  1. Yes but did it "sort" (bugger) the crankcase seal at the same time?.... how long were you heating it for? I'm not keen on that method and I've never had to use it on that Pinion Gear either. Best of balance. Neo
  2. Remove and clean the plates in petrol. Refill the box with a 10w30 Synthetic Oil. Ride your bike for a hours and this won't happen again. Best of balance. Neo
  3. I spent 2 years finding a hunting problem on my 250 Sherco so I might know a thing or two Unless it's on the inlet manifold I doubt that you have an airleak. Five questions... Has it every been Ok?... if so when? Does it get worse when it's hot? Have you changed your fuel, fuel mix or altitude more recently? What Fuel Octane and 2T Oil are you running? What Carb are you running? All the best. Neo
  4. Yes I know ...... Maybe next year
  5. Has anyone seen a spec on this yet .... minus the "Bold new graphics" All the best. Neo

    2013

Because that's bloody progress and that's what I (and many other people) part with their money for.....Otherwise we may as well all be still riding TY250's!!! If a manufacture can't progress (past a paint job and "cool graphics") then they may as well take a hike as far as I'm concerned. And IMO...Bearish economy's bloody stay that way though lack of bullish activities ..... But I don't really give a jacks ass about the economy when it comes to my bikes ..... So Go the inventors and innovators!!!!

    2013

Yes, yes it's good .... and I've no doubt it will help someone mid section some day Sorry Cope but I'm getting bored of this manufactures lack of innovation ..... too busy working on other types of bikes to be bothered with Trials.

    2013

Just seen the latest brochures..... Those Gassa guys have been working so hard....Like that must be the latest super light weight paint and decals, hydrogen filled wheels and a super duper vapour inducted fuel system .... like wow man WOW!!! It's totally "state of the fart" I think.
  9. Not worth risking it as you will eventually bend the very expensive rim. Quick solution is to go and have an inner tube put in it then sort it out properly when you need a new tyre. The rim band is a challenge but it can be done and it's not so hard once you've learnt what to do ..... read some past posts on TC when you're getting ready for that. My old 06 rear (tubeless) rim just held 5 PSI for over 4 months!! ..... and if I can do it so can you All the best. Neo
  10. All valid and interesting information gents. I guess I can only hope and dream of my Sherco DFI some time before they put me 10ft under Back on track any other Sherco 2013 news and gossip?? All the best. Neo
  11. From what I understand it's spray/jet lubed from the crankcase. I don't think OSSA needs to because it's basic FI/pre-mixed (with 2T oil) down into the crankcase as usual. All the best. Neo
  12. Now that is interesting information Nigel .... Do you know why exactly?
  13. Funny but I don't see FI as a radical alteration ... just better and more consistent tuning. My guess is DFI for Sherco ... there are manufactures that do 2T DFI compact systems now and Sherco did redesign that engine case for no (currently) apparent reason. DFI would require lubrication to the big end bearing .... has anyone split one of those new cases yet and seen anything interesting in the crankcase? Have you checkout the battery life/riding time on the Gas Gas electric bike .... it's a joke!... now that'll need some radical alterations before I'll part with my money. All the best. Neo
  14. Well for the same reason we don't have dinosaurs anymore .... Without rapid adaptation they'll eventually go extinct .... And I don't want to be left holding the caucus All the best. Neo
  15. Some good information there Cope. But I think the real reason Gassers and Betas aren't going FI is because they don't have the development budget for it. And I think Beta would be wasting their time throwing money at that old dog of a 2T of theirs..... Can't wait for the replies (from Evo owners) on that last statement The Beta 4T is a great engine .... but not that popular now for some strange reason?
  16. Sorry sirhc but your guess is incorrect I've spent many, many hours working with Kiehin and OKO carbs but the results (tuning consistency) have never been as good as I'd liked. If I had to choose between an OSSA or Sherco today I would go with the Sherco. But my issue is that I already have a good Sherco and I want to see more from Sherco to make me part with my money. Sherco may have had a "new frame in '10", but they did not get a "new motor in '11" (just a new engine case) but all of these things are in the past now and Sherco will have to keep up with the future if the want to maintain their market share. Sherco have in the past described themselves as "a force to be reckoned with" ..... And this year they need to use that force aggressively..... "Bold new graphics" just won't swing it. All the best. Neo
  17. Hey Cope what car do you know of that actually still has a Carb??? I guess it will be more affordable when there no carbs on Trials bikes lol!
  18. I love it and completely agree .... but FI is coming to all bikes....there's no stopping it now.
  19. Hi Wayne, I see TC Quoting is back (for me anyway) but having to sign-in each time sucks!!! .... Hopefully all will come good soon. Thanks for the explanations. Depreciation is similar here but some folk list their 2011 Ossa's on eBay for more money than they paid for it ... then they wonder why no one bids!! No I'm still not happy with the Clutch and Frame size on the Ossa. But I'm not in a position to buy a new bike yet so I'll reassess that (against the Sherco) when the time comes. I see 2013 as a significant one for Sherco. They must do something substantial this year or risk loosing their market share to Ossa. Direct Fuel injection would swing it for them, but are they up to it this year???.... that's the question. All the best Neo
  20. Hi Ham, "Over there" ... are you referring to the USA or Oz? "problem with depreciation" .... you've lost me (which isn't hard lol! ).... could you please elaborate? All the best Neo
  21. Well I guess it would be very easy to drop what Sherco has never had lol!! All the best. Neo
  22. Hi All, If you know ANYTHING about the new 2013 Sherco please share it with us here? If you have an idea of what Sherco will do for the 2013 bikes please share that with us here too. Please don't hold back. Just let it all come out ;-} All the best. Neo
  23. I like it ... nice one Cope
  24. Honestly with Fully Synthetic Oil you must run grater than 80:1....all the other ratios are for crappy non or semi synthetics oils. Cope and Zippy know their stuff and I've personally run 80:1 for over 5 years now and for 4 of those years I practically rode every day. I've seen the effects of too much oil in the exhaust port, header pipe and muffler. It an't a pretty site, it makes the bike run like crap and it's a hell of a job to clean up too. All the best.
