Isn't it funny how this thread went dead quiet after someone mentioned Ossa??

I second that.
I reckon the average person could lose more body weight than one could possibly loose off of a bike.
The only other suggestion I can think of is a 2010 bash plate.....but it won't be worth the investment

The more I look the more I notice.
There is the "no need for an in-line thermostat" short rad hose. And that Ignition coil I spoke of. But to my amazement there seems to be a sensor fitted to the rubber inlet manifold. Is this something to do with the Dual Map Leonelli progressive electronic ignition Sherco speak of?
Sherco must have been developing this bike since the news broke about Xispa.

Looking closely at all the photos it looks like there were two 2T at the show?
One of the 2T's had a conventional Leonni ignition system but the other had a separate coil (from the CDI box) just like a Beta.
Also. I've got a feeling that the seat height is higher and that rear shock looks very similar to a GasGas shock to me....And those shocks are a bit longer than the older Sherco shocks.
Thinking about that 5 liter fuel tank. It makes me wonder what effects it will have on balance and geometry when the front wheel comes up high and a few liters of fuel suddenly shift it's weight back over (or past) the rear axle.
Or are there some baffles in there slowing the movement down?
Anyone know what this bike weighs in at yet?
All in all it's amazing how many changes Sherco have made this year. And if the prices are similar to last year this bikes gotta be a winner.

Do you mean "the keihin made a huge improvement over the Dellorto"?
I've never understood how a "ti pipe" could make any difference to the way a Trials bike runs....can someone please enlighten me here?

One way or the other it's going to be awkward to fill, so a flexi funnel might be required.
I know there's a trick you can do on a Gassa with a clear tube, run up alongside of the frame and connected to the fuel tap, which makes a good fuel level indicator....maybe the same trick would work on the Sherco somehow?

It's a shame we are in different countries because I have an 06 Tank sitting in an 07 frame and I we could have swapped tanks.
But I wouldn't be attempting to remolding that tank if I were you.

Interesting how the 2T still has a Delorto yet the 4T has a Keihin.....makes me wonder why???

I was just think the same thing today.....It doesn't look like Sherco could fit the old 4T engine in that frame to me??

Hi Cope,
Would you kindly expand on this statement?....I think I know what your saying but I just want to confirm that.

Thanks for pointing that out Tony....sounds like the pump is actually on/in the tank?
Can anyone confirm the seat height?.....it looks higher than before

....my error and apologies.Hi Cope....confirmed. None of the seals that I've pulled out were brittle or cracked and it was difficult to spot any wear at all.

I hope your right Cope......either that or some form of anti-gravity magic
But considering that tank might weigh up to "3kgs" I can't see how drilling a few holes in the bash-plate would compensate for that.

I kinda like the bike....I think .....But it would have been nicer if it had looked more like the plastics on the pre-release photos.
One thing I loved about the older Sherco's was being able to see the level of fuel in the tank.....This tank will be more like the "fill it till you spill it" GasGas tanks.
Oh and ShercoRider....I prefer the white/silver too

Yes but I think you might be forgetting that Cope confirmed the part numbers as nitrile and that they are not suitable for use with alcohol.

Ya beat me too it!!!....I was hoping to get hold them seals and make a new set of earring for the wife!!....god knows her ears could do with a good sealing

Hi Tony,
It is the airbox to carb manifold (just like the one in your photos).....but I only used one of these on my 125. The angle and offset is greater the the 125 engine than with the 250/290 engine. But I reckon the same manifold rubber would be good for the 250/290 engines too.

Hmmm.....
Looks a mess...but who knows....might be worth it on a Keihin....Although god knows how much fuel would pour out of those horizontal vents the way they are set up at the moment.
I think one would have a hard time doing this, like this, to an OKO

I'm looking to be there on the 5th.
Is there anyway I can get confirmation that a 2010 bike will be there before I go?
Many thanks.

Hey Tony,
Neat is good
But my guess is it not so good to have a sharp right angle (like the Dellort) there. I have no figures with air but I know with water pipes one that 90deg bend is the equivalent of 7 meters of straight pipe in terms of drag/resistance.
I'm just a bit concerned that all your work may be in vain. Because the OKO is fine with or without a short tube anyway.
You might notice from my photo above that only the Keihin has dual vents. The OKO's only have the one on the muff side.

Hey Tony, so you don't like my spring-on-the-tube trick
It will be great see what you come up with
Best of balance.
Neo

Go for it Tony.
But unlike the Keihin the OKO is not effected by the tubes....I've tried it both ways and there is no difference at all on the OKO.

I moved the clip to the top grove today and there was a marked improvement (smother) moving off the bottom (as it was a touch rich on a hot engine).....but that might have been caused by the Boyseen reeds i'm running too.
But what I don't understand is WHY? ....according to those Keihin graphs the need shouldn't effect the mix until 1/2 throttle or so....Can anyone explain why this works at all at low RPM, first 1/8 throttle?
Also, I have discovered that if you use a Keihin metal bowl on an OKO carb that the bowl nut hits up against the base of the stem (the bit that holds the Pilot and Main jets) quite hard. The nut either has to be ground down (on the inside) or it might be best just to use a plastic bowl. Or make sure you get an OKO with a plastic bowl already on it.
