Yes a worthy cause HAM but over here in Aus I worry that the piston would just got to wast with that strategy. With exception to the twin-shock riders only a small percentage of modern trials bike riders work on their engines to this level. eBay Aus has next to no (modern) second hand trials parts trading. Which it a good indication of the kind of market here.
Anything that's artistic or practical or funny is what I'm after

No I think negatives are good things when used as an opportunity to find a work-around. I could be wrong but I thought that ball bearing cage was over rated (rather than under rated) for the job?
Awesome thanks for that Dave..... but thinking about it...Summer or Winter that pump still has the same load on it so that's a good indication the bearings are holding up OK.

Hi All,
You'll need Google Translate for this one but has anyone fitted one these Cooling Kits ?
Do they work?... Any resellers in the UK?

Hi All,
I've got my recently removed old piston sitting on my garage shelf. I keep looking at it and wondering how I can put it to some use because it's served me well while it was in there. So I'm wondering if I can polish it up or paint it or something. And make it into something practical or something I can put on display. I've seen pistons made into ashtrays but as a non-smoker I'm not so keen on that idea.
Any idea's, fun or not, are most welcome.

There are apps that allow you to transfer files into allocated folders but a JailBroken iPhone/iPod/iPad does not suffer from these daft limitations

Hey Tim,
My boy had an Optus dongle plugged into his old Ubuntu HP notebook ... says it worked OK.
Oddly enough he just got Ubuntu and Kbuntu in the post today.... So he was happy....until he realised he had no machine to run it on

Hey Tim,
Let us know how that goes. My boys was into Ubuntu (until he blew up his notebook ) but if you get Wine and iTunes running that would be the business
Any chance of checking out MS Office 2010 too?

You could put the front wheel up on the work bench (Workmate vice is best)...assuming it would leak out of the fuel cap like that... But I really think the extra in-line tap is your best option.

Up and running.
All she's done is idled so far, for 5 mins, but I can tell she's changed.
She started first kick, without choke and only needed a small amount of choke for about 10 seconds before she'd idle (in the low hundreds RPM) on her own. She's idling perfectly. Only changing in note when the fan clicks in. The exhaust gasses smell differenced too ... much cleaner and no big pops so far. I'll use the throttle two or three times (letting her cool each time) tomorrow then let her carry over some flat grass later in the day.
Do I sound like I'm in love? .... Well I can't wait to give her a good thrashing later this week!!!
Thanks for your help guys

Hi Gents,
Just pulled the head off my 06 250 and was just about to fit the new Piston (I got from Chris) but noticed there is a cut-out missing on the side skirt compared to the old one... See the old piston on the right here (ignore the gudgeon pin holding them in the same direction for the photo)...
The cut-out in the skirt lines up with the front transfer port (carb side) but I'm also concerned it's for con-rod clearance?... If not, why would Sherco cut the skirt out like that?
Also the old piston is marked 05-11 / 10583 and the new one is marked 09-12 / 18744 .... both are "A" 72.75 ..if that makes any sense to anyone?
I'm trying to get this bike back together today but I know it's very early hours for Chris...hence me putting this question up here.

Hmmm... you don't sound too impress with the 2011 ... that's a shame.
But I have to tell you whats VERY impressive to me is the fact that you ride with your wife. I would pay BIG $ if someone could talk my wife into riding. So if you and your wife are ever passing this way .....
Best of balance and thanks again for your help.

Remembering back I can confirm you are dead right there. A few years back I had a wheel built by a wheel builder. Good guy but when I supplied the rim I gave him a small tub of anti-seize/marine grease mix and asked if he could grease every spoke thread. He rolled his eyes at me but said "Yes".
When I got the wheel back there were no signs of grease anywhere. First and last time I had a wheel built ... better to do it yourself I reckon... His loss my gain.

Awesome chewy,
That'll do nicely
A question on the side though. This other pic you have on Piccsa...

Is that rust I see on that lovely white frame??

No, no rush chewy,
I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to buy a new rim (with new spokes) or just use the old (with new spokes). So what with shipping and all I can see this rolling on for a week or too
Leaves me without a riding partner as he refuses to ride unless he has a bike of his own ... that's kids for you I suppose

Hi All,
I have to rebuild the front wheel (new spokes and nipples). Sherco used to do two lengths of spokes "Left 259mm" and "Right 256mm" but now they get away with supplying just the 259mm for Left and Right.
Chris has has given me a process for measuring the hub offset but does anyone know what that offset measurement should be (in mm)?
Hmmm...I'm wondering now if I should just lace up the rim then fit it in the forks and just line the rim up to the bike (folks)?
