*18 rear tube and slip it over the mudgaurd so its sits just infront of the rear silencer. I have had some pretty bigs offs and touch wood have not broke a gaurd yet, the gaurd just springs back into place.
  9. If you want a few pointers on choosing a name, let your fingers do the walking, knuckle down, and nail an original one, if Andy is happy thumbs up...... You can't use Fingers Baines though ....... (he now rides a BETA but used to have a PINKY) sorry I couldn't resist!
  10. Not McDonalds....... Chez Golden Arches I'll have you know!!!! Infact on our honeymoon on the Isle of Jersey 20 odd years ago, I told her that we were dining at Chez Golden Arches and she did get dressed up!!!! Be afraid, be very afraid PA she will be observing you at the Natioinals next week........
  11. Get home from trial, unpack trailor, bike in shed, wife asks where ive been, bed to sleep. Wake up, constitutionals, make wife breakfast in bed, off to work. Work "Monday morning seems to drag etc:" Home, get changed, down shed, back to house forgotten key to shed, wife says not spending enough time with her etc: etc: consol wife!!! Back down shed, pump up tyres, start bike (Scorpa175 starts first time!!) ride back to house. Hose wash bike, spray degreaser, wait 5mins, ask wife how long till dinner, she replys dinner in dog!!! Pressure wash bike, ride back to shed, oil chain (chain saw oil), leave running on milk crate, check nuts bolts etc: Switch off bike, back to house, wife locked herself in bedroon watching telly!!!!!!! Drive car to local corner shop, buy over priced anniversary card & flowers, drive home, book resturant on mobile, Get resturant to ring wife telling her the booking made last week is available earlyer if required. Wife leaves bedroom sees card on table, appoligises for shouting and repeats resturant message, act suprised. Put on best jeans, Tshirt off to resturant . Note to self: "Wifes birthday next Monday!!!"
  12. Here in West Aus we went the other way and had our punch cards made out of a thinner plastic, it didn't matter what type of punch we bourght the punchers poor pinkys were getting sore......... Each puncher normally has a permanant marker on them for emergencys!!!!!!!

    Nice!

Thanks for that Heath, wifes in the UK at the moment I wonder if she would notice the new muffler when she got back?????? Just got back from a trial, a couple of the riders from the grades lower than me had a go on the 175 and reakoned it was too gutless for them!!!!!!!!!!!! Why people want to spend $A 12000 on a 4rt just to ride around a car park beats me, oh well i'll have to go back to whooping 270's on my gutless 143cc

Well why his here he might as well ride in the Aus titles in Perth....... The CCM is not for sale as yet just getting a feel for its value!!
  16. Hey Warby Beta I to think the 175 is a geat bike certainly for 80% of riders. All the 250/270's are fantastic bikes but do you need all that power? 'Ummmmmmm Warby Scorpa" got a certain ring to it!!!!
  17. We have a few 4rt's in west aus and they are fine bikes, and in the right hands right up there with the 2strokes. What I have noticed though they do flatter the lesser clubman riders who are quite content to move up in the rankings putting it down to their new found skills!!!!!! Next step is to ride the next grade which in some instances can be quite a shock when having got into trouble they proceed to wind on the gas and whammmooooo!!!!! one scratched pride and joy......... Of course this scenario is not restricted to the 4rt any of the new machines will flatter a clubbies ability, perhaps a season riding a scorpa175 or any of the 125's would be a better and cheaper option, gain some much needed skills then buy the 4rt.

    Nice!

My bashplate can catch me out occasionally, saying that the average Joe who the bike is aimed at won't spend a lot of time balanced precariosly on a 2m dropoff..... Since riding my 175 (around 3 months) I have found that my riding has improved, I put a lot more thourght into riding sections instead of letting the power do it all for me, and on 90% of the sections I find the bike performs aswell if not better than a lot of 250+ bikes in my grade. Slippery muddy areas are definatly where the bike excells and with a smoother managable power than the big boys it won't be inclined to spin. I think the average Joe would do well to spend a few seasons on the 125/175, learn throttle control etc: before deciding to progress to a bigger mount. A lot of riders skill level will not progress with a modern 250+ flattering their very limited ability....

A good friend of mine is unfortunatly nearing the end of lifes trial!! and is approaching the End Pegs!!..... His wife has had enquires as to her intentions with his trusty CCM. What she needs is an assesment of the rough value of the bike, the machine is in good condition . Thanks for your time.......

    Nice!

Pretty isn't she!!! and a flipping great bike to ride..... And i've only just bourght a blue one
  22. I know what your saying HAM2 I put neopreme fork gaiters on my SY and the extra weight just threw me over the handlebars on drop offs Adding an extra tooth to the gearbox sprocket means you can extend your chain life by an extra 6 months!!!!!
  23. A couple of weeks practice, a slow action throttle, and a bedded in engine and I can happily report that i'm riding better than on my old SY. I probably still use the clutch a little more than I should but only when i'm really near stalling speeds. I find that i'm more focussed whilst riding where on the 250 it was a case of point and shoot and 9 times out of 10 it would be OK!!!! Best mod to the bike would have to be the slow action throttle, biggest gripe is the rear mudguard, way too stiff. I found at the last trial most of the bigger bikes were having problems with a short steep muddy bank with a tight turning before hand, the 175 had no problems what so ever.......... Overal happy with the move....
  24. The most common headline advertising any thing trials related has been "Trials & Tribulations!!!" i've seen that one more than once.......
